Very good offensive player on film. I see him as being very similar to Santiago. Could play running back, receiver, and/or return specialist.
-
Very good point.

Thanks for the summary; however, I still think those rankings and ratings are not worth much. Recruiting websites miss players all the time, and for that reason, Bubba's staff does their own evaluations and they trust what they see, not what they hear. The elite camps on campus have been an absolute success in terms of UND recruiting and prospect assessment. Like you mentioned, Santiago, Studsrud, Grady, etc. are not on these lists; exactly why in-person scouting of ALL appropriate regional prospects is the right thing to do.
-
I disagree. Bubba has fond memories of some of the 70s teams that donned gray helmets and pants. I definitely think this move is more geared towards a throwback look than it is to be contemporary. After all, Bubba is real old school when it comes to uniforms.
-
Late to the party. Gray was utilized by UND in the 1970s. I agree that it is out of line with current colors and a black set should've been added before gray, but gray is a true throwback color for UND.
-
Best combo would be gray helmets, green jerseys, and gray pants, in my opinion. I wouldn't mind seeing that home combo every single home game. Gray helmets NEED to have the same green and white striping as the gray pants, though. Beautiful throwback look!

Bring it on 'Yotes Go UND Fighting Hawks!

Different colors and style of course, but here's that same concept (logo on one side, numbers on the other side) with South Dakota State's helmets in 2015:
-
UND did create those and then personally sent them out to the recruits. The recruits are free to do what they wish with them after that.
-
If the logo will only be on one side, then what goes on the other side? Numbers? Interlocking ND? Nothing? I personally think the player's number should go on the opposite side of the helmet; that would look quite throwback and sharp as well, in my opinion.
-
We all know what that truthfully means ...

I agree. I would much appreciate UND Athletics emphasizing UND football with a season long series, much like what they do with their beloved hockey program and "Through These Doors". I think such a series would only help to increase the popularity of football in Grand Forks and the surrounding region.
-
1970s UND football. Consider this throwback/classic. I would like to see a black set (helmet/jersey/pants) also though. It's a school color and it is more appealing to recruits (i.e. Blackout games).
-
Im firmly of the opinion that any apparel deal is better than no deal at all. I'm thankful UND is at least consistent now in wearing Adidas gear.
-
As I mentioned earlier, grey helmet, green jersey, and grey pants would look the sharpest in my opinion.
-
Exactly, this could be looked at as more of a throwback than a new age change up. Looking forward to the helmet(s) now.
-
No, same shoulder stripping pattern as current green and white adidas jerseys.
-
New alternate gray uniforms for this season. They look nice. Now add a nice gray helmet with green/white striping down the middle and it will look beautiful. I personally want to see the old 70s combo of gray helmet, green jersey, and gray pants -- I think that combination would be my favorite.

Thanks for stopping by! Feel free to talk all the football you want here! By the way, It's University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks now, due to a long drawn-out process. I look forward to the game this season on September 10th.

Great news. As I've mentioned, I agree winning and the FANS EXPECTING UND TO WIN EVERY GAME will increase the overall attendance and following for UND football. With that, still doesn't hurt to talk other ideas (team intro, season ticket locations, in-game features, etc.) that may also help increase UND football popularity.

I agree winning helps but where were all the fans right after UND beat Wyoming? Or the game versus Northmen Colorado that was thought to be a de facto playoff game at the time. The diffusion of responsibility that is present when discussing ideas that may increase attendance is staggering. The team must win, yes, but it also doesn't hurt to explore additional ideas. I don't see anything wrong with talking about certain possible changes when one looks at how low attendance has relatively been over the past 5 years or so. I hope the team wins more than anyone so I also hope that is the main factor that ultimately boosts attendance. Fact is the team went 7-4 last season and yet the Alerus Center never once hosted over 10,000 in attendance.

I don't really want to revisit this controversial debate again, but if the students don't want to attend in large numbers -- especially with promotions like this -- then the student section should be downsized to allow for more season ticket holders to obtain those premium midfield seats on the west side. In my opinion, there's no reason the midfield seats on the west side should be essentially empty during a close game in the 4th quarter; it looks just piss poor on TV and, of course, in person.

I don't think you understand the concept of bandwagon fans, especially of the UND hockey/NDSU football type. I know of several "NDSU fans" (purely bandwagon) who could possibly be in attendance for the UND Potato Bowl vs USD because of the potential UND hype and NDSU being out of town. These are the same "NDSU fans" that I saw at UND football games regularly before NDSU's current championship run starting in 2011. By no means am I clamining that I know exactly what the masses will do (that's why I am just estimating a wide range of possibilities in terms of Potato Bowl attendance); however, I do know bandwagon, casual fans exist and it is not synonymous with the UND hockey/Bemidji State hockey example you provided ....
