I think an All-Canadian concept would work much better than that whole "Minnesota Pride on Ice" thing did. They definitely have more than enough players to fill all three leagues.
-
Please don't go back to that. I for one want nothing to do with the CHL, the mortal enemy of NCAA Division I Hockey. Time for College Hockey, Inc. to step it up and even the playing field.
-
If Canadians don't like U.S. kids in the CHL, just make it an all-Canadian league. Of course, that means a lot of talented kids would stay in the U.S. and Europe. But if patriotism is that important to them, then please go right on ahead. NCAA hockey will step in and fill the void for you!

POLL: Should UND-NDSU Resume the Football Series?

If all these recruiting "chest bumps" don't translate into W's in the record books, then we know what the problem is. And it wouldn't be "players not making plays".
-
I certainly don't feel sorry for them.

This weekend at home vs. Holy Cross marks the beginning of our second-half push for NCAA Title #8!!!

Yeah, I hate the conflict with our home series. I so wish we were on the road this weekend.

Yeah, and Whiskey Joe Chapman had no idea that unilaterally increasing the cost of the President's house would cause an uproar. -

You reap what you sow. You want to come on here and trash talk and stir crap up? Then you get the horns attached to the bull. Like I have told you before, all this crap you and your fellow Bison trolls are dishing out will be used against you when the tables are turned in the future. So please, by all means, keep it coming. -
If the answer to this question is no, we shouldn't have moved up in the first place. We could have joined the NSIC and kept winning at the Division II level on a shoestring budget. But we didn't, so we better not take the frugal-prudent-close to the vest approach and settle for middle of the pack teams in our Big Sky sports. This was an issue discussed on ss.com (and in other communication mediums) when we were talking about moving up and I hope that the athletic department took into account the financial costs of being a winner at the Division I level.

Grant Potulny did a lot of North Dakota bashing after he signed with the Gophers. So please excuse us if we don't bless the ground he walks on. As for Blais not doing well last year, that was tough to swallow. But he did put together a great team that won Gold in 2010. Shutting up that Canadian crowd in Saskatoon was priceless.

"Anyone, Anytime..........as long as it's in the FFD (Fabulous Fargo Dome)" "Anyone, Anytime..........as long as it's a team we have a 99% chance of beating" "Anyone, Anytime..........as long as it's a team good enough for the media to hype up into a strong opponent" But you are right, unconditional "Anyone, Anytime" simply does not exist in Imperial Cass.

NYTimes - Universities Chase Big-Time Glory in FBS
fightingsioux4life replied to jimdahl's topic in NCAA News
Another reason to get rid of some of these lower-level bowl games. All they do is suck up precious resources and reward teams for 6-6 records. The FBS playoff can't come soon enough; that will make loads and loads of cash. -

The evidence you cited proves that FBS is a bad idea for most schools. -
College Hockey 2012/13 (non UND Hockey)

Or maybe they promised him the moon, like they always do. I hope it works out for him, but a lot of kids get burned by the CHL and their over-the-top promises of NHL success. -
I think that was on purpose. Sometimes, the loudest voice in the room gets the attention.

March 1st, 2009. One of the top 10 greatest games in REA history.

He did UND games back in the early to mid 1990's. The road game at Northern Colorado in 1994 was just awful for UND; it was our last loss before we made that magical run to the national semifinals. Clay Wagner kept throwing incompletions and Scott Miller kept saying "In and out of the hands", "In and out of the hands", "In and out of the hands". Then he said "I don't want to make it sound like these passes are being dropped." What else are people listening going to think? I honestly felt like reaching thru the radio, grabbing him by the collar and telling him to knock it off. The Bison are stuck with him now and they can keep him. -
FAN VOTE: Greatest Sioux Jersey Ever Tournament!
fightingsioux4life replied to Big A HG's topic in Men's Hockey
I think the championship will be between one of the 1980's-era Blackhawk logo designs and one of the 2000's-era REA logo designs. It will be old school fans vs. new school fans. That will tell us the age group of the people that frequent this forum and Big A HG's web page. -

I cannot WAIT until these two teams lock horns again!!! And I hope it's in the playoffs, so UND can make Scott Miller say "My, Oh, My" for totally different reasons. -

Please tell me you don't really believe that the National Past-Its-Time is more popular than the NFL by a 4 to 1 margin?!?! If you believe that, I have a ski resort in Cancun, Mexico I would like to sell you. The NFL is the sports juggernaut of the television era. And saying that a 10 to 1 edge in total number of games is a "surface answer" is insane. It's one of the biggest reasons why the National Past-Its-Time has more people attending games. In a lot of markets, they also have cheap ticket deals for families because that is what they have to do to put butts in the seats. Meanwhile, NFL games are really expensive to go to for a reason; the demand is higher because people love the product, which means it prices some people out of the market, so they watch the games on television. There is a reason the Super Bowl gets mega-ratings every year and the World Series gets crap ratings unless there are two big market teams in it. As for getting rid of FCS, that is not going to happen. Football is much different than basketball. If you have one superstar in basketball, you can build a championship team around that player. But football is a numbers game. If you don't have the numbers, if you don't have the depth, you will get killed. Putting everyone at FBS would be comical; 80% of the teams wouldn't be competitive with the top 20% and I am being charitable about that number. There is a reason we have four different divisions for football (DI FBS, DI FCS, DII, DIII): common sense. -
Vikings win 37-34. AP finishes 9 yards short of the record. AP does join the exclusive club of running backs that have rushed for 2,000+ in a season and the Vikings join the playoff field!!! Skol Vikings!!!
