  1. National titles, frozen fours, conference titles, tournament appearances, elite alumni, hobey bakers in that order with heaviest weighting to last 10 years, then 11-20, 20-44, 44+ (taking it back to 1970). 1. Boston College 2. Minnesota 3. UND 4. Wisconsin 5. DU 6. Michigan 7. BU 8. Michigan State 9. Maine 10. Lake State 11. Michigan tech 12. Cornell
  2. I count 2 each for BC, Michigan, and DU Gionta and Orpik Cammeleri and Johnson Stastny and Carle
  3. would've or would of? All speculation, but we lost to a team that got shelled. Union is the National Champion and deserved it. Would Michigan have beaten UND in 1997??
  4. Fun to speculate on lines...I keep Rocco and Schmaltz (younger) separate, because it is my belief that both are playmakers first and foremost- and similarly to sicatoka I believe in line chemistry with a finisher and a playmaker- i round out lines with bangers or speedsters whose roles are to create time and space for the other two either by flying up the ice or creating a net front or boards presence. I think we lack some true finishers, but Parks, Jewels, Johnson and OD might be what we have... Gaarder is clutch and can score- he's a little bit of everything Pattyn is a banger with heart Mac is a speedster who can create space for others and chip in offensively If we put Schmaltz with Parks and Mac, we will have an elite playmaker alongside two older, accomplished players that can create space for him and work well together. Parks can bang home rebounds, Mac will stretch the D. I always like Rocco and Jewels together- with an older Johnson, they could be good. Both Rocco and Jewels can do amazing things with the puck Hopefully someone can step into that Frattin, Goren, Bochenski, Duncan role of finisher elite. I'm in agreement that we will have a third line that nobody will want to play against
  5. no- it is not scuzzy
  6. Its on the north side of University Ave just across from campus and adjacent to frat row. It is home to a bunch of businesses. There is off campus housing adjacent to it to the north as well. At the Minneapolis campus you really have Stadium village- area east of campus (Washington Ave) that is where the SuperBlock of dorms is located, Sally's, the U hospital- and the stadiums (hence the name) Then you have dinkytown as described, Marcy Holmes- area west of 35W- lots of apartments West bank- other side of Mississippi home to 7 corners, adjacent to Cedar-Riverside
  7. Congratulations to Union College for their first NCAA title. Also congrats to the Gophers on a great season...I have a feeling that we will meet in the tourney again next year...
  8. As usual, the 4th line will be made up of whomever wants it the most. I have to believe that we'll see something like the following (based on playmaker, shooter, speedster or banger)- 1. Mark Mac with Parks and Schmaltz 2. Rocco with Jewels and Johnson 3. Gaarder with Pattyn and OD really hard to sit St. Clair, so it will likely be him with Olson, Simonson, Murphy, and/or Chyzyk D is already set, although Poolman could challenge That's Zane's net. There's always next year! Go Sioux!
  9. How do you let them score on an end to end, shorthanded, with less than 5 ticks?? ugggghh
  10. Hard to accept the loss, but really, this team way overperformed. Helluva run the boys had.
  11. It was an f'ing shorty too
  12. The Michigan loss was bad
  13. Living in Mpls- this is really going to suck tomorrow
  14. what an absolutely horrible way to lose a great game
  15. They made one more play than we did...sucks worse that it was with less than a second to go
  16. Wow that hurts...replay of UNH...lose with less than a tick... There is no pride in taking the Gophs to the wall... This really hurts
  17. I've posted and deleted a couple times...Serge was EVERYTHING a coach should be and then some. His accolades are based on results, what it doesn't say is that he was a fan of the kids...he wanted us all to dream big and accomplish those dreams. I loved it when he would substitute teach and give us athletes a hard time- with only the best intentions. He made an impact on my life- what a great legacy- on the ice, but more importantly off it...with all of us that he made better people.
  18. Sioux win a national championship if and only if Zane shows the topside that he is capable of. Wilcox is a more consistent backstop- rock solid, great. Zane has a next level that is serious NHL. The question is, will he play up to it.
  19. 50% to win a national title seems almost impossible from a statistical perspective. Not trying to call anyone out, just thinking about it from my old days having to play with mini-tab in Blegan Hall...
  20. God be with you Shopek family. Sioux are on your team on this one.
  21. I've seen KRACH used to predict the tourney as well...
  22. NHL.com has mock drafts up today 3/25/14. Both the east and west scout picked Schmaltz to go #27 overall to Anaheim
  23. Anyone in Nashville?
  24. I've stayed there! Its a great place.
  25. Wisconsin has the capability to do EXACTLY what Miami did to us on friday- get up early- frustrate, and win. That game film is the recipe for both teams to win...
