Yep dorms were fun. I still remember having to sneak booze in. One time in particular I lugged 3 cases of bottled beer up to the top floor of Smith in my hockey bag. I'm sure nobody wondered why there was a bunch of glass clanking while I walked down the hallway. We did for the Frozen Four with UND/MN/CC/DU. THAT was a blast, minus losing to Denver. Hard to believe how long ago that was now.

I remember having a mouse in our dorm room in Smith one time about 14 years ago. Only time I ever saw it. That aside, I loved my time living in the dorms. I always had a blast. Its more about who you live with vs. Where you live. Spent time in a frat, and while that was fun, I actually didn't like the living style as much. Moved into an apartment with my buddies from the dorm. Again, it was a absolute blast.

You make some fair point but lose credibility with saying that 2016 was “not a great team”. Just a few guys from that team playing at the next level, and they dominated play most nights. if anything, I’d say was a great team, and knowing what we know now, they may have won in spite of not great coaching. im not saying Berry doesn’t know hockey. That would be asinine, but he has proved to be a good assistant. I don’t think he has what it takes to push kids into that next gear. There is zero edge to him, like what blais or Hak had. im just bored of Berry hockey. Even when Haks teams struggled they were still fun to watch. These past two season have been BORING hockey.

We should all be going over to GPL and celebrating, their success over the past few weeks is only helping our pairwise ... more than we are helping ourselves.

I just don't remember another UND team struggling to score as much as this year. Its ridiculous.

I sure hope so, being from MN and having perennial disappointment with sports teams, Sioux Hockey was always my one saving grace. I need that back. UND Basketball - down year, young ...likely no tourney UND Football - No playoffs Vikings - enough said Twins - playoffs are too expensive for the Pohlads Wild - they are trying their best to miss the playoffs That's a whole lot of watching sports with no real payoff.

You’re not wrong about it being irrational, even though I’d love to see Hak back. The more concerning part than the losses is the lack of grit we have seen over the past two years. The teams seem out skilled and out worked. Even when Haks teams didn’t have as much skill they just seemed to have a different mentality.

I miss UND being good. but seriously, I do miss the good ole days where UND, Wisco and the Goofs were all top teams. Old school WCHA was the absolute best conference. Honestly, its not much fun to see the Gophers struggle for more than a few games either. You want the teams you hate to be good, because it is that much more satisfying when you beat them.

I'm not saying he is going anywhere; but a strong argument could be made that he should. Regardless, there are some other coaches on staff that have not contributed much to the program. Plenty of blame to go around, but this is the worst hockey I've seen as a UND fan since I started watching back in 2003.

Whether Berry will be here next year or not is still up for debate (I think I’ve made my option clear on wanting Hak back), but there is no way Shaw should be allowed back in Grand Forks. This staff as a whole has done some terrible damage to this program; not just with wins/losses/missing the tourney. But toughness, PP, PK, Grit, etc. it’s not just losing, but how they lose. For a guy that loves to talk about culture, Berry’s teams doesn’t have. Culture.

Hey, at this point it would be good just to be back within reach. I'll gladly take 16 after the way this season has gone. Maybe it give the boys extra motivation for the next few weeks to finish strong.

It would be nice. It has been way to long since we have won a Conference Tourney Championship.

We'll see if they can finally finish a series tomorrow night and work their way back into tourney contention. If only you could flip the caniscius weekend this team would be in a whole different place.

Holy Kickers ... so is Leach still on the team? If so, I hope he is over at the HPC practicing. Love that there will be some competition at a position with a huge need for improvement.
