  1. 8 is a playmaker, not a finisher. He also needs to skate with really high end skill guys...he's too fast and creative to play with more grinder type forwards. I think that we are wasting his talent by not having him skate with Mac and Parks or Jewels...you could have him with LJ as finisher or chyzyk as well
  2. A forward on the pk playing in front of the net or in the corners below the hash, inherently means that there is a dman out of position.
  3. its timing- with Ortega bumped/chipped/knocked down, that buys the time for the rotation to happen. Its not basketball, its hockey.
  4. Its not hate- its criticism. Jordan was a -1 last night in an OT loss. He's +7 on the year, but +5 is from the Niagara series (vs the worst team in college hockey) in NCHC conference games only he's a -1
  5. I agree that Suter does not appear urgent- however the comparison has to end there...
  6. Without the puck in the d zone? I'd never call that poise. I think he's another bust- I doubt he makes the show.
  7. 24 plays with no urgency, and it results in what looks like he's just going through the motions. I don't care if you have all the God given talent in the world and a pedigree- you have to play hard to play on any team...
  8. He lost nearly every loose puck battle and was slow. He's supposed to be a PP specialist...well, we sucked it there too
  9. The refs don't even cross the mind of a player out there. You just play the way you play and are coached- its the manifestation of 22 years of "training" on the ice- Penalty or no penalty never crossed Mac's mind- nor should it. You don't think on the ice, you play.
  10. I sit 24 tonight and send a message- Poolman moves back and takes his spot. Insert Simonson. Scoring: Mac, Parks, N.Schmaltz Scoring: Jewels, LJ, Chyzyk Energy: Pattyn, St Clair, Simonson Energy: Gaarder, OD, Pogo
  11. All five Omaha skaters were on one side of the ice? Ortega was in front of the net...and you're telling me that Omaha was completely out of position as well? Chasing the puck like mites? I didn't tape it, but i can't believe that they would do that-
  12. its cross check to the kidney alley down there, usually the opponent doesn't fly like they got shot out of a cannon. Usually it just keeps them off balance.
  13. Mac is playing center on a 5-4 pk situation. His responsibility is the front of the net- if he chases a loose puck into the corner, he takes himself out of position and leaves a goal scorer alone in the low slot.
  14. Anyone catch the "underdog" play the CBS announcer made when interviewing Ortega...ummm...it was two top 5 teams going head to head, and if I'm not mistaken UNO entered the game in first place in the NCHC...
  15. I was always coached that its law of the jungle when you're down a man late or in OT. Tackle an opponent if there's a loose puck in your crease. Use your stick "creatively" if a guy cant use his hands, he can't score...and they never call a second penalty in OT...oh wait...
  16. I sit 24 tomorrow...time to wake up Jordan
  17. the lesson to the kiddies is dont put both hands on the stick when you are jockeying for position in front of your own net- if he does the same shove with one hand free there is no way its called that said, Ortega looked like he was a euro trash soccer player the way he went down
  18. 24 looks like Billy Charlesbois of the Charlestown Chiefs back there in our end
  19. theres zero energy/urgency to his game- he loafs back there
  20. probably the worst performance of 24s career tonight
  21. I don't think that we're that much better than Omaha. I think tomorrow will be tight again...3-2 Sioux
  22. to make it go to 5x3 in OT, it has to be dangerous or stop a high probability scoring chance
