Pretty much all FBS teams have names on the back, many FCS teams are now starting to. Our hockey & basketball teams have names on the back of jerseys, why shouldn't our football team? I like it from a fan's perspective as well...

Wasn't Meindel a pretty accomplished kicker in HS too? I believe he was recruited to both kick & punt here...

He did bring those "knuckleheads" to Minot State. Pflugard wasn't with the Griz players at the time of their offenses either. Fair or not, ultimately, the head coach is somewhat responsible for his player's off-field actions. There's been many successful coaches that have gotten the boot because of player's off the field conduct. I'm not saying Rudolph should've been fired or not, but he did recruit & bring those players to Minot, therefore he has some level of responsibility for their actions.

I wasn't saying how many MN kids he should have or should not have on his Minot roster. I was replying to this post where someone stated that "most from ND and MN" Just pointing out that there isn't a ND kid on the Minot roster that didn't grow up within an Hr or so radius of Minot, as well as zero MN kids.

There 11 kids from ND on the Minot roster (4 of those are from Minot, the other 7 are from areas close to Minot: Velva, Harvey, Turtle Lake, Bottineau, Berthold, New Town) ZERO kids on the Minot roster from Minnesota schools. Not exactly the ideal recruiting footprint for UND. Maybe he recruited more of MN, Wisc, Iowa, Neb & Illinois while he was at St. Cloud & Upper Iowa. Does anyone remember this from this fall? I'd like to see our Coordinators, as well as position coaches, have legitimate FCS experience. Especially since we have upped the Assistant's salary pool. If we are top 4 or 5 in Big Sky assistant pay then we should be able to attract quality FCS-level assistants. Maybe Rudolph proves me wrong, IF hired, but DII does not excite me at all, the NCC days are over.
