FYI - Carter Evanson and his Horace squad will be in Grand Forks next Friday night in a game against Central. May have to go check it out.

I just can’t believe Reggie Thomas is playing real D1 minutes. He was good today so it’s working just think we can get so much more out of AS3.

I haven’t watched anything but with the position versatility could he replace Wiltshire? Still hoping we can get another year out him.

UND opens the New Year with a home matchup against Oral Roberts on 1/1 at 1pm at The Betty. UND comes in at 6-10 and sitting 322 on KenPom. Oral Roberts is 5-10 and ranked 298. KenPom actually likes UND in this one, projecting a 76-75 Hawks win, so this feels like one of those coin-flip Summit-type games where home court could matter. Oral Roberts is led by senior guard Ty Harper (#1), a transfer from Youngstown State. He is their clear go-to guy, averaging 16.9 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. He can score at all three levels and will probably have the ball in his hands late. After him, keep an eye on #9 Ofri Naveh, a 6’7 sophomore putting up 12.7 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. Solid size and versatility. Then there’s #5 Connor Dow, a 6’6 junior who is their volume shooter. He has already taken 105 threes this season, hitting them at 33 percent, and is averaging 10.9 points. If he gets hot, that can change things quickly. This is also Oral Roberts’ first season under head coach Kory Barnett, so they are still figuring things out. One other thing I’m really curious about is what’s going on with freshman forward Micah Curtis for UND. He’s basically been MIA, only appearing in three games all year and hasn’t been with the team lately. Feels like a sure fire transfer. Should be an interesting one and feels like a game UND needs if they want any momentum heading deeper into Summit play.

I feel like that would be pretty surprising if he stays beings he wouldn’t be the OC. Wazzu is hiring Matt Miller for that role. Danny could take on the QB coach position but I think he can get a better role elsewhere

Well he already has 3 pretty talented kids coming signed to come in next year in Jayden Moore, Carter Evanson and Sage Hanson. Now will that happen if he doesn’t get renewed? Who knows.

Seems to be some heavy heavy smoke about NDSU moving up and not just football. I mean at this point it’s the boy who cried wolf when it comes to this topic but idk feels a little different right now.

Idk just from the headache the Curtis twins sound like, I would seriously think about parting ways with them. Clearly talented players but not going to be successful with the attitudes it seems they walk around with. Just my opinion from afar.

Honestly, that might be a top 5 game I’ve been to at the Betty. Just everything that happened made it quite the experience.

UND also plays Dakota State on Sunday, 12/28, who is 11-1 with their only loss (outside of exhibitions) being to 12-0 Bellevue. Big whoop, right? Well they have also played SDSU, lost 62-68, and then tonight played USD and lost 71-80 but led at halftime. There is a somewhat legitimate shot we lose that game with how we have been playing.

Yeah I don’t really know how it’s advantageous to have that many different things. Would think one would be better.

I do think Sather is a good coach but just not in this era of college basketball. Like it was a good hire but then we ran into Covid and the portal era and that’s just not his style.

Unless there’s a miraculous turnaround, I don’t see how we aren’t looking for a new coach in March so who is it? Kyan Brown? Jeff Boschee? I like the idea of going and getting a P4 assistant but I doubt we can pay enough. Idk I don’t feel good about the future of basketball at UND.

Yeah good chance he saw a difficult time climbing the depth chart with Jerry having 2 years left, Sulik right behind him and Brooks coming in plus JTJ if he sticks around. I do believe that Etienne is Fruechte’s first QB he recruited.
