  1. Top 6 or Top 4 in the CHL, USHL, or NTDP you should bounce...agree. Gotta compare against birth year nationally and internationally too, not the 2 year mid-year school year MN-DAK bands. Younger ages, I think that you should play at a level where you are 1.5-2 points per game...enough to be dominant, but not be ridiculous. If you can rack up 3+ points per game vs your age group or your league you should play up or switch leagues. I think you should do that vs your birth year ideally and in your town ideally.
  2. I feel like playing what if today, so what if and what would you do? Super high end talent, do you stay local? do you go to better league? better team? play up? It's the million dollar question plaguing youth hockey right now. There's no correct answer, but its always interesting discussion.
  3. I hope he has that opportunity and any opportunity he wishes for. I feel that way about all the kids.
  4. At the University of Michigan? I am being a smart ass...the program is now out of Plymouth MI
  5. had 1 goal according to Elite Prospects
  6. This would be Marto U17 season coming up...you are suggesting he'd go to NTDP as a second year replacement?
  7. If we're talking bantams, I am curious how that MN Blue Ox team will fare at Tier 1 Nationals. They beat SSM and they are essentially the 2010 Blades minus the couple guys from the cities (Stevens, Godbout, etc) and a couple guys that either went prep or left the State (Meier, Skelton, Thompson). They are a really good team. Historically Minnesota (other than SSM) and Team ND have not had a ton of success at the Nationals level. To GFs point its hard to compete at that level with homegrown kids when other teams are able to recruit and put together super teams- and then practice and play together all year. Blue Ox is a super team from NW Minny.
  8. assuming Pelosi is a sophomore based on birthday, this would be an unofficial visit then too
  9. I would guess that we wanted him but figured it was a super long shot.
  10. Obviously a local kid with deep family ties. Nobody has ever doubted he has talent.
  11. hate to break it to the world. but 99% of the world doesn't know that there is a difference between UND and NDSU...remember about 15-20 years ago the Final Five promo stuff called us NDSU...sucks...
  12. yeah, he is one of the best in that birth year for sure. Sky is the limit for him.
  13. non conference match-ups are a double edged sword for PWR...you love playing BU, BC, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Wisconsin...but for both sides its dangerous if you get swept...
  14. dirtiest thing ever said on television: Ward, I think you were too hard on the Beaver last night
  15. Nobody outside the region cares about second tier football...its also a knock on why some chippahs don't want UND...football and bball games at Big 10 or Big East/Hockey East is a draw.
  16. I can tell you as a former fortune 500 executive that if somebody has your correct email it gets through. You can put it into junk or block it going forward, but I personally wouldn't do that unless the person emailing was suspect or unhinged. If a client or customer or partner sent me an email, I'd open it. I think this is true of most senior leaders.
  17. wasn't trying to be obnoxious, as i re-read how I posted it was a little aggressive. I have heard first hand that Bubs is a great guy and everybody who knows him in hockey loves him and he is in "the club" however the trust in the process from the big clubs has eroded from "he's at UND, let's just let it play out" to "okay, how hard do we need to lean and do we need to make a change or not"
  18. Fitzy is a great player. He's also an outstanding young man. I hope we are in the running for him.
  19. patently untrue at this point. A couple GMs still like us. As a whole, they are not loving it. Sorry to say it, but seeing it
  20. not knocking Boeser or Schmaltz or Zajac or Stafford or whomever, they were chippahs too, but not THE prize
  21. when's the last time we landed the prize of the class? Sanderson probably....before that it was Toews and before that Parise
  22. So.....winning the natty is a combination of team, talent, coaching, and luck. Getting to the Frozen Four is team, talent, and coaching.
  23. That's one part of the world I really do not have a pulse on...he's an 08 out of Montreal...bonjour mon ami!
  24. yep, 3-4 year players in grinder roles is awesome...1-2 year draft picks in those roles not so much
  25. no doubt, and to win Nattys you need a couple chippahs who think they have a chance and are allowed to play in a way to score 60 points a season at UND
