Tonight's game fires up this discussion again, in my opinion.
-
Missed way too many free throws. Embarrassing, actually. That point of emphasis was obviously not made by coach Brian "Jump Around" Jones prior to tonight's game. NDSU also hit a high percentage of 3-pointers. I guess one could argue UND should've played tighter defense at the 3-point line. Poor, poor performance tonight for UND. Sure stings given the opportunity was there to sweep NDSU on the same night their precious football program lost.
-
Great that NDSU football lost tonight -- was fun watching the NDSU game end at the basketball game. Too bad that the UND basketball team had to choke away a game against NDSU. It takes away some of the excitement from tonight.
-
It Faison could extend Mussman and Jones for accomplishing pseudo-championships then UND and Faison sure as hell better extend Bubba NOW. As long as UND's athletic department is headed by Faison, it will be at least semi-dysfunctional.
-
It's an embarrassment at this point, though.
-
See comments on camps. Take it to the bank.
-
Couldn't agree more; it's one of the biggest differences between Mussman regime and the current one under Bubba. Recruiting camps allow you to recruit a lot of intangibles not seen on tape and that has led to much better recruiting classes for UND since Bubba has been here. John Santiago is one such example of a player that is here at UND due to UND's summer camps.

Watched his hudl. He's a very good looking athlete. Its another addition to UND's roster that appears big-time!
-
NC A&T/Richmond 4 right to lay an egg in the Hawks' Nest!

Absolutely. -
I would say January if UND is playing for a national championship, but that's just me ... January 2018 could be a good one!
-
Great recruiting day! A lot of very talented future UND student-athletes!! Future is bright! I continue to like what Bubba and his staff are doing more and more! Go Fighting Hawks!
-
Patience, my friend. They're coming. This team also needs pure [D1] athleticism and they're getting it.
-
I like it.
-
Good point. UND may have to recruit towards a primary return specialist. Maybe the commit from Washington state (Cameron McKinney) can excel at return duties ..... I know that Seibel is not the answer. He can't get it done.
-
The best strategy some of you can come up with is to go for it on 4th down? Wow. NDSU would crush teams (more than they have been) if opponents ignored field position and started going for it all the time. Field position is key against a time of possession team like NDSU.
-
It obviously didn't even out: look at the final score. College football is largely dependent on momentum and SDSU lost a ton of momentum on that play.
-
As the past postseasons have proven time and time again, good teams show up to the Fargodome and become average teams. We need to strive to turn the Alerus Center into that kind of an advantage. Best chance for an NDSU loss is versus EWU in Frisco but I certainly will be hoping for a JMU win on Friday night.
-
From watching some of Fargo South's games a few years back, there was no doubt which kid on that team was the superior talent (hint: he went to a Big Ten school) That said, both are good players and UND offered Brooks out of high school along with Johannesson.
-
No, he's a tremendous athlete that could play multiple spots. The more student-athletes with talent like this, the better. Excellent work Bubba and staff; keep on improving the depth! Don't worry; the QB, OL, and DB spots will be addressed this recruiting season as well. The future is bright!
-
HA ... I know many NDSU fans as well (hard not to these days) and of course there are many good, fair people in that contingent. With that said, the (perhaps natural) arrogance that has come about after 5 straight national titles is too much. College football needs more parity than that or else programs get big heads and others dislike them. Just the way it is. Same goes for Alabama over the past 5 years or so.
-
Illegal man downfield hurt big-time too. Would've been 19-17 if that score stood.
-
Its just damn near impossible to beat NDSU at home, especially in the playoffs when the pressure is on. Best chance for NDSU to lose is on the road in postseason (won't be this season) or in Frisco, even though that's damn near a home game for them too. More than anything, UND needs to take notes on how to win at home in the Alerus Center with crowd noise. Have to take advantage of homefield ... advantage.
-
That's what makes competition fun. It's the way it should be. There is a line, though, that NDSU fans have crossed often lately.
-
You're correct. 2019 @ Fargo (barring NDSU doesn't buy out)

Sure, maybe just half are a disgusting group in terms of what they say about the flagship of North Dakota, THE University of North Dakota. That's the best you'll get out of me. Inferiority complex lives within many of them.
