Locally, NDSU made the playoffs in 2010, their 3rd season of eligibility. SDSU made the playoffs in 2009, their 2nd season of eligibility. UND's football program should be held to the same standard as these peer institutions I wasn't necessarily expecting a playoff season this year, but I was expecting a much more competitive, disciplined & prepared football team. That falls on the UND coaching staff. No reason that UND fans should not expect a competitive team year in & year out. There is little to no pride or enthusiasm in this program right now, from the coaches and players (you can see it on game day) down to the fans/alumni. Changes need to be made for the long-term benefit of the football program. The longer a coaching change is put off, the longer the rebuilding will take. Changes need to start next Monday.

Exactly, I put that on the coaching staff. Then in the post-game presser Muss makes excuses saying "we're supposed to continue to play, but typically they blow those dead..." "Typically"? What happened to playing 'til the whistle instead of assuming the ref will call it dead? Obviously, UND cannot advance the ball since it went past the LOS, but I counted at least 4 UND players that could've just walked over & touched the ball dead before the UNC player picks it up. They gave up. That's an unprepared special teams unit & that's on the coaches. (In the 10th game of the season)

I believe SDSU attendance was just over 10,000. But it still is quite a drop. The SDSU game had a lot of energy & a feeling of excitement from the crowd & team at the start of the game... The last game I attended was Sac St & you could've heard a pin drop at the opening kickoff. No energy from crowd or team. Totally different atmospheres. Kinda telling how the life was sucked out of the season game by game.

I sure hope not... Let's remember our 3 wins this year are against non-scholarship Valpo (1-9), Idaho St (currently 3-6 w/ 2 wins against DII & losing to Portland St as I type) & a 1-9 Northern Colorado team. Both games against perennial Big Sky bottom-feeders ISU & UNC weren't decided until the 4th quarter. If Muss & Co stay, I can't say I will renew my season tickets. I'd like to support the players, but this staff has frustrated me like no other. At this point the only thing that can bring some life & optimism to UND football next year is a new coaching staff. I will renew if a new staff comes in.

If there is a new coaching staff in place next year, I'd think both Mollberg & Bartles start w/ a clean slate & it is an open competition going forward. Also depends on Offensive scheme that a new staff would run.

Watched parts of the 2nd half. Nice to see the Seniors go out w/ a "W" at home. Finally saw some emotion out of the team towards the end. It's a "W" but doesn't change the fact that major changes are needed for the program going forward.

Who & why?

Well, that should clear out the remaining crowd. Talk about not having your head in the game, wow.

I believe I heard season tickets sold were around 4,500 for this season. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong... I know Dexter A. had told me there was an increase in season tix from last season. Like many others, my season tickets will not be in use Saturday. The actual "butts in the seats" will be embarrassingly low.

I believe PSU LB Corey Crowder was a verbal to UND & had a last minute change of heart & signed w/ PSU a few years ago.

As I walked out of the Alerus in the 3rd quarter yesterday, a lady & her husband were also leaving. She asked me if I was going home to rake leaves because they would rather rake leaves than watch that football game. I told her I already raked but I just couldn't stand to watch anymore. Pretty sad what a UND home game has become.

It's the same stuff, game after game... late hits, hits out of bounds, undisciplined mental mistakes. How come they can't make an open field one-on-one tackle but yet they can knock the snot out of someone after an incomplete pass?

ISU announcers said it's ISU homecoming, "great crowd" & will be their biggest of the year. Ouch. All I can see is empty seats on the webcast. Looks like we haven't hit rock-bottom yet.

On the other hand, do you think Faison wants to be known as the AD that oversaw a huge decline in the UND football program? Or does he clean house, bring in a new staff & hope they can lead the resurgence of the UND football program? It reflects extremely poorly on Faison if he sticks w/ Muss as "his guy" & the continued mediocrity & losing don't change, as well. I'd say that would look far worse than removing him 1 yr after extension.
