I think its great how all these Bison fans were talking up Trayvon Wright and how he can "jump out of the gym" and kept talking about his dunk against USD and that there was no way UND was going to stop him. Well, I would say 8 points and 4 rebounds is pretty much shutting him down!! Sure he can make some dunks, but he got absolutely worked on the boards. All 5 starters for UND had more rebounds than Trayvon....even 5'10" Aaron Anderson out rebounded and even outscored him!!

Great game to be at last night. Who said this isn't a rivalry??!! I hope they schedule this game every year! First half was ugly for both teams but our boys came through in the end. Ending on a 14-4 run to close out the game it was great!! Great to see all the students there last night!! Must have been close to 500 there!! Hopefully this will spark some interest in the student body and everyone else in GF so we can get the Betty rocking the rest of the year!!

Can't both fan bases just agree that this is a big game for both schools? This game was circled on both teams calenders. It's a game with your rival for many years. Yes I know we are not in the same conference, but it's a game between teams that play 75 miles away from each other that are playing for the 284th time. Instead of arguing over who it is bigger for, lets just agree that it is a big game for everyone involved: fans, players, coaches....everyone!!

Yes SUU is mediocre and they will always be mediocre. They are a mediocre regional school in the middle of nowhere..having to slug it out with BYU, Utah State and Utah. Their football team beat UNLV and lost to every Dakota school they played and their basketball team went to the dance once 11 years ago...la ti fricken da.
The students aren't on sighting seeing trips, it is business. You fly in, go to where you need to go and get back. In between they have to do things like practice and most importantly study because they are missing a significant amount of class time. So I don't think these kids really care where they are traveling to, they care more about playing against better competition and like has been said before the Summit and Big Sky are similar in the regard.
Just pick up a game with NAU? Yep just a short 6-7 hour drive to Flagstaff from Cedar City. Seriously what kind of warped reality do some of you Sioux fans live in?
I love how Bison fans are ripping on the Big Sky....a conference they so desperately wanted to be in 5-6 years ago!!! Why was it so good for NDSU back in 2005 but now it is so horrible? What is different?

To get to SUU you have to fly into Vegas and take a two hour bus trip just to get there. Besides that there are no schools near SUU, so you fly in there for one game and then fly out. So yes SUU is in the middle of nowhere compared to current Summit members.
Everyone is ecstatic to be rid of that school, SUU was nothing but a burden on the budgets of Summit League schools and nobody was excited to watch their schools play mediocre SUU teams.
I could do the same with Big Sky btw..Flagstaff, Cheney, Bozeman, Missoula, Greeley, etc. Whoever said that the Big Sky and Summit were similar leagues was right.
When the WCHA first started in the 50’s, there were many people saying that it was a mistake for UND to join a league where they had to travel several hours to cities far away like Houghton and Anchorage. And while Denver and Colorado Springs are big cities, they still take a long time to get there. Well looking back at that decision, I would say that UND may the right move to join that conference. Not even debatable.

I was at last years game, and the atmosphere was absolutely flat. I wonder if this year at UND will be better. I am not sure if it was the Fargodome, the fact that we had just lost to Eastern Washington in football, sloppy play in the game...or what.
The Eastern Washington loss definitely played a roll in the atmosphere in the dome last year. I am sure there will be plenty of jacked up Bison fans this year sporting their Championship gear at the Ralph!! Hopefully we will be out cheering all the Bison fans coming up for the game because we will be winning!!! Looking forward to the game already!!!

If you think that rebuttal is better than 9 championships vs. 1 championship have at it. I didn't think it was possible for me to think you were any dumber. Guess I was wrong.
Ok, you guys have 9 Championships and we still have beaten you ore times than you have beaten us!!! And looking at the last decade before we stoped playing, we DOMINATED you. 10 of the last 13 games UND won. Can't argue that is not dominating!!!

We need to get the message to Faison that UND fans do not want to play School of Mines and that doing so could hurt our chances of making the playoffs next year. He needs to be reminded that only D1 wins count in the eyes of the selection committee. Do you part and send him a message to encourage him to schedule a game against ANY FCS school. Sending him the link of the open dates would be good too. You can email him at brian.faison@athletics.und.edu I just emailed him. Lets get him the message that us a s fans are serious about this issue.

