  1. At the 9:21 mark of the 3rd quarter is where we blocked the punt and ran it in for a TD to go up 31-3. What did you expect Freund to call after that? It was going to safe plays that wasn't going to result in any turnovers or loss of yardage. Could they have run the ball better and moved the chains more often in the second half? Sure. But, after the blocked punt for a TD, I am not sure Weah even played another down. He is a huge part of this offense. Not having him in there shows. And I am glad he wasn't. No need to risk injury. the game was over after that score. No need to put plays on film for JMU. Not like Missouri St was doing anything on offense. Even after the QB change. All Freund and Bubba wanted to do was run out the clock and get through the game with no injuries. (Almost did that). The game was over at 9:21 of the 3rd. There is a difference between an offense that is trying to put points on the board and an offense that is just running out the clock. they way our defense was playing, there was almost zero chance they were coming back in the game.
  2. The announced attendance at the Alerus on Saturday; 3074. That is exactly 25%. Announced attendance at the Fargodome on Saturday; 3587. That is 19%. Just found that rather interesting.
  3. Well, when we are up big against JMU in the 4th, he should get some snaps!!
  4. So since we beat both SDSU and now Missouri St, and they were both co-champs with us, I guess that makes us undisputed MVFC Champs!!
  5. Starters have been of 5 weeks. Wouldn’t be the worst move to keep them in for more game reps.
  6. Great half. Now keep the pedal to the metal in the 2nd half.
  7. That was a game changing overturn there. They get a first down there a get a TD, it’s a game. If we score a TD, this thing might be over
  8. Which team did we have to worry about getting sacks again?
  9. I’m guessing we see the business suits tomorrow. Might as well go with what works!! Almost Gameday!!!
  10. Gee, you think it might have been nice to maybe change the policy before the FCS playoffs started!! http://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/media-center/news/ncaa-updates-fan-attendance-policy-upcoming-outdoor-championships The NCAA will allow up to 50% fan capacity for its 2021 outdoor spring championships and Division I fall championships being held in the spring, based on recommendations from the NCAA COVID-19 Medical Advisory Group
  11. The bar for NDSU quarterbacks has been set. And it's pretty high. If they don't lead the team to a National Championship or get drafted in the first round of the NFL, they are busts. Harsh, but it is the expectations Bison fans have become accustomed to this past decade. So naturally they think any recruit or transfer is going to be great. Just look at the hype Bison fans were giving Zeb before this season. They were debating whether Zeb would come back for his "super Senior" season or declare for the NFL draft!! Bison will be good. Will they be great and make another run to Frisco? That is to be determined. And, not necessarily a sure thing.
  12. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/football/6997541-Five-things-to-know-about-UND-footballs-playoff-opponent-Missouri-State#.YIJAmMofupQ.twitter A big factor for this game is who will be under center for the Bears. 3. We still don't know Missouri State's QB It remains a guessing game who Missouri State will start at quarterback. The Bears have rotated between Jaden Johnson and Matt Struck. Struck suffered a concussion in Missouri State's final game against Youngstown State and didn't participate in workouts last week. Struck was the Idaho State quarterback in 2019 when UND was beat 55-20 in Pocatello. Struck was 23-for-41 passing for 396 yards and five touchdowns in that game. This year, Struck has played in six games and is 41-for-64 passing for 477 yards and two touchdowns. Johnson has played in seven games. He's 92-for-165 for three touchdowns to six interceptions. Johnson, a Southern Miss transfer, is considered more of the running threat, as he has carried 87 times for 76 yards. Struck has carried 18 times for 15 yards.
  13. Some might think that our offense is going to come out slow after the long layoff. But I think our guys are going to come out of the gates firing! This team not only has had to wait 5 weeks between games, but are coming off a loss where they want to get right back out there and prove they are a good team. This team plays great at home, especially this season. Prediction a hot start then just pounding the ball as the game progresses. Missouri St has had a good spring, but they have played mediocre against some average to poor teams. Time to show them who the real Valley Champion is this year!!! 31-17 HAWKS!!!
  14. So on October 2nd we get to beat the Bison in football and the Bisons in hockey, all on the same day!!
  15. I sure hope they don't take pictures on the sacred Bison logo at midfield if they win. Phil Hansen might lose it!
  16. Sam Herder ranks the playoff fields chance to win the Championship this year. Has UND smack dab in the middle of the pack. https://herosports.com/fcs-football-favorites-spring-national-champion-bzbz/ 8. North Dakota UND last played on March 20. Will there be rust? Probably not, honestly. SDSU looked great last weekend against NDSU after four weeks between games. JMU looked great in a March 27 win against William & Mary after three weeks off and against Richmond on April 17 after another few weeks off. The Fighting Hawks should come out on fire at home, where they haven’t lost since 2018. Playing fellow MVFC co-champ Mo State isn’t ideal, but UND is in a good spot to win its first-ever FCS playoff win. A quarterfinal game at JMU is a different story.
  17. Continuing to inspire. Can’t say enough about this young man.
  18. Otis Weah, Tommy Schuster, And Bubba Schweigert all nominated for the Walter Payton Award (Player of the year), Jerry Rice Award (Freshman player of the year) and the Eddie Robinson Award (FCS Coach of the year) respectively. https://theanalyst.com/na/2021/04/fcs-college-football-walter-payton-award-finalists/ https://theanalyst.com/na/2021/04/fcs-college-football-jerry-rice-award-finalists/ https://theanalyst.com/na/2021/04/fcs-college-football-eddie-robinson-award-coach-finalists/
  19. This year was a year they could have seeded the entire field given the circumstances. Home field in football is so much bigger than any other sport. Would love to see the top 16 seeded every year moving forward, but that would require the NCAA to do something logical.
  20. It's been like that forever it seems. I think they should always seed the top 16 teams every year and the highest team hosts. But the NCAA wants to make as much money as possible, so they use the current system.
