  1. That wasn't a lazy stick penalty, that wasn't a stupid retaliatory penalty, that was a fast-moving, physical presence penalty- sucks that it resulted in what it resulted in, but that is no gaffe- I guarantee Hak didn't chew Mac out in the locker room.
  2. That didn't look like a walleye to me...
  3. oh no, what have they added to it? Count me in the crowd who can't stand stolen chants...from ex-JV basketball players from the TC suburbs who know about as much about hockey as they do about scoring with the ladies... I only see a couple games in person each year (generally around Thanksgiving- so student section isn't there)
  4. Of course Dean doesn't walk on water...his son does
  5. a gaffe? wow...glad I never played with nor was coached by you- no offense
  6. He created the Shattuck pipeline that brought us Parise, Porter, Toews, and Duncan...and he is one of the best guys to have a beer with on the planet
  7. I don't think he's there yet...he hasn't produced at the collegiate level like 9,15,16 and doesnt have 8's pedigree internationally
  8. To me, you have Mac, Parks, Jewels and NSchmaltz as the top end skill guys; then you have OD and LJ who have inconsistent games, but have the ability to pot one any time; then you have Chyzyk and Gaarder as guys who can get the job done- whatever you ask of them; Pogo is the rookie physical presence, and Pattyn is the lunchpail leader;
  9. 8 is a playmaker, not a finisher. He also needs to skate with really high end skill guys...he's too fast and creative to play with more grinder type forwards. I think that we are wasting his talent by not having him skate with Mac and Parks or Jewels...you could have him with LJ as finisher or chyzyk as well
  10. A forward on the pk playing in front of the net or in the corners below the hash, inherently means that there is a dman out of position.
  11. its timing- with Ortega bumped/chipped/knocked down, that buys the time for the rotation to happen. Its not basketball, its hockey.
  12. Its not hate- its criticism. Jordan was a -1 last night in an OT loss. He's +7 on the year, but +5 is from the Niagara series (vs the worst team in college hockey) in NCHC conference games only he's a -1
  13. I agree that Suter does not appear urgent- however the comparison has to end there...
  14. Without the puck in the d zone? I'd never call that poise. I think he's another bust- I doubt he makes the show.
  15. 24 plays with no urgency, and it results in what looks like he's just going through the motions. I don't care if you have all the God given talent in the world and a pedigree- you have to play hard to play on any team...
  16. He lost nearly every loose puck battle and was slow. He's supposed to be a PP specialist...well, we sucked it there too
  17. The refs don't even cross the mind of a player out there. You just play the way you play and are coached- its the manifestation of 22 years of "training" on the ice- Penalty or no penalty never crossed Mac's mind- nor should it. You don't think on the ice, you play.
  18. I sit 24 tonight and send a message- Poolman moves back and takes his spot. Insert Simonson. Scoring: Mac, Parks, N.Schmaltz Scoring: Jewels, LJ, Chyzyk Energy: Pattyn, St Clair, Simonson Energy: Gaarder, OD, Pogo
  19. All five Omaha skaters were on one side of the ice? Ortega was in front of the net...and you're telling me that Omaha was completely out of position as well? Chasing the puck like mites? I didn't tape it, but i can't believe that they would do that-
  20. its cross check to the kidney alley down there, usually the opponent doesn't fly like they got shot out of a cannon. Usually it just keeps them off balance.
  21. Mac is playing center on a 5-4 pk situation. His responsibility is the front of the net- if he chases a loose puck into the corner, he takes himself out of position and leaves a goal scorer alone in the low slot.
