  1. I'm thinking that device is similar to a Chromebox, which is an Android-based platform with a few different manufacturers (ASUS, HP.) Google just announced the "Nexus Player" that works in a similar fashion. Essentially they run Android apps, so the Chrome browser would be among them. Regarding football, AmericaOne says they support Android and iOS, so I'd think those games would work.
  2. IMO, it's not worth trying. The browsers in the smart TVs (and a lot of the "smart" features in general) are gimmicky. The apps don't get updated frequently or have poor support. I'd recommend connecting a computer or other device and using a real browser. A Roku, Chromecast, AppleTV, or another device like that combined with an excellent display (smart or otherwise) is a much better option than relying on the apps built into a smart TV. - Sorry for the mini-rant The reason video isn't working is probably because the built-in browser doesn't run the required plug-in (flash, HTML5, silverlight, etc.) I think Flash is what's required, but not 100% sure.
  3. My interpretation is that he was speculating on the reason why Midco might hold up the deal. If you ask almost anyone in Fargo if they'd prefer to stick with CableOne, the answer would be a resounding NO. They use CableOne because it's really their only option other than satellite. I'm not sure if Midco has completely advanced into Fargo yet. After a quick coverage check it appears they now cover my former house, which was near West Fargo, but don't cover the apt I lived in before that, which is more centralized. CableOne uses service contracts and early termination fees, so people who currently use it are likely stuck with it until the contract is up. Midco has shown games on FCS in the past, which would allow people in GF, and other Midco areas, to stay on DirecTV and still watch games. My thought on the delay is that the negotiations and planning started too close to the beginning of the season.
  4. The radio crew were giving props to Simonson for his face off ability. That would be nice to develop another natural C (if that's what he is.) St Clair was underwhelming offensively coming from the Force, but I'd almost keep him in the lineup for work ethic alone. He is one of the rare guys that stuck around for an entire season after being declared academically ineligible. That says a ton about his character.
  5. I got a response that my $ will be refunded. Listening is better than nothing I guess. Way to kill that 5on3! Now stop taking penalties!
  6. TH on I Heart Radio sounds great. But need to get a refund for this joke of a webcast.
  7. Just so we're all on the same page, you meant Nick Mattson right? 3-0 Nice and tidy for Zane, Parks, OD, and The General
  8. I've been out of the student ticket loop for a few years, but they must have less than when I went. I was just able to secure first row section 310 for the Friday Providence game going through Ticketmaster. That section used to be students.
  9. I don't see this Saturday's UND at BSU game on NCHC.tv. Anyone know whether that game will be televised outside of the MN Public TV viewing area?
  10. Judging by their post about impact defensemen, they're not writing about the best players. They're probably thinking these players are poised to make a larger impact than last year (or in the case of freshmen, play a big role on their team.) Nothing to see here folks, just things to fill the last remaining non-hockey days.
  11. Ryan Duncan - He's my size, not the fastest skater, not the hardest shooter, laser accuracy, super clutch, and humble as all get out. Plus, he stayed all four years and IIRC never missed a game.
  12. You need a mix, or you'll only have a good team once or twice every four years.
  13. I think your projections are pretty sound. What's always tough is predicting how injuries will make their impact. This year was fairly atypical, since the team didn't suffer too much other than when Mark and Parks were battling theirs. However, 3.75-4.00 goals/game is a huge number. Not many teams are putting up those kind of numbers in today's college hockey landscape.
  14. LSS should be fun. A fresh, unfamiliar opponent.
  15. Ohio State and Michigan, anybody? Going by who's playing well, I'll go with Lowell winning it all.
  16. He lost a fair bit of credibility when he called Nic Dowd the Hobey favorite, though. Unless maybe he meant other than the stone-cold obvious deadlock in Johnny Gaudreau.
  17. Webcast was great until a few mins ago. Could be a demand issue, but seems to have dropped for everyone.
  18. You'll get no argument from me on either point, but the bold item I would hope varies from place to place
  19. My personal preference is Minneapolis. I like that area much better. Even though I love the area around the X, I think there are more options around the Target Ctr, especially since Target Field was built. They'll just have to pick a more prepared venue for the alumni event next year.
  20. Looks like Sioux fans are voting for Cags, and ignoring the other matchup. Agreed on Cags' goal, it's a thing of beauty, and what the video doesn't show is that it was his first game back after that freaky neck-first fall against the U-18 team.
  21. I agree with most of what's posted about the atmosphere during the last couple seasons. But having been a student when the building opened, I know for sure that the students selected the sections they have. As others have said, even on the ends, standing would block the suites. It's a situation that has been discussed probably every year. That's the big design flaw of the Ralph. Unlike Xcel where the suite and upper-level are elevated, and you can watch the game just by leaning in from the concourse. I wish the rink announcer would engage the fans a bit more. I've been to a few other arenas where the announcer really rallies the fans. I like Looker's voice, but the same script is very bland.