With the team down the road winning a National Championship, we will need gain back some of the recruiting advantage we will lose. this will deffinitely help!! But I agree, I won't get excited until I see shovels in the ground!!

To be accurate, the NCAA only recognizes their titles and 3 of the NDSU football titles you purport are poll titles (no playoff).
And per NDSU fans, only Division I matters, hence, please stick to DI.
Unless its hockey, they don't count those either!!!

NDSU has 18, I believe. 9 football, 5 womens basketball, and 4 wrestling. Might be some track and field ones that I may be leaving out. But they deffinitely have the upper hand as fas as National Championships are concerned.

Can you two quit wasting 20 posts on a game preview thread going back and forth about border entry.
It's ridiculous.
I guess I now know how to pad my post count on here.
Just trying to set the record straight for those wanting to go to Canada this weekend. Don't want people to have problems at the border getting back because they were mislead or misinformed. The topic is relevant to the game becasue it involves traveling there and 100% of the people going to the game from ND will be going through Customs. I will stop talking about it.
PS I could care less about my post counts. I don't live on this site.

Ok, what I meant was you were misleading people. You say that they don't need a passport. you say they only need a government ID or a enhanced drivers license. There is a small number of people with a government ID and North Dakota does not issue enhanced drivers license. So over 90% of the people in North Dakota that want to travel to Canada and get back to the US will need a Passport or Passport card or another form of approved ID. By saying that people don't need a pssport is misleading because the majority of people will.
I want to set the record straight so people don't just go up with a drivers license and a birth certificate because if they do the WILL ABSOLUTELY get questioned from customs where their approved WHTI document is. Trust me bud. I know what I am talking about.

That is a true statement. But they can make you life a living hell. I get that you have a passport, but don't go on here telling people they don't need one because if they don't have an appoved document, then Customs chose to have them go to secondary and strip search their car for a couple hours. What I am saying is don't show up withut an approved document (passport, passport card, etc) and give them a reason to hold you for 2 hours
Do what you want, but don't misinform people of what they do and do not have to have.

Here is the deal, I just verfied throught the Pembina Port of Entry, that you don't need to have a passport to get back into the USA from Canada. All you need to have is a Government ID and your Birth Certificate or an inhanced Drivers License. Children under 16 only need to have a Birth Certificate.
If you plan on just showing up with a drivers license, than you will have an extended stop at the border my friend. You are correct with having an enhanced drivers license, but not a lot of states have that, including North Dakota. So I would have a passport or a passport card if you don't want to get hassled.

I don't think you can match what I have pledged in a legacy fund unless you are quite fortunate, but that said, if BSU and their Public TV station can broadcast in HD then so can UND. We do have it pretty good. I remember as a kid listening to the first UND national championship in Rochester NY on a static filled radio so I know how far we have come, but c'mon, we play in a $100+ million arena and on TV it looks like the fog just rolled in off the Red River. Don't compare us to the Bison. Just get UND into the 21st century. Do you know anyone who has bought a standard def TV in the last 5 years? It is time to move on.
Maybe you need to take your own advice and get over the fact that UND hockey games are not aired in HD. If that is not good enough for you, than you need watch something else and quit bitching about it on this site. We get your point, you have made it several times now...Move on!!

Newsflash, Ralph Engelstad died 9 years ago. Amazing how he can manage to run an arena from 6 feet underground....and the fact that he is dead and all.

. So not only do we have to share an interlocking ND with Notre Dame we're also ripping off the Minnesota Wild jersey design. Send these clowns back to the drawing board!By the way, we had the interlocking logo before Notre Dame did. And personally, I think the Green interlocking ND with the black shading is better than our old ND (and Notre Dam's for that matter).
What else is new about stealing designs. How many jerseys have their name diagonally across the jersey? Teams use popular designs as their own all the time. Not sure what the problem is. That Wild jersey is awesome!! I would like to see the date removed though. The 7 stars is a great idea.

Nodaks was UND's unofficial nickname back in the 1920's and even when called the Flickertails people still called UND the Nodaks.
Even more why we should go back to it. Like that better than Flickertails!!

Tailgating before a hockey game....that would be awesome!! This game would be great!! You would get Sioux fans from all over the country to come to this game!! I'm serious! It this game happens, I will deffinitely be there!!!
