No they shouldnt. He wins national championships. Those coaches dont get fired.
Actually coaches who go to the national tournament every year as a head coach and hold the current standard for the most consecutive NCAA appearances don't get fired either. Doesn't make him a great coach, but it does make him a very good coach or maybe a great recruiter.

when you get out shot 2 to 1 its not because you ran in to a hot goalie. Saunders was a hot goalie, just got overworked.

Btw i havent followed ushl. How is eades team doing?
Last to first in his first year as head coach

rough day for B1G hockey
rough day for WCHA hockey too. only the Sioux are still standing out of all four western teams playing today. WOW.
-
That is probably the best picture that will come out of this year's tournament. Two of college hockey's best players. thank you for this, sioux rube.

So, 10 or 20 years down the road, would the WAC's previous life as a FBS conference be dead and buried or could their name be resurrected as a football conference with FBS credentials?
This is, of course, assuming that the three tier setup that is being talked about does not come in to existence and the current two tier FBS - FBS doesn't lose the BCS to its own division.
Under the proposed three tier system, the Big Sky would more than likely be on the same level as the Sun Belt, and Idaho would concievably become full Big Sky members.

Looks like Idaho will not be bringing their football program to the Big Sky

This was done from a goofer fan, but very funny!

"DU will travel 400 more miles for its regional this weekend than BC has traveled for regionals in the last 13 years COMBINED."
Run the math on that:
Denver to Manchester is 2000 miles. If DU will travel 400 miles more that means 1600 miles is the baseline for comparison.
1600 miles / 13 years is an average of 123 miles per year.
Put that in perspective: Over the last 13 years, on average, what BC has had to travel is the equivalent of Grand Forks to Bemidji.
To really put that in perspective you also have to remember that in 2011 they traveled to St. Louis where they got pounded by CC. That trip was 1050 miles (by air). So in 12 years they travelled 550 miles or an average of about 45 miles per year. I checked my math twice as that almost seems impossible but that's what it is.
Agree that this is disgusting, however BC has not been in the NCAA tournament each of the last 13 years. . Back to traveling to Bemidji.

trying to keep score...
Georgia Southern and Appalachian State announced full Sun Belt affiliation today

Oral Roberts talking to Missouri Valley Conference
Switching to the MVC would allow ORU to transition to a league which typically gets more than just its tournament champion into the NCAA Tournament. The MVC’s RPI this season ranked ninth out of 32 NCAA Division I conferences. The Summit League was 19th. The Southland was 25th. -

Disagree with your post, but that is funny.

I think y'all are selling Penn State short... They have this huge benefactor and no basketball program to speak of. Pennsylvania is not out of the national hockey footprint by any stretch, in fact you might say that they are in the middle of it. The Nittany Lions will be one of the stronger B1G teams sooner rather than later. They may be coming from nowhere, but they are coming in with more cash (and maybe more commitment) than any new program has for decades.
As for the breakup, I would rather that we went back to the old WCHA from the time I was at UND and that would be UND, UM, UW, Duluth, CC, Denver, Michigan, Michigan State, Michigan Tech and Notre Dame. THAT was a conference! We will never get back there again, so we have to move on. The B1G is one of the most recognizable conferences in college athletics and their members have deep pockets. We will mourn the passing of the old WCHA, some of us mourn the passing of the original version, but life will go on. It's kinda like missing the old rivalries of the NCC, but now preferring to build the new rivalries in the Big Sky.

Looks like Idaho and New Mexico St. will be invited to the Sun Belt for football only.
That's a bummer. Was hoping Idaho would be forced to drop football down to FCS.
New Mexico State, Idaho and Georgia Southern now in play for Sun Belt
Article is from Nov 2012, but saw a quote from Sun Belt Commissioner Karl Benson this morning on ESPN.com that NMSU and Idaho are being talked about by Sun Belt presidents.

So the Quinnipiac coach signed off on BC in their region?! Guess I'll take QU in the brackets.

I just checked, I do have the videos. Now I need to know when it was.
iirc?? 7 minutes into the 3rd period

Would Oakland have a shot as their (Youngstown's) replacement in the Horizon League? or maybe Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne? more issues for the Summit? just asking...

there is not a chance in hell that yale beats minny. i would bet my house on that or anything else anyone would want to wager. there is abetter chance of us losing to niagara than minny being upset by yale.
Might have said the same thing about Colorado College last Friday.
-
As bad as this is for UND, why do Mami and Notre Dame, the only two teams from the CCHA get put in the same region?
One way to make sure there is not an all WCHA final is to put all 6 teams into 3 regions and leave Boston all alone.
-
Alabama Huntsville was accepted into the new WCHA wasn't it?
-
It may be a sentimental thought, but how appropriate for the final WCHA Broadmoor to be taken home by Colorado College. One more game out of Howe like the last 2 and they will accomplish the improbable.
-
Tigers 2 Gophers 0 end of 2!
-
4 - 1 Wisconsin.
Is CC over Minny next?
-
Question...if SCSU loses to Wisconsis...and the unlikely scenario that Wisc and CCSU play for the WCHA championship..is there an automatic bid into the NCAA tourney for the winner? and if so, does that make UND the odd man out?
Yes and probably not

Do you mean Mike Eaves or Cary Eades? Heck, both would be good candidates. Not sure it would be good to have to go up against Eades. No, pretty sure it would not be good.
