I liked what Berry had to say in the post game to Hennessy...paraphrasing but basically, he’s rather be playing hockey the way his team plays than the way St. Cloud plays. That you might win a game here or there, packing it in and not playing on your toes. Edit: But more times than not, you will lose playing the way SCSU played tonight.

I agree with the sentiment of everyone on here about the questionable after-the-fact 5 minute major but what are everyone’s thoughts about the hit itself. Question: did Caulfield have to hit Poehling a second or two after he had already released the shot? Seems to me that Caulfield had plenty of time to either stop or skate by Poehling without hitting him.

Honestly, I was shocked they didn’t give him a 5 for that high hit. My heart sunk when the refs reviewed the play.

Yah, my buddy went to the game yesterday and said it was a total **** show both getting to the game as well as leaving-and they left after the 2nd period to try and beat traffic. I’m not going to the CC game but I would imagine the traffic problem won’t be as bad because there will probably be far fewer fans there as well as most of the traffic will be coming from south of the Academy, opposite direction of all the I-25 construction.

I will not be able to attend this year as the wife and I are taking a break from attending the tournament due to having a new baby (Naturally, with my luck, this will be the year UND DOESN’T lay an egg and will win it all). I was thinking the same thing. Didn’t notice him out there much if at all after he took that I’ll-advised offensive zone penalty in the second period.

The OT loss to New Hampshire in the regional in 2009 hurt too. Two goal lead blown in the 3rd; last second game tying goal for UNH. Edit: I know this isn’t UND, but the CC loss to Michigan in the 1996 national championship game hurts to this day. A loaded CC Tigers team facing an even more loaded Michigan Wolverines team that year. That loss still stings for me.

Totally agree. I think Alex and Jake make a great team. I also appreciate how they’re willing to acknowledge good play of UND’s opponent, whoever that might be. As a Tiger season ticket holder, I don’t share Alex or Jake’s enthusiasm of Mike Haviland and the so-called turnaround he’s manufactured. But that said, both of these guys are knowledgeable of the game and I love Alex’s enthusiasm whenever UND scores a goal or our goalie makes a big save. Plus, both guys are very diplomatic of UND’s opponents. Class acts.
