This isn't an either/or thing. We can have great gameday experiences for both programs. We must stop limiting ourselves with false choices. And if hockey doesn't turn it around quickly, we'll have an attendance problem there too. There is only so much scoring on yourself you can get away with before people stop coming.

I have supported this program since I was 6 or 7 years old and I always will. But that doesn't mean I should have to be fine with the mediocrity and underachievement we have right now. Something that group doesn't understand.

Correct. There are five coaches that should be sent packing: Hockey, MBB, WBB, VB and softball. Track and field is doing great. FB and soccer have newly hired coaches who need time to prove themselves. But the biggest change that needs to be made is at the top of the department. Chaves must go.

I agree with you 100%, I was mocking those people who are always coming up with excuses and alibis for our current coaches/administrators and why we just can't do anything about it. And this applies to several other programs on campus as well. The Rutgers model is not acceptable for UND. It's time to clean house.

And there were 750,000 reasons why Bubba wasn't going anywhere. Letting our signature athletic program decay into nothing because we aren't willing to buy out the final year of his contract is simply unacceptable. Enough of the Grade A certified bull$h!t around here. I'm tired of all the excuses and alibis offered as to why we can't do anything about the current sorry state of our athletic programs. I have had it.

I agree with you. Unfortunately, there are certain individuals here who will insist that President Armacost has absolutely nothing to do with what happens in the athletic department. These same individuals will also insist that Chaves is a great A.D. who serves on a bunch of committees and brought the prestigious, all important Alston Awards to UND. I, on the other hand, think that if Chaves isn't willing to make the necessary changes within the athletic department, it's time to replace him with someone who will. andrew.armacost@und.edu
