Gary Lapoint seems more brave on the DS web page. Dakota Stupid Web Page Oh course no one has mentioned his action that he did here.

To me if he is practicing that is a good sign, if we remember right he was practicing last week too. So I am hoping we have him available for this weekend. Also, after this week the Sioux have a bye week before heading off to UAA. I would think a bunch of these guys would be healed up by then.

From the lets go Mavs Lady: (update) Lets Go Mav's Blog I have no idea who this person is, I have stumbled on to this site a few times and she definately isn't as fun to read as mean girl, RWD or Chris's blogsand some of the other blogs . I am going to sit on this request for a while and I probably won't do anything, because she said some mean things to Sioux fans who didn't deserve the verbal abuse. So I am not going to bad mouth anyone for poluting her site she has it coming. Here is why? If you are stupid enough to say something as objectionable as she did, and insult a whole group of people I am going to make them pay the consequences for this act, can I help it the traffic has been up at Goon's world this fall. Heck she isn't even nice to her fellow fans. She refers to them as trailor trash.

LOL, now that is very funny.

Taking an old quote from Dean Blais "don't take a penatly if you can't kill it".

Staal is staying with the Pens. From the Pittsburg Pens Site.

No disgust, was kind of slapping myself on the back for accurately picking a few of the selections.

It was just like a few us thought it would be, that they would have to give an award to Kyle Okposo who got rookie of the week. To Brad Miller as the co-offensive player of the week. I still think Lee should have been the Defensive player of the week. Scoring like 4 assists in the Saturday game.

Just look at the regionals last season: On paper and on tv the pundents said there is no way that lowly Holy Cross will beat the mighty goofers. Well that was shot out of the water. That is why they play the games on the ice and not on the paper.

And just think we were getting put down on our recruiting classes by many of the bloggers not that long ago.

I am not worried about the Badgers they will be lucky to finish in the top 5, the Gophers are another thing. But someone mentions later on, Minnesota doesn't win a national title when they win the league title. I will take a NCAA title over an WCHA title anytime.

Heck lets not forget Jerry Springer, there is more fighting in that show than the NHL and the NBA put together.
-
He is talking about Brad Park and who he was traded to the Bruins. Basically dated himself back to the 1970's. Where there was way more fighting than there is now.
-
I guess we could stay below the radar for a while. That might be a good thing. It seems like no one has checked the standing UND is in first place in the WCHA. I know its early but its a possitive.
-
I have no clue how they can put Wisconsin that high up. Almost like they are giving them too much respect when they haven't earned it this season, if it wasn't for Elliot they would have been swept by UND. They did nothing against B.C. and they don't have anyone that score, even with the guys that are hurt they still aren't going to finish above UND.

Have Joe or Radke do it.

I suppose if neither works this year we can bring in a new goalie recruit next year. I am going to get flamed for this but hack away. I think its funny that people are hacking on Grecio and calling for our practice goalie because god forbid we won a few shoot outs. I will bet anyone one of you by the time he is done Grecio will be up there in stats and wins at UND. I have not been all that impressed with Phil since has been at UND, except for a few handful of games he has played at UND. Everyone said he was going to be the NEXT KG. Not even close. I remember people used to say Jordan was out of position a lot and he was, but he always seemed to come up with the big save (maybe it was luck, it appears Phil has none). Phil does not seem to come up with the big save very often. After looking decent in net against Wisconsin, Phil looked sick against Maine in both games, he definately wont be confused for being Brian Elliot. A lot of the goals score were him being out of position being too far back in the crease. While Lammy is a good goalie (better than Briggs) he dosn't seem to make the game saving belling ringing saves, but neither did Brandt, both have good number but nothing to show for them.

I think this is what PCM was talking about, the refing is based on situation in the game and score and the league wanting parity Which the NCAA rules committee is not happy about. All not things the WCHA officals should be concerned about. In the NHL if your team can't skate its going to be a long season. I am surprised they just don't a prized recruit off each team and give them to a lesser team in the league.
-
Yep no grounds for argument there. $ and people like it. My brother-in law the former golden goofer once said in college hockey I can go out and lip off to the biggest guy and go hide behind the ref because I know I am not going to have to fight. But if I did that in professional hockey I know I am going to get killed. That threat alone should keep people honest. Ever notice what happend when the goal gets run. Hair flies in that happend college, Karl probably doesn't get run very often. George Gwoz would be sending his band of merry thugs to run the goalie if then knew they were going to get clobbered.

There is way more stick work in the NCAA than there is in the NHL. Many make the case it is the full face shield and the lack of fighting. In fact some make the case that the NCAA game is more violent and cheap because of this.
-
Phil gave up quite a few soft goals during the series at Maine. Briggs has had a whole career of giving up soft goals. Goalies from time to time give soft goals.

I wonder if Ziggy regrets leaving? Sounds as if he is the third goalie again. Are people going to say he didn't get a fair shake in Duluth too? I wonder if Ziggy is even dressing or sitting in the stands, I suppose he and the other back up get to help open doors on the bench. It think its funny that people talk as if Grecio is a hack and a crappy goalie and Walski is getting an unfair shake. Walski is a practice goalie. Just because Grecio let in 9 goals this weekend many are ready to say he isn't good and we should give Walski a chance. I would be willing to bet Phil would have let that many in himself this past weekend like others have stated. It wouldn't surprise me if Grecio is one of the top goal tenders in the league either next season or the year after.
