  1. Living in Mpls- this is really going to suck tomorrow
  2. what an absolutely horrible way to lose a great game
  3. They made one more play than we did...sucks worse that it was with less than a second to go
  4. Wow that hurts...replay of UNH...lose with less than a tick... There is no pride in taking the Gophs to the wall... This really hurts
  5. I've posted and deleted a couple times...Serge was EVERYTHING a coach should be and then some. His accolades are based on results, what it doesn't say is that he was a fan of the kids...he wanted us all to dream big and accomplish those dreams. I loved it when he would substitute teach and give us athletes a hard time- with only the best intentions. He made an impact on my life- what a great legacy- on the ice, but more importantly off it...with all of us that he made better people.
  6. Sioux win a national championship if and only if Zane shows the topside that he is capable of. Wilcox is a more consistent backstop- rock solid, great. Zane has a next level that is serious NHL. The question is, will he play up to it.
  7. 50% to win a national title seems almost impossible from a statistical perspective. Not trying to call anyone out, just thinking about it from my old days having to play with mini-tab in Blegan Hall...
  8. God be with you Shopek family. Sioux are on your team on this one.
  9. I've seen KRACH used to predict the tourney as well...
  10. NHL.com has mock drafts up today 3/25/14. Both the east and west scout picked Schmaltz to go #27 overall to Anaheim
  11. Anyone in Nashville?
  12. I've stayed there! Its a great place.
  13. Wisconsin has the capability to do EXACTLY what Miami did to us on friday- get up early- frustrate, and win. That game film is the recipe for both teams to win...
  14. I think he's banged up. My bet is a shoulder, hip, or ribs. I disagree that Wisconsin has the best forwards. Wisconsin has a good top line, but Miami's and St. Lawrence's top lines are more talented IMO. Kerdiles is great, and we need to make him re-think his love of hockey on friday night. Just be obnoxious for him to play against. Nag on him. Nothing outside the lines, not even big physicality- that fires him up...just hook a little, and slash a little, and tug a little, and always be in his space and taking away time. Do that, stay out of the box, and we can win.
  15. Good call-out. We're used to dominant skill up front, and punishers on the Blue line. This team is truly different.
  16. MacMillan and Thompson both tossed pucks to little kids after warm-ups. I thought that was cool.
  17. He did WHAT better than Louganis?
  18. Keys to the game- Do not let Mersch shoot on the power play. Shadow Kerdiles, make his life absolutely miserable out there. Get the first goal. Establish a physical and net front presence early. Get some flow out of our end- no speed through the neutral zone plays right into Bucky's strengths. Hit the net and follow shots to the net. Their goalie is solid- not likely to pop the water bottle from the dot- need to bang some off the pillows and pounce on rebounds.
  19. The trash talking in hockey has gotten really, really bad. I have to think there'd be less of it with half-shields and 5 minutes for fighting
  20. Warm weather would've brought out more fun- rooftop bars, etc. I bet the owner of Eagle Street, Allarys, McGoverns and Mr. Tom Reid are a little irritated today
  21. Was it coach Hakstol?
  22. Also saw that Gopher de-commit Tommy Vannelli signed 3 year deal with the Blues, max signing bonus ($92,500 x 3) $70k in AHL, laddered NHL pay with an avg value of $742,500
  23. Greg Carey's contract NHL public info: Came through weird- $92,500 to sign, $70k AHL, $925k NHL, 1 year deal, $212,500 in potential bonuses
  24. Against the field, we are 3-4-1 with some tight games... MN 7-3-2 vs the field BC 8-4-2 Union 3-2-2 Wisconsin 2-3 (but only vs MN and BC) Ferris 1-5-0 Quinnipiac 4-3-1 Lowell 7-6-1 SCSU 8-4-2 Mankato 3-5-0 Providence 5-4-2 Notre Dame 6-7-1 Colgate 6-5-2 Vermont 3-10-1 DU 2-3-1 (only played UND and SCSU) Robert Morris never played the field MN, BC, and SCSU stand out on one end. Vermont and Ferris stand out on the other end. Other than that, it is pretty close to .500 hockey vs the field for everyone else. Robert Morris 0 games vs the field, Vermont,BC, Notre Dame, and Lowell on the other bookend with 14 games vs the field
  25. You have to believe that no #1 seed is excited to face NoDak.
