Jones needs to actually get control of the team, they seem to just do whatever they want out there on the court. Not sure if that's what Jones wants, but I can't imagine that it is.

Yeah I believe it's LetsGoSioux! I didn't have a problem with this thread until he posted

Here's one.

In the past week or two I've been getting a Chrome warning about malware when trying to view certain threads. Not all threads but most noticeably in the Football and Men's Hockey forums.

Poor shooting by UND but a lot of turnovers by Jamestown kept us in the thick of it for a long time before we were able to pull away. The Jamestown coach was hilarious to watch, seeing as how he wanted a foul called on just about everything. I especially loved him throwing the marker in the air when #41 was called for elbowing (a legit call).

What's the word on Huff for this game?

Rowney - assists Rocco and Simpson

According to SFI, Jake Disterhaupt committed to us, looks like as a safety.

My two cents, although much of what I was thinking has already been mentioned. Going to agree with folks that Webb is simply playing too many minutes. Get him more rest in games, especially for when we get into the bulk of conference games. We need him strong at the end.
I thought that Allard looked good when he was being aggressive in his limited minutes. He was actually attacking the basket with a bad shot, drawing a foul, and making a nice pass to Brekke for an easy layup. Need to see more of that out of him, but that is also something that we should see more with Huff returning.
Everyone is talking about the poor free throw shooting of Webb, but something that needs to be looked at in this game is the performance of our bigs. We got out-muscled on the boards and that comes back to Wilmer and Brekke. A single offensive player pulling down a rebound and putting back a basically uncontested layup when there are 4 white jerseys around him is just sad. Other than a few plays, we had almost no post presence all game in the offensive zone. Wilmer sounded so good against SDSU that I was hoping to see him develop that. Last night he showed nothing other than a few blocks and the early on pick and roll which disappeared through the course of the game.

When was the last time we actually wore the black jerseys for a home game?

This isn't necessarily just women's hockey related but I did find out this weekend at the womens game something interesting. I am not sure if any of you knew that in the past if a player from UND scored a hat trick in a game you would get 33% off of a hat in the SiouxShop. Apparently the NCAA caught wind of this and put the kabosh on it because it was profiting off of a student athletes success.
Joy for the NCAA screwing over something fun yet again.

Anyone remember what sort of discipline was handed out to Rau for that hit? Obviously the 5 and game misconduct but was there anything given after the game? Pretty dirty shot

This is mostly the same team as last year, minus the Mothersheds and with Wall being injured. Shows how important solid guard play can be. Eventually some of our guards are going to figure out how to effectively run this offense right?

Don't get me wrong, I would rather see Schuler starting and I agree with you. I was just saying what I think Jones will actually do. We'll have to see which approach he takes.
-
Seeing how Jones has done things in the past, I see it more like this (starter with backup after the / )
1 Webb / Antwi and Anderson
2 Anderson / Antwi and Webb
3 Huff / Schuler
4 Allard / Traylor (likely see this flipping later in the season)
5 Brekke / Wilmer
I don't foresee Webb and Anderson both being off the floor much at the same time and if that were to happen, I think Schuler would move to the 2 instead of having Benton come in. At least that's how I'd see things for the time-being.

So still no word on Jaron Nash?? I hadn't heard anything either... man, this is absurd.
Beyond absurd. Red tape and bureaucracy is keeping a young man from engaging in something he's dedicated time and sweat to.

I'm adding a class or two to everyone on defense's spring class schedule:
Football 103: Introduction to the Concepts of Tackling. Here we explore the notions behind the defensive strategy of tackling. We'll define the notions of "wrapping up" and setting an angle. Using the sideline as a 12th defender will also be explored.
Football 205: Wrapping Up. Here the finer points of wrap-up tacking will be detailed. Students will be expected to be proficient in the technique by the end of the course. Attempts to "blow up" or just "throw a shoulder into" tackle when a wrap-up is not already underway will be grounds for course failure.
At this point, I'm not sure how many will advance to the 300-level courses like "Read and React" or "Man Coverage and You".
Can we add a class at the 300 level, or heck maybe even 400 level, "The Bump and How to Use it Effectively"

Perspectives:
1. We're arguing about the outcome of a game between two mediocre teams... What did you expect?
2. Fire Muss? Wasn't he just given a contract extension last year? He's the same coach he's always been.
3. Hockey season is here and we're a hockey school first. Go cheer on Hak and the boys!
Your third reason is why I choose to ignore just about everything you say.

First half - 24 points
Second half - 3
Defense finally shows up in the second half and the offense crapped themselves. It certainly seemed neither team wanted to win in the 4th quarter.
-
I haven't really jumped on the Fire Muss stuff but this is absolutely ridiculous and it is not the first time we've been burned by questionable play-calling in late game situations and 4 down territory.
I really don't understand what they are thinking!
-
We've pissed this game down our legs. How many chances can we get, the defense finally starts playing and the offense just hands it over. Ridiculous!

Hanson interception.

Not a bad background. Hopefully he can bring some success with him.
