EWU vs NDSU will be determined by NDSU running all over EWU’s soft defense. NDSU by multiple scores ...
-
Losing kids to Texas is one thing, but Texas State? UND just recently had a kid transfer FROM Texas State to play football at UND (De’Mun Mercer). Can’t lose high quality recruits to non-P5 programs ... damn. Well, next QB recruit up. Freund needs to get a lot more out of that position than what UND has been getting recently. This recruiting hiccup may all be a moot point if Freund gets a lot out of one of the current 3 on roster. [enter critical comments of unfounded optimism here].
-
Until they actually play who knows. All I know is that Case had a tremendous summer camp in front of the UND coaches and he had a prep career every bit as good as Boltman if not better
-
So UND will suck as long as NDSU is good? There’s something to that, but it’s not all bad. Why can’t UND pick out recruits that the other top teams in the region (SDSU, UNI) are vying for?? Point is, I agree that UND is in a tough spot grabbing players that NDSU offers a scholarship to, but UND needs to get players that SDSU and UNI offers scholarships to and Minnesota offers PWO opportunities to. As for Cedric Case, the situation is different in that this is a long commited kid lost “last second”. If not to a P5 team, UND should never lose recruits like that.
-
All FBS schools are not clearly better than all FCS schools - I sure hope that this fallacy is not all it came down to. I don't know the whole story here, but obviously it hurts for UND to lose a highly regarded player who plays the most important position.
-
There will always be competing teams. You have to win and keep commits. UND lost here. Again not end of the world but yeah.
-
Damn. Not good. Obviously not the end of the world for the UND football program but certainly not ideal. Not something a team that just came off a poor offensive season needs.
-
Last time Bubba blatantly ignored a position of need, the Rugby Rifle Heidlebaugh ended up starting a game for UND at QB. Not good (actually horrible)...
-
Rudolph’s offense was always bad, extending from ‘14 - ‘18. End of ‘18 was just when enough was enough. Offensive system was horseshit and not player friendly at all. Too much “square peg through a round hole”. I think the players, namely the QB, were also getting sick of the crap by the end of the season also. It just got worse from there. It’s pretty clear Ketteringham was beyond frustrated the last few games of the year.
-
I honestly think any QB would’ve struggled given the overall offensive dysfunction at the end of last season. No receivers to make plays hurts a lot (many were injured). No tempo or easy throws implemented regularly. The offense really was DISGUSTING to watch, no other way to put it. Thank God Bubba went a different direction offensively with Freund - there was no other option but cleaning house including Bubba.

President Kennedy Comments on HPC Phase II
UND-FB-FAN replied to fightingsioux4life's topic in Other Sports
Likely just an entertainment area for perks within the locker room; not meant for team film study. Film room for study would be apart of meeting rooms, which UND also is supposed to have included with HPC phase II along with locker room and coaches offices.- 205 replies

It wasn’t supposed to be a hockey vs football fight, but some turned it into one by replying to my post (which stated UND football should be compared to NDSU football, obviously enough). This is a FCS football (no mention of hockey) thread. If for some reason you can’t find my first post, here it is: Who cares about Hakstol, Berry, NCAA hockey, hockey-obsessed UND-ignorant Las Vegas-based donors, etc. in the context of this discussion?? UND hockey has no place in this current discussion. FCS Football and NCAA hockey are really becoming (and I guess always have been) apples to oranges comparisons. We all know which is more popular (hint: which sport is more popular). Although I love UND dearly, I hate the comparisons between FCS Football and NCAA hockey. For one, they always end with UND’s fans looking beyond stupid. It is what it is. You’ll only hear “JV football” and “big boy real DI like UND hockey” come from the mouths of jealous, ignorant UND hockey fans. No one else. Face it folks, NDSU’s FCS football success has earned them more popularity than UND men’s ice hockey ever could. Going to Vegas or NYC once every few seasons for a bought destination game (not earned) doesn’t justify that either. I just hope UND’s football program can start reaching the postseason for a start ... Simplification from next post: Bottomline: unless you can prove how comparing an NCAA hockey program to an FCS football program makes more sense than comparing two FCS football programs head-to-head, keep UND hockey out of this football discussion. You can go to the hockey thread if you wish to expand.

That was not my initial post nor my initial interest. You have simply picked a subsequent reply that fits your narrative. As to not confuse those who have trouble reading all the posts before commenting, here are the first two paragraphs I posted which explain my stance: Who cares about Hakstol, Berry, NCAA hockey, hockey-obsessed UND-ignorant Las Vegas-based donors, etc. in the context of this discussion?? UND hockey has no place in this current discussion. FCS Football and NCAA hockey are really becoming (and I guess always have been) apples to oranges comparisons. As such, I’m not touching NCAA hockey when discussing FCS football. Too much bias here for that. I’m only interested in quantitive data as to avoid the hockey bias that doesn’t line up with reality.
-
I’m not interested in comparing NCAA hockey to FCS football in the context of this thread, as I clearly stated in my previous posts. It always ends in UND looking foolish. If you really want to, feel free to message me the actual average attendance of the NCAA hockey semi-finals. These are neutral site games whereas FCS playoffs are not (thus not entirely comparable). What is the average attendance of the NCAA hockey championship game versus FCS football championship game (as both are neutral site games) along with viewership numbers?
-
This is in terms of attendance and ticket availability/price, not level of play. Level of play is not easily comparable, if at all possible.
-
My point is NDSU playoff games, such as the one being played tonight, are not half empty.
-
There is no reason to compare NCAA hockey to FCS football. Compare NCAA hockey programs to each other or FCS football programs (like UND and NDSU) to each other. That’s simply it. No one can detail how it makes sense to do otherwise. As I stated before: I hate the comparisons between FCS Football and NCAA hockey. For one, they always end with UND’s fans looking beyond stupid. It is what it is. You’ll only hear “JV football” and “big boy real DI like UND hockey” come from the mouths of jealous, ignorant UND hockey fans.
-
Can you provide information about the ticket prices and availability?
-
From a price standpoint per ticket (less games for football), it’s NDSU football. UND hockey has more games though and greater variability given the REA (general admission vs suites vs bar seats, etc.). It’s not straightforward at all. Discuss, but remember this thread is FCS football based. As for NDSU football vs Rose Bowl, if only UND hockey could be so lucky to be competitively compared to upper level competition (NHL games?). Hell, the NCAA hockey regionals are typically half empty.
