  1. Which is why the Hobey has become an afterthought to me. Players would trade the Hobey for a Natty in a heartbeat. I am happy about Hrkac and Duncan winning it, but I have seen too much chicanery over the years to ever get excited about it.
  2. I have nothing against the Tigers. They remind me of those mid 1990's UND teams when Blais was rebuilding the program.
  3. We have bigger fish to fry anyway.
  4. 14-0 Lions vs 49ers early in the 1st quarter.
  5. Chiefs lead Ravens 17-7 early in the 4th quarter. Looks like Swiftimania may be running wild at the Super Bowl.
  6. After a beautiful home sweep of Denver, the boys hit the road to Oxford, OH to play the Redhawks with another 6 NCHC points at stake. I think this is one road series we need to sweep, as we have several teams nipping at our heels. Here's to a conference road sweep and Schlossman enjoying himself as much as possible.
  7. The funny thing is, we split with Miami at home and swept them in Oxford last year.
  8. I've been saying that as well. If he let's the game come to him, his talent will shine.
  9. Even if the REA agreement was better, I still think a more innovative funding model is needed to be competitive across-the-board in Division I. The expenses of being a Division I institution are only going to go up in the future. If we keep the current model, we'll end up like Northern Colorado.
  10. Honestly, I think the average American sports fan gets like this every once in awhile.
  11. My comment was meant as tongue in cheek, but I agree with you.
  12. It depends on how many of those guys leave early in the coming years.
  13. Very good 5 periods of hockey this weekend. I don't think the 6th will disappoint.
  14. It should be about both. This isn't an either/or thing.
  15. The 2nd period started wrong with that icing 10 seconds in.
  16. I agree on the lack of leadership of the FB program. Something has to change.
  17. Time to get the brooms out.
  18. So we should all learn to live with the way things are now permanently? Sorry, but I will never accept that. This whole Division I move was mismanaged from the start. We are still using the same funding model as we did in Division II. We are a proud institution with a tradition of excellence wallowing in the mud of mediocrity. And we have people sleepwalking around like they either don't know what is happening or, worse, don't think it's a big deal. We are running this entire athletic department like a high school, where as long as the overall athletic department GPA is 3.0 or higher, it doesn't matter how many games we win or lose. If this is how we are going to run it, we might as well go back down to Division II where we can run everything on the cheap and still win. But I think we are capable of so much more. The ball is in your court President Armacost. Change has to start at the top and it must start with you.
  19. Good riddance. I never liked Olympic ice.
  20. And collegiate sports is a gigantic mess right now because of this mentality. It is not sustainable over the long run. There will be a reckoning for a lot of people sooner or later. And it won't be pleasant. Anyway, everyone has their own opinions on this. What's not open to interpretation is that this is as low as the program has been since the Mussman Era. And it only figures to get worse before 2024 kicks off. But I'll be in my seat in the Alerus Center as always.
  21. I don't disagree with you. If Chaves extends Bubba, he needs to go.
  22. And screwing people has consequences. That's also life. Ralph Engelstad liked doing business with a handshake and hated dealing with pages and pages of legalese. Those days are over, unfortunately. Landry stabbed us in the back. He is persona non grata as far as I am concerned.
  23. So if someone made a deal with you and then turned around and stuck it to you, you would have no problem with it? Please.
