  1. Based off this post you are not painting the full picture of how he actually played along with the external variables. You may be pissed about the game but he's still the guy. Bartels would have been sacks 10 times today with that protection.

at this point i'm wondering who is slower...bartels or mr. swag aka joey bradley?? molberg gives us the best chance to win any game from here on out...bottom line

  2. Watching the UND sports show right...

Mussman not making any dumb comments but also hes not saying much other than we just gotta compete more and our young guys will continue to make mistakes and we have to live with that

for a young guy to make mistakes he has to be on the field and these "young" guys seem to be buried on the depth chart behind guys like henson, mackey, finley, lewis, peters, otto, and miller??

  3. I think that was their second TD. That was hard to believe that our bigger LB didn't light their RB up. He put his shoulder down and didn't wrap up and the RB barely slowed down. What I don't understand is why they didn't get someone else in.

Any LB that gets a clear shot like that and can't make a play needs to consider whether or not he should play college FB.

ratelle or norberg would have moved him backwards....problem is one is hurt and the other is redshirting?

  4. You can't play with all freshmen and sophomores. Our jr and sr classes need to produce. To me it's been more lack of focus, motivation, discipline and effort than talent alone. Starts at the top.

i think muss is too loyal to the older guys and it might cost him his job....henson is joke on the dl and he might be one the biggest reason why the d sucks so bad....yet he plays and plays and plays and doesn't do a damn thing other than getting dominated....and don't get me going on mackey...what has he done in four years to even play let alone start as a safety....whoever is the best at each position regardless of year should be playing and or starting.

  5. Is pulling Norbergs shirt worth it? Maybe we go 4 - 7 instead of 3 - 8. this year has a good possibility of being a poor recruiting year, so leaving some players with four years left seems like a better choice, and as a player, I gotta believe you prefer to not a waste a year of eligibility on this season.

I suppose if you are Muss, your only interest is getting one more year out of your contract, so you pull the shirt on anyone with a remote possibility of helping the team.

if peters sucks, which i think he does, you don't have to pull norbergs redshirt to try to fix the problem...you could try labatt, rich, the kid from minot?? problem with muss knowing that his job is really on the line you might see sharp at rb, norberg at mlb, and bell at starting tackle in the next game??

  6. That's why I think Norbergs tweet could have been about pulling a redshirt. He would be giving up a quarter of a season but Peters missed some obvious tackles today.

you would think one of the defensive coaches would ask/tell peters to maybe lose 20 pounds to maybe pick up a little speed??? nope 253lb middle lb that is slower than joey bradley..

  7. why does kotelnicki or muss have all 11 defensive starters come out to start the third quarter after giving up 42 points in one half???? what did mackey, henson, peters, and rest do to deserve to walk out there to start the second half???

  8. As far as the FB programs, we are nowhere near being on "equal footing". Consecutive NCs, recent host of Gameday, a legit HC...and I could go on. UND...coming off a blowout loss to a conference opponent at home, sub .500 record overall vs. FCS teams and a HC that at best is suited to be a coordinator.

the equal footing quote just means that und has no more excuses for not competing at a high level at the d1 level...it wasn't meant to mean we are ahead of the ndac in all sports (yet)...as far as the fb team is concerned if faison wants to fire muss and pay his replacement 300,000 dollars a year he can if he wants...some of the recent games the fb has played in have been absolute embarressments and no doubt the ndac is way way ahead of our fb BUT enjoy it because it won't last too much longer...because we are on "equal footing"!!

  9. Wrong on two counts. It's Guldseth and it's Edinburg, but let's not get bogged down in spelling...

My comment was in response to SIOUXFAN97's comment about something being a seemingly obvious choice. There are lots of factors involved and choices for some are not so obvious...

i never said choices would be seemily be obvious i just said some choices are easier when you add everything up and for a guy like quinton hooker i'm sure he see himself being the next damian lillard and i hope he is...i was just pointing out that und was at a disadvantage when compared to the ndac and sdsu...and continued during the transition and finally we are seeing the light at the end of tunnel in bball, vball, baseball, and so forth because we are on "equal footing"....

  10. Not trying to play NDSU devil's advocate, but we're still talking about the school that in 2006 knocked off Wisconsin and led off ESPN SportsCenter and in 2009 gave Kansas a run for its money in the opening round of the NCAA tournament, right? You make it sound like they're Dickinson State.

once again i'll bring out the "equal footing" story...take a guy like ben woodside..if und and the ndac were both recruiting him at the time ndac could sell him playing d1 bball and when your a senior you have the chance to play in the big dance and yeah maybe we might even play a team like kansas in the metrodome??? or you could play d2 bball and have fun playing for a short at the d2 national tournament and play emporia state in front of 500 fans in pueblo, co???

    easy choice for ben?

  11. They've always been on "equal footing" when they've played. You do not get to look back and say, well Behrns didn't do well so they weren't on "equal footing". Neither does ndsu. They like to blame scholarship reductions for a lot. Fact is, every time they've taken the field they've been on equal footing. More often than not, UND coaches and players have performed better.

This "equal footing" stuff is bull s**t.

i guess people are really reading a lot of meaning into my "equal footing" comment...what i meant was that ndac's transition is a little bit smoother than und's in terms of conference affiliation and no nickname crap hanging over them...now that every sport at und has a solid conference to sell to recruits and no nickname lawsuits hanging around the coaches are on "equal footing" and as the years go on away from the transition und will be winning most recruiting battles with the ndac like we have done for over a 100 years...quinton hooker being the most obvious example of what i meant by "hey quinton you can play in a conference that produced the rookie of the year in nba, get a great education at a world class university, and play in a beautiful basketball facility or you can play in an alphabet league of commuter schools, study either ag sciences or architecture, and play in a dump of a multipurpose facility???

easy choice i guess for quinton

  12. Of course, this is the same person who, when we was with the sports division of the Heraldo, used to pick against UND all the time. If Bakken had been accurate, the team would have finished 3-8 or 2-9 year after year. :silly::p

Having said that, I guess I am not all that anxious about it. It will happen when it happens. It probably will happen in the playoffs before it happens in the regular season.

My response to Bakken is this: Face it, not all UND fans are obsessed with playing FU again. I am one of those fans.

i sat two rows behind bakken at the sdsu game and when und was making their comeback attempt and everyone in our section was banging the metal walls and kicking chairs, he sat there by himself silent as a toad....

  13. I'm intrigued by your take on men's hoops...

pretty simple...more talent on und's team than the ndac's team...advantage und

plus the equal footing thing...if und was still looking for a full time conference and had the nickname stuff hanging over us a guy like quinton hooker would be wearing green and piss yellow instead of green and black....

  14. Actually David the records don't exactly tell the whole story. NDSU wasn't even close to being evenly matched with UND until the early 60's. NDSU was half the size and had half the budget that UND had. Once NDSU became funded and developed as a university did the two schools become evenly matched.

UND fans have a hard time understanding that before the 60's UND had the lions share of the attention and support from the state. NDAC was just an after thought scrambling for the table scraps.

If those all time records against NDSU makes you all warm and fuzzy inside about UND right now then keep staring at them. It obviously helps Wayne Nelson...Haha. Fact is that the majority of those wins were against a small ag college with hardly a pot to piss in back before most of us were even born.

it that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside thats fine...okay let's live in the here and now

    fb-ndac

    mens bball-und

    womens bball-und

    volleyball-und

    soccer-und

baseball---seems like a toss up but speaking of even footing...und finally has a home for baseball and in fact a really nice home in the wac

and before you starting talking about all the summit league championships in track and golf and cross country...its still the summit league!
