Really anyway, was Gabinet the best candidate Omaha had to choose from???

I know this isn’t college hockey related but former DU coach George Gwozdecky is coaching high school hockey in Colorado at Valor Christian. Last night, Valor beat Fort Collins, 1-0 in five overtimes in the Colorado state high school championship game. The real story is that the Ft. I don’t think the entire squad from Northeastern was prepared to face the buzz saw that was UND that game. UND probably could’ve put up double digits that day if they really wanted to.

He’s been in and out of the lineup but not due to injuries. However, he too got hurt last Friday night.

Nick Halloran may not make the trip to GF and CC’s most reliable defenseman, Brian Yoon is questionable as well. Yoon suffered a game ending injury about 30 seconds into Friday’s home game against DU.

I wonder how much rope Gabinet gets? I know it’s only his second or third season but how many below average seasons will he get? (As many as the CC coach?).

They oughta change it to an open ballot. Stand by your vote, I say.

Found out at the last minute that there is no Mike Haviland show. -The last one was last week. If I find anything out about Nick Halloran, I’ll let everyone know. I do know that goalie Ryan Ruck is questionable. He got taken out of Friday’s game with an injury. That leaves Vernon and 3rd stringer, Flakne.

Definitely. Like most other coaches, I’m sure Haviland will be tight lipped about the extent of his injury but hopefully Ken Landau will ask what Halloran’s status is. Halloran is one of CC’s few scoring threats, losing him would certainly hurt.

I will be listening to the Mike Haviland show from Old Chicago’s tonight. Will be broadcast on 1240 KRDO (105.5 FM). Not sure if that station is on iHeartRadio or not but wanted to pass this info along in case anyone’s interested in listening tonight at 6pm MTN.

Mavpuck clearly must be ignorant to the fact that his team is one of the most penalized teams in the nation. But, as they say, never let the facts get in the way of a good story!

I’ll never forget the interview with Gwoz during the nickname controversy when he said, “They will always be the Fighting Sioux to me.” Class guy in my book.

I also loved Berry’s comment about being glad they could be the ones to prevent the Bulldogs from winning a league championship since 1993.

Berry must not have been given the memo based on his response during the post game interview with Hennessy as he had some very pointed comments directed at the Omaha coaching staff about it. Also, he said the Omaha coaching staff is the only one in our league who decline our invitation to speak at Sioux boosters.

Chris Wilkie with his 22nd and 23rd goals of the season, including the game tying goal with 7 seconds to play but it wasn’t enough as DU wins in the overtime shootout.

Just got home from the CC game. Can’t even bring myself to watch the highlights of the UND game. Turn the page, I guess and focus on tomorrow.
