  1. I have to admit that I liked the Drama and thought the hockey was exciting. I am watchingthe SJ and Dallas series and it has been some good hockey. I am hoping that Philly and the Pens is going to be everything that it has to potential to be.
  2. You know I can see the genius in your post. The buddy system is so true, Zelkin was the best official in my opinion but when the league needed to send refs to the Final Five and the NCAA tourney Shepturd sends his son and Anderson. To me that is a huge joke. Zelkin has officiated in many venues including the WJC. No sane person can figure it out.
  3. LeftyZL I think people don't understand that Hooking, Holding, Slashing and obstruction does not equate to good defense. When the NHL enacted their new enforcement the league coaches found a way to play defense without the extra B.S. now teams just colaspe around their goalie. You can play defense without the obstruction. I think the refs and the league office need to get it into their mind that it is not OK for a defender to be draped all over the opposition. It is not OK to slash T.J. Oshie or _________ (name your star player), that does not equate to fair play and is not acceptable in the NHL why should it be in the WCHA or NCAA? Think of it this way; you're playing golf your ball is in a divot so move your ball to improve your lie. Because of your better lie you are able to get home in two so you get a birdie on the score card. However, you didn't get a birdie you cheat and should put down a Bogey on the score card. Watching team (insert random team) skate up and down the ice hooking, slashing, obstructing, tackling, holding and mugging your team is cheating.
  4. With today's equipment I wonder if half of us couldn't play goal?
  5. That one could be a tough series, I am expecting a few fight and scrums in this one. The Flyers are tough and I used to think they were a bunch of thugs but they have done it by beating their oppostion on the ice and have out muscled, out hustled the Habs and the Crapitals. IF the Pens don't stop acting like a bunch spioled cry babies the Flyers are going to run them out of the building.
  6. They have been changed because people want to see scoring. People do not spend a bunch of money to see a potential scorer or pass reciever tackled before the puck or ball gets there.

  8. The thing is, you can play the trap without hooking and holding and no I didn't enjoy the Devils stanley cup playoff when they clutched and grabbed their way to a stanley cup playoff title. They took a low talent team combined with bad officating to win a stanley cup. The reffing stood by and watched the devils play this god awful hockey supported by an all pro goaltender. I do enjoy the post lock out games since they installed the new rules. The current NHL is way more exciting to watch than college hockey.
  9. Yep and they got it this year with their parity. Call the games they way they are supposed to be called. I think it is funny that Todd Anderson called a great game in the NCAA playoffs but can't call the game right during the WCHA regular season. What gives? I think it is funny that Derrick didn't get to ref in the NCAA championship games in Denver. Maybe the NCAA was tired of watching his antics?
  10. There is a difference between DEFENSE and what product that we have on the ice in the WCHA. The product we have right now sucks. Think back to how many times we have watched the WCHA stars skate up the ice with the oppostion clutching and grabbing them. I can't imagine how many more points, Roe, Oshie, Duncan would have it they weren't obstructed all of the time. All a person has to do is fast forward to the NHL playoffs to notice the great hockey we have witnessed. Scoring is up. The NHL has gotten rid of the can opener, the hooking and holding, and stick work. I am sick and tired of watching top players like Towes, Parise gettting hacked by an opposition player while the ref stands there watching with his finger in his _______... It is a penalty call it.
  11. I think Fetch that is why you see such disparity in the CCHA the refs call the game more closely to the NHL. I don't care if a team can keep up or not with the top powers in the league. I think the league is being done a disservice with letting a less talented team hook, slash and hold a team up and down the ice all in the name of parity. It is time to get some seperation between top teams in the league and the bottom teams.
  12. That is almost funny. Maybe irony is the word I am looking for?
  13. There is an old saying you either get on board or get run over by the train. McCloud's time has come and gone it is time to change to the 21st century. I think we might have to start a movement to get the NCAA and the WCHA to start calling the game the way it is supposed to be called. I do not know why he thinks the fans want to be called the way they are being called right now. The only reason I can see the WCHA commish not wanting to call the games like the NHL is that McCloud is affraid the Have not's won't be able to keep up on the ice with the Have mores. This is a possibility.

I think we could get it going...
  15. Actually if you read [url="http://We%20were%20overwhelmingly%20in%20favor%20of%20two-and-two%20(two%20referees,%20two%20linesmen),

I would be willing to bet that Buffalo is going to sign Gerbe after the playoffs he had.
  17. Ouch
  18. Unless it is all part of the game. I suppose if you don't sign a deal you haven't burned any bridges and can come back. I would like to know as a fan just cause its interesting and nothing else is going on right now...
  19. Yeah, surely you're kidding right? I am going to assume that is sarcsm?
  20. Sicatoka, I am going to say that Towes and Gregoire and probably Cichy will be playing, they aren't going to be sitting in the stands they are top of line recruits. I can't see a Martins or a Miller playing over that trio of players especially when most of them won't be here longer than three season. I mean I am not as hockey smart as Riders_06 but from what I read they are all probably immediate impact players.
  21. All of their teams that hold their rights are done, there is no reason to rush signing.
  22. I don't think there was a lot of American booing O Canada. The Habs fan in Montreal did boo the American Anthem and have a history of doing this...
  23. 50.00 to fill up my Trail Blazer. Yikes.
  24. That why I don't think the Caps are rushing to sign him.
  25. yeah it is called sarcasm
