  1. CC has typically played pretty good hockey in the first period. It’s the second period where things usually fall apart from them. Coach Haviland called his squad a mentally fragile group following last Saturday’s defeat at home against Omaha.
  2. Agreed. I was fortunate enough to attend a Beanpot-the one in 2009 where BU had that monster season and won everything they played for-and it’s such a fun, intense atmosphere. It deserves to be showcased to a broader audience.
  3. He is. They put him on the left point, to set him up for the big one-timer from the top of the circle.
  4. This coincides with Wilkie cutting off the mullet he’d been growing the first half of the season. Awfully suspicious behavior IMO. I think this is impeachable evidence.
  5. https://www.uscho.com/2020/01/30/as-search-for-a-new-hockey-east-commissioner-pushes-forward-might-the-future-of-hockey-east-be-in-peril/?fbclid=IwAR3TRtU2pA71Yhy3XdipHGx9V7u7Yf4MXrPnOpElDFiYxnQVeQXxRXq2u7k Wow....this could be potentially big news.
  6. Wilkie’s two-way game is suspect too. Been to enough games this season and last (before his injury) to see that he loafs when getting back the other direction. He seems less interested in playing in the D zone than the O zone.
  7. CC goalie Ryan Ruck has been hurt lately so Matt Vernon-Mike Vernon’s kid-has been starting every game as of late. You may recall Ruck was the goalie for Northeastern in the 2016 national tournament. We put up 6 on him that afternoon.
  8. He’s got a shoot first mentality for sure. Ever since he arrived two seasons ago, Haviland has said he has an NHL caliber shot and the hardest shot on the team. CC puts him on the off wing D so they can set him up for the big Ovechkin one-timer. Problem is, they go to that well so often, teams have scouted them and have adjusted their PK to that.
  9. Haviland’s been splitting them up. He did so most recently against Omaha. Haviland said in his post game interview on Saturday that the team is very fragile right now. He ain’t kidding; after blowing a first period 3-0 lead on Friday, they went out with a whimper on Saturday evening. Wilkie gets visibly irritated out there on the ice so UND can definitely get in his head if they limit his time and space. Third period against Omaha, down 3-1, Wilkie rings one off the crossbar and the puck goes out of play. Wilkie slams his stick against the end boards and the Omaha players chirped him pretty good. From then on, he was basically non-existent out there. As an aside, I saw Wilkie ring iron twice last weekend. I don’t recall any player who’s hit the post more times in his career than Wilkie. Ironically, he rang iron 3 times in a 3-1 loss at CC his sophomore season.
  10. Nor would I!
  11. You know that tripping call on Adams was weak when even the Duluth tv announcers had a problem with that call! To their credit, the thought that was a pretty ticky tack call.
  12. How many decades has Doc Brown been mayor now?
  13. We need the General Steph Pattyn to come hold a player’s only meeting and crack some skulls!
  14. CC took a page out of UND’s playbook by getting outscored 6-1 after building a 3-0 lead.
  15. Humbling.
  16. C’mon Kent State! Hang on to win in regulation!
  17. I don’t know what’s worse, losing at Duluth or having to listen to their play-by-play guys on the NCHC.tv stream of Bulldog hockey.
  18. Me and Mrs. Godsmack would be happy to help.
  19. What the what??? Why wouldn’t tonight’s game be televised on NCHC.tv?
  20. That save % is in contention with @MafiaMan!
  21. Could it be that Scheel is a little mentally and/or physically fatigued and needs a break here and there, especially down the stretch? -I saw that first hand with Alex Leclerc last season as Haviland played him every game and between a tough last regular season series against DU, and a 3 game road series in the first round at Western Michigan, by the time he got to St. Paul, he looked really tired. I don’t want to see that happen with Scheel.
  22. Well, we just got some help from St. Cloud.
  23. Is this the first CBS Sports game of the week this season?
  24. Weak penalty. I give that UNO player a 10 for that dive.
