oh, also...how do they number the seats? Left to right in the section or left to right?
-
my father in law FINALLY got his world JR tickets and they're in Row A, Seat 9 of Section 105 (Lower bowl) and he wanted to know if that would be the first row by the class or the top row of the section by the concourse? figured somebody here would know...

Yes it was...for NDSU Let's see who remembers who had.... -$200 Million dollars of new athletic facilities coming on-line within the last 3 years... -2 of the last 3 years in the National Championship Football Game -a cable network broadcasting every home game of their most successful sport STATEWIDE (give or take 20 games a year) ...seems like that would be the self-proclaimed "flagship institution of ND" but NOOO! It was UND!! ndsu had to DO SOMETHING...something to make themselves feel important again...they were "LOSING" in the eyes of the state!! Now you decide who "made a move to DI based on a threat to pride and emotion" and think twice before you start throwing stones in that cheap glass house you live in now.
-
Why would the (so-called by themselves - ndsu) Flagship University of ND be worried about a "small-time college" like UND?? (also so-called by them) - man, if I was head of security at Moorhead or Concordia - i'd start looking for bombs around campus to prevent ANY competition at all! It's also very comforting our new chancellor is consulting sources like the IN-FORUM CHATROOM to take the public pulse on an issue It's a juvenile pissing match that the big babies at ndsu seem to have won - hooooray! who will dare to challenge them now?? I'm going to torch the NDSU extension office in GF now....
-
Actually, the hockey arena is all bought and payed for (thanks Ralph! - RIP) and the Alerus bill is covered by a city sales tax (non-university related). REA added on the Betty so that does still have to be payed for but if you consider there's about 8 million to cover on a total of 200 million dollars worth of facilities - that's not bad...wish my home mortgage was working out like that The Alums aren't paying, (for the most part), for the facilities but for the privilege of going to games there.
-
problem tonight was no solid leadership...everyone was looking to everyone else to shoot when Northern started their run. When they're not being challenged - everything is fine - when the *hit hits the fan, everyone panics! Might be a recurring problem this season until the upperclassmen, as few of them as their are, step up and make a stand for better or worse...can't hurt anything as far as I can see... they'll be okay this year - next year much better!
-
It was a nice win...the Sioux looked fired up and ready! - SUPER great play from the bench!! (Jared Welles especially!) Played with lots of emotion to topple a very good team...WHY CAN'T THEY DO THAT ALL THE TIME!!! For every game like this...they take a crap to some inferior program down the road...that's the BIG FRUSTRATION with Men's BB!! NO CONSISTENCY
-
i see there are also a lot of World Jr. items showing up now to on Ebay - including tickets?? Has anyone actually gotten their tickets yet? I suppose you could sell them without having them in hand (some sellers reference this in their auctions) but seems weird AND REA has only had almost 2 years to prepare for this...and they don't have tickets in the hands of Tourney-Pass buyers 3 weeks before the event???
-
The x factor for UND is the Hockey program and REA...which other "nameless" institutions do not have to worry about. DI Hockey is king at UND, as it should and will forever be, but right there is a big chunk of the athletic budget - moreso than ever with the addition of Womens Hockey (sorry, a money loser). REA is squeezing FSC members for more money every year to support those programs and REA is also trying to pay for the Betty -- it's going to be VERY TOUGH to raise an ADDITIONAL 2-3+ Million to support the move to DI for the other sports when supporters feel they're being tapped out right now. Are you prepared to divert resources from the mens hockey program for the "improvement" of all sports at UND? That might be the real question? That being said, the BSC is giving UND a unique opportunity to get in to a DI conference - one of the toughest parts of the transitition for any school moving up! It's not something we should sneeze at! Roger told me today they've been talking to schools like Maine (a school with hockey and OTHER DI sports) to see how they're doing it in a "less than metropolitan" atmosphere) -- I think that's VERY interesting...
-
so...think the Jacks are sweating like pigs right now?? btw - PCM nailed it - there was no real NEWS in the Forum article - they're just stirring the pot in advance of the big, pardon the expression, POW-WOW
-
Based on the non-conference season, I wonder if they'll reconsider having games in the Big Ralph?? With the bleachers on the court ends, that must push the seating capacity to around 4000 and you could put in bigger bleachers. Who are they going to draw more than 4000 for anyway? The Betty would be a blast if it was packed!! I think it's pretty cool now...a lot like the old Hyslop but not as stinky.
-
remember it's still early....don't know if they jacked ticket prices for this year but the crowds haven't been bad
-
Been great I think!! Nice cozy atmosphere even with only 1000-1500 in the house. Last weekends games were very good with just over 2000+ - can't wait till the crowds grow to just about fill it. I think it will rock!! Smart move also to keep as many games as possible in there, at least in the non-conference season. You could shoot a cannon through the big Ralph with 1500 fans and not hit anybody!!
