Bison have that mystique and know that but for a silly call by the OC in the first game, they would have dominated the Jacks early and beat them.

    Bison by a TD.

SDSU spotted NDSU a big lead... in the Fargodome.  And still won.

I am gonna guess SDSU by 10. Just a flat out better team right now

not that it should matter to play up to the cameras but when the iwu player recovered the fumble (which he did)...he should hold it up or stand up and make the first down signal....sell it to the reviewers

I dont think there was an issue of UIW not being animated that they recovered the football.

Thats wayyy after the whistle blew and the UIW player pulled the ball away from 49.

Not sure why the whistle blowing would matter. Officials regularly blow a whistle and then sort out who recovered the ball.

I'm not sure how you can take this very definite position. Earlier you shared a screenshot saying it was the precise moment the whistle blew and 49 is 100% not in possession of the ball.

They don’t have the same home field advantage anymore. 14k at the dome isn’t gonna give them the same advantage they used to get when their fans gave a !@#$

At this point the advantage seems limited to sleeping in their own beds and what not.

2012 Georgia Southern dome energy has been gone for a very long time.

FBS can only do full rides so if they offered a scholly that’s what it was. Maybe it was disingenuous verbiage?

Can only sign if the school lets you.  Think a lot of people forget that many offers are not actionable. But I think schools are usually pretty good about not putting a kid on blast "we told him months ago we didn't have room for him" or whatever.

I’m not so sure. Probably not card sales or shirts. Will the mattress company give more than the Red Pepper?  What will it cost to get a 2 or 3 star to UND or NDSU. Scholarships and championships may no longer be as high of a priority as before. The Power 5’s and schools in metro areas or nearby big businesses will be able to sweeten the offers for recruits. Starting to wonder about hockey.

I guess my thinking is that the sort of money a Mattress v. Red Pepper type battle isn't going to have such a substantial delta between the offers to make it a deciding factor for kids.  It seems like one thing when Oregon promises a kid "hey we will hook you up with $200K just to pick our school" and then Texas A&M comes in and says "we can get you double that!"  $200,000 is a substantial sum of money to leave on the table.  It makes sense they'd go to TAMU.  Those schools are also fighting over prized high 4 and 5 star recruits, not 2-3 star kids.  Lots of the latter, few of the former.

But with NDSU and UND - I just don't see the hunger developing between much more modest sized fanbases fighting over the types of recruits that exist all over the place.  If a kid wants to go to NDSU or UND - I don't see some small modest sum of money changing their mind to go elsewhere.  I see the bigger thing being "hey if you come here and are a star on the team, local businesses in the community/state will throw some money at you for advertisements/billboards/corny mattress commercials."

Hockey I could see more of the big school NIL stuff happening, considering UND's place in the hockey world and some of the schools they go up against there.

    Real World.

UND better get ready for this.

This ain't going to be meaningful at this level of football. For a 5-star guy dealing with huge fanbases?  Sure.  He can do something hokey and novel like this.  At the FCS level, whats he gonna get?  A couple dozen people paying a few bucks?

Just curious regarding some comments mentioned above about coaches suggesting a player leave.  Is this something that typically happens in college athletics or is it a byproduct of the new transfer rules?

I don't know how exactly they go about phrasing it.  But the Notre Dame podcasts I listen to say stuff like "this guy was asked to return" or "this guy was encouraged to check the portal", stuff like that.

I understand that, but don’t you think at some point it’s possible to overdo it with transfers to the point where the identity of the team and the university it represents don’t fully align? If most of the key players on NDSU’s team were transfers that the coach brought with him or came in from other places, I would feel differently about the team I think. I’ve never viewed any transfer player differently than a player who’s been with the program from the start, but if the scales started tipping the other direction in terms of the ratio of transfers, I think I would feel different about the team.

USC brought in 20 transfers/8 high school kids for this season.  Their fans were loving life this year other than on two occasions against Utah.

You think the NCAA gives two shits about some small school that took them to court and lost?

professional conduct is out the window with you guys, do you not see that yet?

I think Matt Larson is going to do what’s best for ndsu and ndsu alone, I would hope that you guys feel the same way about chaves, but judging by most posters on here you would rather set him adrift in a leaky boat with no oars in the middle of the Bering sea.

    1.  You think the guys on the committee care at all that UND sued the NCAA years ago?  They don't.  They are athletic directors from auto-bid conferences.  They don't even work for the NCAA lmao.

    2.  If the AD is acting exclusively in his school's best interest, he shouldn't be on the committee.  At that point he'd be hurting the conference.

    3.  You  harp about professional conduct while claiming that every party EXCEPT UND is actually acting without professionalism.

Is it really that black and white???

I have zero idea what voters consider. I saw your post and figured I'd go look at the numbers on the MVFC website. The conference stat comparison was pretty funny to see though

UND has no one on the first team All-conference MVFC team. How is Bo not first team All-MVC for starters?

two of the guys in front of him had more yards and touchdowns in fewer games.  The third guy played two fewer games, but their stats/game were nearly identical.  Maybe voters were giving him credit for doing it on a trash team in Terre Haute.  Who knows.  I'm guessing Bo will sleep just fine.

    Troll talking to a troll.

Why did you highlight the inbreeding comment lol.  UND's football coaching has been very incestuous.

Bubba - 15 years as an assistant at UND.  Another six or seven with Lennon at SIU?

Mussman - 8 years as an assistant at UND before getting the head job.

Lennon - Played at UND, 8 years assisting at UND, then head coach.

Roger Thomas was the last HC at UND without spending a long period of time at UND as an assistant.  You can argue whether its good or bad, you can't really argue its been pretty heavy on the inbreeding.

I know most of you aren’t a fan of Mauch and his antics but I think he’s a top tier troll and I respect it because his play more than backs it up.

I don't mind trolling.  But that is sorta asking for a taunting flag.  Pretty fun though to see linemen show a little personality though.

Ill have to go back and watch that play.. I remember it a little different and thought the officials did the right thing. I think there was a question as to if Maag was even down on the play and I thought the dback did what he needed to do.  I also wouldnt have had a problem if Maag had plowed him over after that happened.

I think there was confusion whether the guy was down or the play was over.

  18. I don't think its probably very hard to get the committee on board with Montana.

    - Nice stadium.  Looks good on TV.  Probably a decent number of fans will be there.

Big Sky is a prime conference to set up with non-bus games, there are basically none available. Isn't everyone west of  Grand Forks (other than some TX schools) in the Big Sky?  No opportunity for bus games in the west.
