Anyone notice EJ Welch out there? I saw him in there a few times and I feel like he was actually getting a push and causing some disruption. We haven't seen much of that lately so i'm hoping he sees some more playing time. But yeah overall our defense is terrible. What the heck happened?

Good point. I was in college at the time so I didn't think about these things, but I have wondered why UND and USD didn't move up at the same time? It seemed to be fairly obvious that d2 was quickly becoming watered down, and that is not a place for the big Dakota schools.

Hanson is the better player. I would give him the Montana game before any judgements are made. The interception he threw was right off of Golliday's hands and the fumble was a head shot that went un-called.

Yes, Mackey needs to get cozy with the pine because he is just bad. Chris Hall was getting burned as well. We need someone else to step up there but that probably won't happen until next year. We couldn't shut down a pass if our life was depending on it yesterday. The D line and LB's played decent, or at least better than the last two weeks. We still need to learn how to tackle, aka a basic fundamentals that we learned in junior high football. Although, they deserve the benefit of the doubt because Bauman is the best they will see the entire year, hands down. When he was out the second quarter we owned them. Play calling- I always said give Muss a chance now that he is through the transition...but I cannot see this guy being able to manage a game from kickoff until the final whistle. His judgement is questionable at best. He should be an OC, not HC. The upside- We finally have an offense. Midcos production of the game was pretty good and Big Sky tv was pretty clear! sad when tv production is an upside

It wasn't South Carolina. I believe it was a Sunbelt team (Arkansas State) Regardless they did run a series with 2 QB's and the opposing defense was a bit confused.

Just a few seasons ago ndsu was 3-8. We have been beating ourselves lately but things can change quickly.

Well, just looking at the posts on this page alone I have gathered that there are about as many ndsu posts. Obsessed? Threatened? secret crush? It is certainly one of the above because last I checked it has been 9 years since we played and ndsu trolls are on a UND board on a regular basis. What does that really say?

So I suppose since they are not the real deal we have a chance to beat them? Why don't you go talk about UND in a condescending tone with your pals on bville. Lately it has been impossible to have a conversation without bizun trolls comments and constant need for approval. We don't even play anymore so just move on already.

Ivory did step up towards the end of the season last year when Hardin went down so we know he is capable...but can he be consistent? Also, our receiving corp is very talented all around...enough with these damn dropped balls!

During playoff time, assuming we will not be in, I will become a Big Sky in general fan. The bizun got theirs last year; and for the record I was leaning for them then.

You raise a good point. In the past I have supported Mussman because realistically he inherited a less than desirable position in regards to the transition. I also did not expect us to make the playoffs (although a guy can hope). However, I am starting to wonder if a non UND coach would help move the needle? IDK at this point, but I do know that we have some issues that need fixing now and I cannot remember a UND defense that was this bad. Heck, maybe even a non-UND defensive coordinator would make all the difference...

I have been wondering the same thing lately. If the 3-4 is designed to stop a veer / tripple option offense, then why would we run it in a wide open Big Sky?
