They definitely don't want to lose on Senior Night, but with the league title wrapped up and their attention turned towards the playoffs, tonight is a possible trap game. It would be nice to maintain this momentum into the first round and beyond.
-
I wonder if someone will start b!tching about that too. I hope not, I think it is funny.

Not to be a grammar Nazi, but it's "roll". And written communication is easy to misread; that is why we have emoticons. Want a sweep tonight, even though we really don't need it.
-
I hope so, but a simple or (sarcasm) or /sarcasm at the end of the message would have cleared up any confusion.

UND (10-6) @ Montana (13-3) (3/3 8 PM)

Hey now, quit bringing common sense and logic into this debate! It's confusing the "Extend Jones" camp! -
Really? Unless you put a at the end of it or put (sarcasm) at the end of it, how can you be sure of that?

An 8-1 thumping of Western Michigan. An undisputed, outright Penrose Cup Championship. And you are complaining? The boys got a 5-0 lead and took their foot off the gas pedal. It happens in all sports. Do you really think they would have gotten sloppy if the game was 2-0 or even 3-0? Let's enjoy tonight for what it is and not look for things to worry about.

Agreed. Let's keep it rolling.

UND (10-6) @ Montana (13-3) (3/3 8 PM)

There is a recurring pattern with this program with regard to playing road games against good teams. And the only common denominator is the guy in charge of the program. And no, it isn't the team captain either. -
Idaho has two choices: 1) Either drop down to FCS for football or 2) Drop football as a varsity sport. We'll soon find out which option they will go with.

But remember, all Jones does is put together a line-up card and then sit back and watch. He isn't out there playing, so nothing that happens is on him (sarcasm). This team teases us with signs of progress and then pulls this crap. -
Fraternities and Sororities were hard-core righties when I was in school, but maybe that has changed. I don't think it has. And PBS is always asking for private donations because they need them; they are not 100% government funded like you implied. And I never had a professor impose his beliefs and/or opinions on me when I was in school. My professors (with few exceptions) were awesome to work with and were always open and welcoming during their office hours. Personally, I think righties want a college experience that caters to their worldview. That is what private schools are for (Liberty Bob Jones, etc.). But remember, you have to pay for it yourself, no "sponging" off the government for loans and grants.
-
And what would you call what Rush Limbaugh does day after day? I guess it depends on where you stand, doesn't it? For what it's worth, the fraternities and sororities on campus are very right-leaning and are a powerful force on-campus and in the community. And the business and aviation schools probably lean more to the right as well. So there is some balance there. Bottom line is that UND is a great place to get an education and I want to keep it that way.

There are plenty of other, stronger reasons not to join the Little 6. -

And I have laid out an alternative that would accomplish exactly what you are saying. And you pooh-poohed it because it isn't REA. Well, the world doesn't revolve around REA and this is one of those times. -

Hey, I have zero problem rotating it from city to city. What I have a problem with is Fargo getting it forever. -

You could probably make an argument to have all major tournaments in Fargo too, but that doesn't make it a good idea. And I believe that is the end game here. Look out Bismarck and Minot, they are coming for you next. Moving the tournament to Purpur is not as radical as some people on here make it sound. And I don't apologize for advocating for Grand Forks. This is my home and the home of UND and that means what is good for Grand Forks is good for UND. -

It is simply too big for this tournament. Add to that the lost revenue from the suite-holders getting in for free and the high rent and this is a no-brainer decision. And the only reason Scheels Arena is hosting the West Regional is because of the NCAA's asinine "neutral site" policy with regard to regional tournaments. If not for that, it would be at REA, where it would almost definitely sell out like it did in 2006. -

This is why moving the tournament to Purpur is a good idea. No suite-holders getting free tickets, much lower rent, better atmosphere, more excitement. Some people will grouse about not having it in REA, but it is just too big for this tournament.
