  1. Bubba Schweigart, Kalen DeBoer, Chris Klieman, and Tim Tibesar to name a few.

There are also a lot of wildcard options, like Reese Morgan, the defensive line coach at Iowa who recruits the Dakotas.

part of the reason i am making a big issue with finding out how much rea gives to und athletics is bc the next coach of und fb should be tim tibesar but its gonna take 250k plus to get him (if we can get him at all) and if rea can give a little more to get the fb team up to d1 standards lets get it done!!

  2. 1) I don't think that is the 990 for the full organization. It seems to only be part of the organization. My guess is that they have more than 1 501©3 set up. It might be the 990 for the Betty, but that is just a guess.

    2) You probably have to read through any explanations. I doubt that it's as simple as picking out 1 of those lines. Sometimes the answer is in one of the schedules later in the document.

    3) You may need to talk with someone at REA to get the explanation or break out the number.

i guess they have three different 990's...bottom line how much does rea give on any given year?? you would think that they would do that large fake check promotion to highlight how they give but if they don't are they ashamed of how little it actually is???

  3. well its officially official...hockey team joins new conference they get new nchc member school banners in the ralph the same year....the mens bball, womens bball, and vball team joined a new conference two years ago and new big sky conference members banners are no where to be seen at the betty???

any verified und officials on here want to explain that one??

next question...womens vball wins the big sky conference this year/ mens hockey wins the the nchc this year...who gets a conference championship banner first?

  4. Well, I have also broached the idea of dropping football and going without it like Denver does if we aren't willing to do what it takes to put a solid product on the field, so if you want to discuss it I am game.

As for REA, I don't have any documents or even any "insider info", but with all the beer, concessions, merchandise and whatever else they sell from October-March (along with all the non-hockey events they have), UND should have a significant advantage over the other Dakota schools, who don't have anything like this. It is a fair question and I will not shut up about it.

"(along with all the non-hockey events they have)"---i've heard they get up to 40k for a wedding reception???

  5. If you don't think UND athletics is in a much better place than because of the Ralph and also the Betty then I'm not sure what kind of reality you live in. The tax returns for all of the entities are freely available to look through as they all operate as non-profits. Go ahead and point out where money is being wasted or withheld from UND. I've sat in on a presentation by Jody Hodgson a few years ago and they are open with the dollar amount directed back to UND along with other income that passes back to them. And at some point, UND will take over the building, meaning all the upgrades and maintenance that is being put back into the building instead of just going to UND will benefit UND.

What was the level of profit that was "promised" to UND vs what they are getting?

that would be nice to have a link to that tax return?? plus it would be nice to find out what was "promised" years ago to what actually happening now....and just like most non-profit entities there seems to be a lot of "managers" and "assistant managers" on the payroll over there and few redundant last names on the arena directory???

  6. Be careful, you'll be roasted for not "appreciating the gift"! :silly:???

I have asked this question over and over and over again on this forum and all I get is static in response or people refuse to answer the question and change the subject. REA was built, in part, to give UND athletics a huge revenue stream that would support all of our programs. REA is supposed to serve UND, not the other way around.

with the ralph and the betty taking in all the revenue from mens bball, womens bball, womens vball, mens hockey, and womens hockey are we (und athletics) losing money on this deal???

  7. Are you implying that the defense will "wake up" this week against Eastern Washington?…

if the three linemen were stanchick, edwards, and either woodsmall/carrother

if the four lbs were dayo, dom, will, and derek

if the two safties were javen and cam

if the two cb were d brown and anyone but 17

maybe that would wake up the homecoming fans??

  8. these numbers also make me nervous that if and when the fb split between fbs/fcs happens that und is a little tapped out on money to pay for when the ndac can go to their students and ask if they want to move their already successful fb program up or stay fcs(not sure how to articulate that with all the different ways people say teh split might happen?)

also i'm thinking that dropping womens hockey and using that money/scholarships for other womens sports is an option we might have to start looking at...i know there are title 9 issues that would have to be resolved but womens hockey is a huge drain....

  9. didn't know where to put this question but i guess this topic works...i am a little shocked about und raising only 2.6 million more in revenue than the ndac?? there is an article in the herald talking about revenue and subsidies....i just thought with the ralph pulling in all that revenue that we would a little farther ahead of the ndac???

  10. At risk of repeating myself ... a-a-a-a-gain ... "Norse" fails the test that failed "Sioux".

The actual NCAA policy bans monikers related to "race, ethnicity, or national origin", or what some call the RENO rule. Yes, the NCAA is not enforcing it equally (Irish, Seminoles, Vandals) but you have to know they'd love to slap us again just to slap us again.

i think ur a little mistaken on your take on the Fighting Norse...you can't have monikers related to race, ethnicity, or national origin IF they are deemed "hostile or abusive" and if you don't have the closest tribe (or in our case the two closest) to sign off on it you are deemed to have a hostile or abusive mascot/moniker...Fighting Norse would pass the test and make UND a lot of money.

  11. will steve have a factor in playing time?

hopefully no...but he's walking around almost every game with his credentials hanging around his neck....jones rewarded guys like monsebroten, mathiason, and such (deservedly so bc they were essentially playing for nothing with the transition) but i hope "rewarding" is done and the best play regardless

  12. If Brekke is healthy he deserves minutes. He has been very good for us in his career when healthy and as long as he stays out of foul trouble.

only problem i have with your statement is "deserves"...no one deserves anything...play your best players regardless of year or if your a juco or a transfer....i think a lot of problems with the fb team is because of this mentality.....

  13. one thing i hope doesn't happen this is year is jones "rewarding" 5th year senior brekke with playing time...if calcaterra and nash are better (which they should be) they should play the majority of the minutes.

  14. Based off this post you are not painting the full picture of how he actually played along with the external variables. You may be pissed about the game but he's still the guy. Bartels would have been sacks 10 times today with that protection.

at this point i'm wondering who is slower...bartels or mr. swag aka joey bradley?? molberg gives us the best chance to win any game from here on out...bottom line

  15. Watching the UND sports show right...

Mussman not making any dumb comments but also hes not saying much other than we just gotta compete more and our young guys will continue to make mistakes and we have to live with that

for a young guy to make mistakes he has to be on the field and these "young" guys seem to be buried on the depth chart behind guys like henson, mackey, finley, lewis, peters, otto, and miller??
