Found what I was looking for. It was 2003-04. Tech stayed. Factor in a 10 hour winter bus ride home and 3-4 days later come back. I believe they set up and practiced all week in EGF.

About 25(?) years ago, Tech stayed in GF after the last regular season series to face the Sioux for the best of 3 first round. Anyone remember the year?

Great place. Love me some Chili Balti or Butter chicken and onion kulcha. Haven’t found a bad entree yet. Good people.

It was awful to watch live at the Xcel when Bina touched it on the delayed Sioux penalty. You could almost sense what Paukovich was going to do. Prp. started the retribution the next year and Greene finished it about 2 years later.

Old rink in Roseau was pretty cold, then when you were defending the east net, they would open up the overhead door behind the goalie to freeze him even more. Red Lake Falls was cold also, with uninsulated corrugated metal walls and roof that was about 18’ over the very hard ice. The metal walls and roof seemed to transfer the cold in.

That to me, is what made it palatable to watch Doug & the Rug on FSN. Woog brought so much to the broadcast even if we knew he was a homer. “Rusty, Sparky, Spirko.” Coached to the regionals 12 straight years. RIP Doug. Good man, gone to soon.

Best game that I have seen from Emery. Great on the back check. Played smart and was difficult to play against. Used his reach very effectively.

Off the top of your head, that’s pretty good. Although you missed the easy layup with John Gasparini. Add James Patrick & Evan Trupp also. Hrkac also coached some. Others will likely name a dozen more former players to coaches.
