I go to the hockey games out here and I will be traveling to U of Utah for the football opener next fall.

Pretty much same here. 2001 is when I started paying attention. Graduated from UND in 08 and then the transition happened. My favorite game in person was out in Wyoming because driving home after the game the sense of a rising program couldn't be ignored.

I get what you are saying here about the hockey fans but I hope there are other fans like me out there: I follow both hockey and football closely. The first division 1 playoff game on the same day of playing a non conference hockey game in New York = no brainer for me as I will be glued to every second of the football game. Edit: If i still lived up there I would attend in person and drag people with me. I feel like I did my part in taking in two games in person this season (1 home, 1 away) Pretty good for living 1,000 miles from campus. Also- huge props for those making big trips; Respect.

This is exactly it and I will not buy into it. I have stuck with this team since the D1 transition and I will be damned if I will cheer for another team "because it is good for the state." To those who throw out that argument- prove it, because i would bet money that these people would not support UND.

Here is a Facebook post from the FCS Football official page. The top headline is something like :"UND Football plays their first ever D1 playoff game as the 7th seed." The bison trolls are just coming out of the woodwork. I just love seeing them realize that they are no longer the only relevant football program in North Dakota!

IN about an hour 500 tickets already sold. Good start so hopefully they can maintain the momentum. I would like to see someone who posts on here who also lives in Grand Forks to let us know what the advertising effort looks like from now through game day next week. My hope is that this is getting pushed everywhere but tough for me to tell other than social media.

I am not sold on Jax State just yet. After looking at their schedule I am not impressed. Other than EWU I really do like our side of the bracket.

Cal Poly has the toughest strength of schedule in the entire FCS. They are in.

I would like to see Cal Poly and Weber win today, both would be at 7 wins and eligible.

Just got home , watching on root and end of 3rd quarter . psu is pushing , tie game at end I'd 3rd quarter. This is going to be great finish.

Agreed, like in late July and early August when the football itch gets serious.

There was a nice contingent of UND fans at the game in Greeley. Many live in Colorado but some of the people tailgating with us took the round trip flight direct from Devils Lake to Denver for $265 round trip. That price only goes up during holidays so it really is easy and affordable to get to Colorado. Utah is a different story of course.

This scenario would not surprise me at all.
