I'm sure this will be a good team but I'm not quite as optimistic as some are. I don't see this team winning as many draws as the past couple of teams. Scoring could be challenging too. There seems to be a lot of confidence in the freshmen, and not much scoring punch coming back (Gaber excepted). Certainly, will be a tournament team.

I like those lines. Maybe swap Costantini and Caufield (although I don't remember if one shoots left and the other right). I'm also concerned about draws. It seemed like a weakness last season, at least for Jamernik and Schmaltz. The team was .556 for draws, which isn't bad. The last time the team was around .500 was '15/'16 at .502. That year turned out OK.

Given Michigan's recent troubles and that they have had the results of the investigation for three months, I don't understand why Pearson hasn't been shown the door. Waiting this long only makes it look worse.

I hate the proposed transfer rule. Free agency in college hockey. So could a player enter the portal after the selection show and play for a team in the tournament? I hope the rule would be written to prevent it. The NCAA is on track to pass new transfer rules next month. The new rules would give players the ability to transfer an unlimited number of times, but it would implement a window for entering the transfer portal. The window would open the day after the NCAA selection show in March and last for 60 days.

Hopefully they don't follow the U of Illinois and study it to death!

Anyone know what team was first?

So the last time UND had a C and five As, they won a national championship. And I don't recall having a C and five As since. Logic then tells me go with a C and five As. It's obviously the path the #9. C - Senden, A Hain, Frisch, Gaber, Klevin and a player to be named later.

So, what is the transfer rule now? In the past, and maybe still, a player could transfer once. But there are players (Driscoll and Budy come to mind) that played for or will play for three teams. Is that because they went back to juniors? Is the COVID season that never was as far as eligibility goes the reason?

Yes, it is. It was my second trip to the Frozen Four. My first one was 2008 - talk about a nightmare!

Not that it makes a big difference, but IIRC 2011 should read Frozen Four, not National runner up.