-
Heard a radio spot for a Family 4-pack of tickets for $16 bucks this weekend...good idea to make the tickets cheap although I'd advise loading everybody up with a good lunch before heading out...tickets cheap...CONCESSIONS EXTRA!!! (apologies to Paradiso )
-
If you can take yourself away from bidding on one of those stolen SpongeBob inflatable things from Burger King...ebay still has lots of cool Sioux stuff for the hard to buy for shopper on your x-mas list*... Sioux Stuff on Ebay *I am NOT A SHILL!!
-
yeah...been waiting for the tickets too - mainly to unload specific games I won't be attending but ALAS..."there's been a delay". Ironic the KINGS of squeezing every nickel out of you they can don't want to share the wealth and let us scalp a couple tickets from the expensive package we purchased...I don't think the delay is legit! They're just trying to WALMART us on this deal...don't give the little guy any advantage...
-
so they sold their soul for the chance to see their score scroll on the bottom of the screen on ESPN - who cares! I found this quote interesting.... "We tried to carry the flag for Division II," said North Dakota State women's basketball coach Amy Ruley, who led the Bison to five national titles in the 1990s. "But you could win a national title in D-II and hardly anyone knew. Philosophically, we fit better in D-I." and as soon as you win a Division I title...call me....(waiting...waiting..OH - It's NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN!!!! man I bet those lowly DII Championships seem pretty cool right now) If NDSU wins a DI championship, guess what...NO ONE WILL STILL GIVE A DAMN!! it's WOMENS BASKETBALL!!! PS- maybe Amy has a crush on Pat Summit
-
actually...it's GUS the Gorilla...personally can't wait to see the big inflatable monkey and the renovated stadium looks nice and FIELD TURF too...should be fun!!
-
well...we all know the Ag college boys are a LITTLE SLOW!!! No prospects for the postseason...mediocre games in the regular season...gotta put up with CONCORDIA having had many more playoff games in the BARN than ndsu will have before it's more than a decade and half old!! Petty theft and vandalism is ALL they have left!!! Maybe we should give them a little break...NOT!! I hope di-DOUBLE A appreciates them and knows what they're getting - the same bunch of self-absorbed, arrogant, "made a splash once but ever since have been a bunch of non-performing losers" team they've always been...by the way, who are you rooting for in the double a-hole playoffs this weekend?? William and Mary or Montana??? I've got to Tivo those games....OOOPSS forgot...I don't HAVE TIVO (and it's probably a good thing) Bottom line...if you guys want to have a traveling trophy...WIN IT ON THE FIELD!!!! If you have to steal it...it's kind of sad....
-
It is pretty cool isn't it??? FF can attest - it's a nice advantage. You were snoozing when the MONSTER made the big screen though....(at least the first time) I was laughing my *ss off
-
I agree it was great fun when we were rivals, but until we play again its UND property - plain and simple! Too bad if those losers don't have anything to do come November, it's their own fault but then maybe they're just practicing for their future careers as petty criminals and thugs.
-
According to Sweeney from the game broadcast.... "for the 4th year in a row, the UND Football Offices were broken into last night (friday) by "someone" looking for the Nickel trophy. A small replica nickel trophy was taken from Dales office but the thieves did NOT find the real nickel although there was apparently some significant damage and vandalism done to the offices." HHMMM....let me put my Sherlock Holmes hat on for a second and try to figure out who might have done this... Apparently the ag college was bored PLAYING WITH THEMSELVES this weekend You jerks KILL ME!! one minute we're a worthless "smaller" division program they can't bother with but SOMETHING makes them keep trying to STEAL a semi-retired trophy that we rightfully own. They cry about the need to "display it in Bismarck for all the people to see"...try to make it a student senate contest prize ...and when all that fails, they show their true face as the small time punk criminals they are who can't pull off the big job - PATHETIC!! You act just like your football program over the last decade and a half...UNABLE TO WIN the big one (or any one for that mattter!) -- Get a life you losers!!! When we WERE rivals, this was a fun prank, now it's a criminal act PLAIN AND SIMPLE!! Go to Brookings and try to steal that ugly headstone you call the DakotaMarker if you want to make yourselves feel "somewhat" important I'd play the Lakers anyday over you losers...at least they have CLASS, are proven champions, leave it ALL on the field and aren't just a bunch of whiny bitter losers who had to move up a division to make themselves feel better about their lame program!!
-
were you there?? if not, why not?? It was less than i hoped but considering the Holiday weekend - they were great!!! I'm sure the fans were just about as beat as the players after the game...GREAT NOISE - especially LATE!! They definately helped!!! GO SIOUX!!
