I think this is where I have to agree with Sicatoka. This is where I think UND has to make a stand and why not congress, I think its ironic that congress steps up when we are talking about a big school like the Illinois. I think this could pick up steam. But your right they are ducking and having it both ways.

I love it, this is actually exciting, some guy that lost already defending the NCAA is going to give advice on law suits. I think Stenehjem is right there are some things that possibly appear to be an over step by the NCAA and I can see team like the UI tennis team suing them for lost revenue...

I would be willing to bet there is going to be a few late season pick ups during the offseason. About 5 years ago the same thing happened and I think we ended going out and getting another player. I think that is how UND ended up with Mike Prpich? I could be wrong. I remember us getting a few goalies on short notice. I am not too worried.

Only thing is the voting public has short memories and will have forgotten by then. These guys know that.

The US house as stepped forward with a bill to stop the NCAA from over stepping its bounds. And wouldn't you know it Earl Pomeroy is trying to strattle the fence by saying he likes the name but doesn't want to have the US house get involved. How nice Earl show some back bone. Of course Earl has come close to losing his job so he has to play both sides of the fence. That my friends is a travesty. You are either for it or against it. Make up your mind. Thats a man pandering for votes. Native vote DNC almost exclusively, and Pomeroy doesn't want to upset the natives but still wants to be for the name. Typical Dem. YOu will not be able to count on these guys because they are pandering for votes. This is what we got for voting this way in ND. But that is for another debate. Its the reason I will never vote for the three amigos.

Good post Hiedi. I agree. Chill people, play some golf, get out and enjoy the chilly May and play some golf. I was out at Kings Walk today and the course is shaping up quite nicely. Yesterday, Gord Henry and Gene Roebuck let me play through. Life is good. Enjoy it.

Triouxper is right, unforunately this site brings a few trolls to that like to spen their time trolling. Like someone said big deal. Besides after his performance in the frozen four I have a hard time believing four team would be interested in him. Whatever, all that means is that Hak has to go get another goaltender.

Ussually in hockey goalies don't get a letter like an A or a C because the coaches want them to concentrate on being the goalie. I remember Karl was a Captain for a while but I think he ended up losing the letter later on in the season.

I don't think this team will miss a beat like one person said earlier have some faith in the people we have. We have only seen the tip of the ice burg with Oshie and Toews, beside I believe Toews will be a better player that Stafford in the years to come. Take the Money and run Drew we will be fine without you. I think the boys coming in are going to be pretty good too. Lets not lose faith its only may.

I am going to stand in your corner too Redwing 77, The loss of Smaby is huge and his absence will be missed a lot. Also, I would never question Smaby's heart the kid is a monster, awesome hitter and pretty good on defense. If I am not mistake Matt came to UND barely 18 years old so maybe some people should cut him a little slack, Smaby is awesome.

Although there are a numbers of NCAA players going to the NHL, I don't think Grapes is going to be alive when the NCAA does finally catch up with Major Junior hockey in Canada. I guess there is something for the NCAA to shoot for.

Canuck thanks for answering my questions, it clears thing up a bit for me. I am also for the NCAA letting kids that play in the CHL/WHL while in high school being able to play in the NCAA after high school without them losing any eligibility, however, the NCAA doesn't see it that way because Major Junior hockey players are consider something to the effect of being a semi-pro because they receive per-diem for their meals.
