Then I don't think we will win. The defense hasn't proven it can win a close game all season. I never thought I would say that about a Sioux defense, but I just did. This will be a high scoring game (45-42) if we win.

It's a Saturday night game in California against a team we haven't played since the 2001 Division II National Semifinals at the Alerus Center. Somehow, I think this will be a little higher scoring then that game was! Prediction UC-Davis 42 UND 30 Come on boys, prove me wrong this time! GO SIOUX!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Ted Turner has anything to do with CNN anymore. It's run by the corporate suits at Time Warner. That's the biggest problem with the media right now, too much corporate ownership and influence.

Let's hope that tonight's third period will give the boys some confidence for their home opener against Wisconsin on Halloween night. I think another loss tonight would have sent us spiraling downward to a 1-5 start (at least). Let's hope this win can change things.

I also like Chris Wallace, who hosts Fox News Sunday. He asks tough, no-nonesense questions of both Republicans and Democrats. Tim Russert's passing was a big blow to legitimate journalism. Same with Peter Jennings. Fox and Friends is just sickening to watch. A bunch of well-dressed, passive-agressive talking heads who probably can't stand each other off camera. Thank God I am not a morning person and can't even get up early enough to watch it.

I think we should just play Eidsness and live with the ups and downs that a young goaltender will go through. The Gophers did that last year with Kangas and now they have someone who is ready to carry the load. This looks like a rebuilding year (like 94-95 and 01-02), which means we should have an open competition each and every week in practice for playing time. No star system allowed. And that includes former Hobey Baker Award winners. That is the only way we are going to salvage this mess and build on last year.

I don't think anyone is saying that. But it is fair to question why this team looks so bad to start every single season.
