You mean Kennedy, a Republican, didn't discriminate against O'Brien for being a Republican? That's pretty crazy. Also, I believe it's illegal, or at least highly frowned upon, for a legislator who's also a state employee to double dip on pay during session. Good for UND not paying her while she's not performing her job duties.

I'm not saying those 2 have been successful in landing the best local players, but we'd be complaining about a lack of local coaches if we didn't have any. Complaining is what we do. With that said, I really like Wanzek and Maag. And Toivonen is solid as well. Should they all be on the field at the same time? Not in most situations.

Rudy and Kostich should both be fired. Their play calling, player development, and talent evaluation skills are all lacking. However, if we didn't have any coaches from ND/MN, we'd likely be complaining about how a lack of local coaches is hurting our local recruiting.

Right. I'm just saying a UND connection has not been a requirement for who Bubba has hired as assistants.

FWIW, only 3/10 assistant coaches went to UND.

I was thinking the same thing. Coaches did call for the jugular, but the players did not execute. With that said, the FB wheel route was a low probability (dumb) play call.

But Hakstol was hired because O'Keefe was his father-in-law....

He already has a master's degree so unpaid grad assistant won't work. No other role he's qualified for.

I know you're not serious, but a HC should never simply be moved down. Unfortunate sometimes, but he has to be removed completely if no longer HC, otherwise players and coaches will continue looking to him and undermine new HC.

Agreed, the staff had no choice but to go for it. No way we were making a field goal from there. That's another problem the staff failed to address in the off season.

Sounds good. Anywhere that it can be a combination hockey trip and winter vacation should work. I don't have much desire to visit Seattle in October- April.
