Does Sanford's donated money still spend when their CEO is in a bind? I've heard rumors Sanford was interested in purchasing naming rights for the new Med School, but UND has been resistant.

Due to the history of coverage of the 2 teams by local media, it's fairly easy to see why the use of that picture would get this reaction. An above the fold picture of ndsu for an article about UND's game? Not sure if it's laziness or reinforcement of the Fargo message that there's only one D1 team in ND.

Also, I'm quite surprised the Herald suddenly agrees with selling Ray Richards and razing other properties.... they've been making backhanded remarks and printing negative opinion pieces about it for 2 years! I still think it was a mistake to close the course before a buyer had been lined up for it though.

Definitely. Unfortunately the $7,000 we raise here wouldn't even make a blemish on that $35 million price tag. Need to sell Ray Richards and a few other properties. UND may have hurt itself by not embracing Sanford a few years ago.

At this point, is there any reason to even do student tickets? Just scan their IDs at the door to get a number and call it good.

21 year old students were already standing in the end zone crosswalks drinking the whole game. The "bar" shouldn't really change anything there.

Yes, but technically the Nickel doesn't belong to UND and only the state board of higher education can really tell UND to do something like that. Also, UND can simply claim it's considering playing for the Nickel once the home-home conference series restarts and then just hope the legislature forgets.
