  1. Not sure who is a better playoff draw: WMU or CC...very different styles...both able to steal a game. I think CC is more skilled, but WMU is better coached. Short of a complete collapse, and a bunch of out of the top 16 teams winning their conference tourneys, we are a lock for the NCAAs. We need to be working on the things that work in the NCAAs: special teams, top lines logging a ton of ice, tight officiating Our key to making a nice run at #8 is to make sure CBS is healthy, Cam getting super hot again, getting a timely goal or two from depth players and dmen, winning draws, unveiling a new PP look that teams will not have seen on tape. I'd consider a resurrection of the DOT powerplay, with Boeser setting up shop in Duncs' old office...
  2. Assuming we get Chyz back, I am thinking about a line chart like this: 1. CBS 2. Chyzk centering Gersich and Pogo 3. Rhett centering JJ and LJ 4. Simonson centering Sanderson and Olson Gage and Stecher Poolman and LaDue Wolanin and Shaw
  3. Everyone keeps ignoring the fact that not only did Pogo have a good chance, but he had a teammate crashing on the opposite wing. That contributing factor tips it to the PS in my opinion.
  4. Not all UND fans display such low-class, misogynistic behavior. Not proud of comments like that.
  5. I agree with you and I think he has earned it. I'd throw a big change up tonight- especially if chyzyk can go. As I think it through, I'd play LJ, but he plays wing on the fourth line tonight.
  6. both sit if i'm coach. I also split up CBS at this point. We need more offense.
  7. UMD has lost quite a few games where they carried the play and outshot opponents by a substantial margin. They are not horrible. If I still know how to do math, I think UND just wrapped up home ice for the first round of the NCHC tourney.
  8. East Coast league contracts
  9. Luke Johnson is not good at hockey- he's terrible and should be benche- especially for laziness. The scouts saw how lazy he was too- they de-listed him for awhile...simple fact is he sucks
  10. In recent memory- Parise put up 60 his freshman year Osh was over 40, Toews just under that, but he missed a couple weeks due to Canada's long WJC camp
  11. WMU's style of play is awful to watch
  12. We are very average upfront without two hobey finalists...
  13. am I seeing this correctly...no video on NCHC.TV?
  14. The check that ended Jewels' night was open-ice. That makes me think not a collarbone (good thing)...usually you need the boards or the ice to break a clavicle. I'm thinking its likely a shoulder separation (on my non-professional medical nor hockey wisdom) at worst. If that's true, he will likely only miss CC
  15. You cannot blame Cam on this loss...ridiculous to think he should've had any of those. We lost because Omaha forced us to play their game. The backbreaker was truly the goal with no time left in the second...should never happen. boys will be ready to go tomorrow. I expect a laugher.
  16. We fell into the age old trap- we played their game, not ours...the master just reminded the student...
  17. Gersich is highly regarded, drafted, and has a much higher offensive ceiling than every forward outside of the CBS- he has a similar ceiling, but in a very different way than Pogo. He has shown a great motor and has scored quite a few goals- especially for his limited playing time. For these reasons, he plays top 6 if I'm Bubbs.
  18. He is a millenial after-all
  19. I like Simo, but I like him in a bottom 6 role.
  20. Honestly, a fourth line of LJ between JJ and Wilkie might be lethal! 1. CBS 2. Chyz with Gersich and Pogo 3. Gardner, St Claire and Simo 4. LJ with Wilkie and JJ
  21. Congrats to Brock Nelson for his first career NHL hat-trick! 4 point game!
  22. Interesting to rank goal scoring by non-powerplay, non-empty netters on the forwards: 1. Jewels 13 2. Boesser 9 3. Gersich 5 4. Chyz 4 5. Schmaltz, Pogo, Gardner 3 8. LJ, JJ. Simo 2 11. Wilkie 1 12. Sanderson, Olson 0 Now factor in the fact that Gersich and JJ have only played in 15 and 16 games respectively...
