  1. Nobody outside the region cares about second tier football...its also a knock on why some chippahs don't want UND...football and bball games at Big 10 or Big East/Hockey East is a draw.
  2. I can tell you as a former fortune 500 executive that if somebody has your correct email it gets through. You can put it into junk or block it going forward, but I personally wouldn't do that unless the person emailing was suspect or unhinged. If a client or customer or partner sent me an email, I'd open it. I think this is true of most senior leaders.
  3. wasn't trying to be obnoxious, as i re-read how I posted it was a little aggressive. I have heard first hand that Bubs is a great guy and everybody who knows him in hockey loves him and he is in "the club" however the trust in the process from the big clubs has eroded from "he's at UND, let's just let it play out" to "okay, how hard do we need to lean and do we need to make a change or not"
  4. Fitzy is a great player. He's also an outstanding young man. I hope we are in the running for him.
  5. patently untrue at this point. A couple GMs still like us. As a whole, they are not loving it. Sorry to say it, but seeing it
  6. not knocking Boeser or Schmaltz or Zajac or Stafford or whomever, they were chippahs too, but not THE prize
  7. when's the last time we landed the prize of the class? Sanderson probably....before that it was Toews and before that Parise
  8. So.....winning the natty is a combination of team, talent, coaching, and luck. Getting to the Frozen Four is team, talent, and coaching.
  9. That's one part of the world I really do not have a pulse on...he's an 08 out of Montreal...bonjour mon ami!
  10. yep, 3-4 year players in grinder roles is awesome...1-2 year draft picks in those roles not so much
  11. no doubt, and to win Nattys you need a couple chippahs who think they have a chance and are allowed to play in a way to score 60 points a season at UND
  12. and as important as playing 200 feet and solid defense is, the world still loves offensive highlights, and the NHL wants guys who can put the puck in the net and get fans out of their seats. Inside every team the grit, blocked shots, great routes and back pressure are revered, but scoring and playmaking are the hardest commodities to come by. Remember for chippahs, they are still trying to become somebody. They aren't anybody if they are a first round pick getting pucks deep and forechecking...that's a change you make when you are getting paid to make that change
  13. That was sarcasm
  14. Maybe we should wait until they get older and can see the culture...
  15. Gotta get some chippahs! Right now those 2009s and 2010s were in kindergarten last time we won and 4th grade last time we made a push!
  16. Now say what you will about scouting services (this is credit to Neutral Zone), but here is their list of Chippahs (4.5 star and up) for USHL midterm draft and WHL midterm draft...USA WHL, Canada WHL, Canada OHL, USHL in that order. 17. 2GP 1G 1A in 2 losses vs GFC 1GP 4G 1 A in 1 win vs GFRR
  18. I think he was emphasizing that defense and goaltending is dragging down the talent level
  19. kid is sneaky good. I think the issue (other than his size obviously) is whether or not, to your point, he can zip around guys the way he does now at the next level. He had a good 17s camp last summer, so that says he can play with the best his age group.
  20. So late deciding 07s and 08s can happen any time here. we could see an early deciding 09, but most won't commit until August. 09s will get drafted in the USHL this year. 10's in the WHL in May.
  21. Mikey Berchild and Freddie Schneider too...both look like chippahs to me...
  22. Yep, my definition of a chippah is a kid that has first round painted all over him and you are just waiting to see where he lands in the first round
  23. correct, the university of minnesota is one of the largest universities in the country. I think total undergrad enrollment is typically around 35k-40k, means 9k-10k per class if 100% graduated. If 70% graduate, they are kicking out 6k to 7k per year. More if you add in grad school, but most people's college loyalty is to where they did undergrad, not where they went to finishing school
  24. B/A is a great program and community. It is great for chippahz and it is great for kids that just want to make the next level up next season. The community is supportive while being competitive which is actually a tough tight rope to walk. Your bro in law must be an ex Gopher, but I'll let that slide....Andy and Dave are great humans and are in it for all the right reasons.
