  1. Those groups are important to look at, but not most important, IMO. Let's look for FBS drop-down offensive and defensive linemen. Improvement in the trenches will improve this team the fastest; thankfully I think Bubba realizes this.
  2. ESPN Gameday going to Fargo two years in a row is huge for NDSU and their football program. Couple that with UND's poor performance yesterday, and it only further digs UND's hole deeper. Bubba's resurrection job is going to be a real tough one, but I yet have confidence. For starters, have to develop something that looks like a viable offense. Defense and special teams already looked improved (give freshmen recruiting class and FBS transfers credit for that). Next season, Bubba should look into FBS transfers for the offense, IMO. Bottom line, need quality recruiting classes each and every year and continual discipline (turnovers and penalties) improvement.
  3. Agreed. Sounds like Bubba (going off post game comments) will consider playing Shaugabay more. Wth that, I think Garman should be replaced by Shaugabay. Garman is not suited for this level of football. Another RB that Mussman recruited that can't get the job done.
  4. Speaking of inflatable helmet, what the heck happened to that yesterday. They deflated it right before the players could enter through it…
  5. Cheatom played. Shea Walker and Reyes will help though next week.
  6. Don't agree. I liked the format. Like the advertising the next game to the casual fans and I like not having to check my phone for scores.
  7. Offense was horsesh*t. Defense did what it needed to with turnovers and only allowing 13 points. Offense needs to pick it up...big time!
  8. They didn't look too bad actually. Nevertheless, still need new ones.
  9. The new video boards at the Alerus Center are very very nice!! Go UND!
  10. After last week's performance, I'm pretty sure we're going to see a heavy dose of Cedric Simmons today. I'd say around 20 carries...
  11. UND 31 Robert Morris 10 Have to handily defeat a team like this if 5-7 or 6-6 is going to happen...
  12. Difficult season, yes. 0-12 season, no.
  13. S Cole Reyes is out for tomorrow's game.
  14. He does have a point though... If we can't handily defeat Robert Morris of the NEC, then it will be a long, difficult conference season. I'm optimistic of the ability of the UND student-athletes, even the freshmen, when compared to RMU. San Jose State had the better talent vs UND, but UND should have the better talent vs RMU. I expect a win by at least a couple scores.
  15. Most predictions indicating a close game...that's got me a bit nervous. Sure would like to see UND win by at least two possessions...
  16. Yeah, that's very surprising about the safeties. Losing Reyes, Carr, and Montague, as reported by SFI, seems a little excessive. Plus Dom Blackmon should be in the mix also, I do believe. Nevertheless, Bubba never alluded to any injuries during his Monday press conference, so I sure hope the same lineup that played vs SJSU can see the field again tomorrow vs RMU. It's the only way the team can continually improve.
  17. Why not throw out predictions, I guess... Robert Morris lost by 19 at home with 4 takeaways... I personally think this young UND team will improve from week 1 to week 2 and show something at home: I say UND wins by 21, so I'll go 31-10 UND.
  18. I agree wholeheartedly. And for the record, I certainly am excited for tomorrow's game! This team will continue to improve each and every week if Bubba is doing the things I think he and his staff are capable of. Plus, I'm excited to witness in-person Bubba lead UND football!
  19. Only major difference I notice is Cheatom is now in the defensive line rotation; he must have been suspended last week. Add in Shea Walker next week and increased experience for the 2 true freshmen defensive ends and the defensive line should continue improving. As for Cheatom playing end, he'll get more playing time at that spot as both Hinojosa and Shea Walker will rotate at the nose guard spot; that is, when Walker finishes serving his suspension.
  20. Robert Morris offensive lineman Jon Hill on UND: "This team is bigger but they're not as athletic, they're just kind of like trying to plug stuff up. If we can get a push on them and move them out, from an offensive line standpoint, we should be just fine because they don't pass rush very well at all," he said. Those are some interesting statements. Well, we'll just have to see how it goes I guess.
  21. "Whether you think you can, or you think you can't -- you're probably right." --Henry Ford Having positive expectations goes a long way towards producing and winning football games. This was a major issue with Mussman; he never exuded a trace of confidence.
  22. I'm sorry, but scr*w that conservative expectation bullsh*t. I understand this season is about rebuilding and implementing a new culture, but time and time again college football programs rise up from the ashes and perform well after one season. So you're telling me, not even 2 games into 2014, that UND football will be irrelevant in 2015 and possibly 2016 too? That's absolute bullsh*t. I expect consistent improvement because any other DI institution looking for championships would expect the same thing. I believe this season will constitute a losing record (4 to 5 wins), but why not improve a to 6-5 or 7-4 in 2015?? This lackadaisical approach that some "supporters" have is bullsh*t. You may call it "realistic" but I call it d*mn lazy! At the rate some have in mind, Mussman would be still be HC, NDSU would continue winning EVERY worthy recruiting battle, and the Alerus would be decreasing in attendance weekly. It's time for UND to become a top FCS football program. This season it won't happen, but with plausible improvement each season, this team could be having a winning season by next season. And even if they don't, why are you throwing out whole seasons just assuming they're already "lost" seasons? That's ridiculous. End of rant. Happy Potato Bowl Week and Go UND!
  23. http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Harry-Momoh-143291;_ylt=A0LEVine1wdU1QUAxK0PxQt.;_ylu=X3oDMTBya3R2ZmV1BHNlYwNzcgRwb3MDNARjb2xvA2JmMQR2dGlkAw-- 3 star Rivals recruit...hope everything works out because it appears that he would be a great addition to the 2015 recruiting class... Oh, and I have to say (again) that Bubba's first full season recruiting class is shaping up wonderfully! Have to give his staff credit too!
  24. Well...
  25. You may want to believe that, but that doesn't mean its true. Recruits have had nothing but great things to say about Bubba and his staff; in fact, UND having 7 recruits already verballed indicates the new football staff is probably UND's greatest strength.
