But according to @jdub27, sending emails gets results (sarcasm). It is simply not true.

I hate jam-packed stores.
-
I was thinking the exact same thing!

Explain Baxter/Brainerd, MN having one then? There definitely are not 200,000 people within 5 miles of that one.
-
If this becomes our goal, we should just apply to join the Pioneer League.
-
Then Bismarck shouldn't have one. There is no way there is 200,000 people within 5 miles of Bismarck.
-
Thank you, I keep forgetting about that Gateway Drive/U.S. 2 location. Even though I like shopping there.

Costco planning to expand in U.S. and overseas over next 10 years This article came out on September 23, 2023. Some food for thought on this topic.
-
Bismarck was probably designed to service Western North Dakota as a whole, including the oil patch workers. A large percentage of North Dakota's population lives east of I-29, so there are a lot of people to service. Also, you have NW Minnesota, which Grand Forks is much closer to than Fargo. With oil still being extracted out west, I wouldn't be surprised if Minot gets one as well.
-
Based on this logic, Grand Forks shouldn't have a Super Walmart, Sam's Club or Super Target either. But we do. Also, if Brainerd/Baxter, MN can have a Costco, then Grand Forks is definitely big enough to have one.

Thanks. If Omaha doesn't make the tournament (a distinct possibility), I believe we'll be placed in Sioux Falls to enhance attendance. -
I see what you did there.

Aren't we the host of the Sioux Falls regional? And if not, who is? -

Great news! A Top 4 finish in the PWR in March will get us a #1 seed and placement in Sioux Falls. -
It isn't a unique take, you are correct. But some people still believed it would never actually happen.

Much to the chagrin of several people on this forum.

Is this the P5-G5 split I predicted several years ago? What shockwaves will be generated from this that will impact schools in all current Divisions/Subdivisions?
-
Fair enough, but I have serious doubts that Bubba is the person to take our program any further.
-
You are suggesting a choice exists between winning and the things you mentioned. That is absolutely not true. The belief in this false choice is one of the things holding us back.
-
Good point. I think those new requirements for schools being FBS will force some G5 programs to drop down to FCS when they go into effect in a few years. Some of them simply won't be able to meet the requirements.
-
Which FBS teams? G5 or P5. Because G5 and P5 are in the same subdivision in name only.
-
How many athletes at the FCS level would be attractive to a FBS program? They ended up in FCS for a reason. Not many players slip under the radar anymore. Jim Kleinsasser would have likely ended up at an FBS school if he were graduating high school today. Aside from the occasional "late bloomers", I don't see a lot of FCS players being offered by FBS schools.

2023-24 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

You have to win your conference home games, because you will lose some conference games on the road. The league is just too good top to bottom. We lost to Miami at home last season. And it didn't help our cause at the end of the year. -
If we can't afford to do what is necessary to be competitive in Division I, we should move FB to the Pioneer League or just drop the sport. Or move back down to Division II, where we can win with very few resources. This Division I move was poorly planned from the start. Doing something this large and consequential because someone else did it (NDSU, SDSU) is never a good reason to do something. The results (or lack thereof) are all the evidence you need.
