This is where you wish you had a conference affiliation, with someone in the room to make that argument. If this was next year, I would have almost no about making the playoffs. Very excited about the MVFC, just hope Bubba and crew are ready for it, and I've made my position on Bubba very clear on this site.

Could someone please remind me how the bidding works for playoffs? When do they do it? If UND wins tomorrow, there is still no guarantee that we make the playoff field, but the field is announced Sunday morning ... right? So would UND have to place the bid, just hoping that they make the field? Would be great to see them not only get in, but also host.

Given how UND has played in several games this season, and how we played in the last game of the year, last season. I am far more concerned with the S. Utah game, than any other FCS game that could impact us. The way this team plays, I (unfortunately) don't expect the blowout that should happen. I would like to see a good 3 TD win, and more importantly UND just controlling the game for a full 4 quarters. I guess we will see, but IF UND wins, and IF they make the playoffs ... it would be really nice to see them roll into the playoffs with a little momentum.

If, and it is a big IF, UND makes the playoff field, I expect a heft bid for home field in the first round. Thus far, this team has been far more successful at home; would be nice to see that continue.

Well, I missed the game on Saturday, as I was out trying to get some Christmas shopping done, and I'm kind of glad I saved myself the frustration ( I was frustrated enough following the score on my phone). I am glad we won, and glad we are still in the playoff picture, but the way this team is playing makes it tough to get excited. How do they play a game like they did again Weber, on the road, then come home and have a shootout with Northern Flippin Colorado? That is not the kind of showing you expect from a team that is going to make, or make any noise in, the playoffs. That is not the kind of showing you expect from a team trying to take that next step. I would expect nothing less than a blowout from NDSU, JMU, SDSU, Weber, or even UNI. Again, thrilled we won and that playoffs are still on the table, but the way this team plays, the lack of killer instinct, the inability for Offense and Defense to both have a solid game at the same time . . . . if we continue what we are doing, we will continue being mediocre. We will show flashes, and potential, and close losses to good teams; but I would rather see a team that makes the playoffs every year and actually makes some noise once they are there.

Heinert does do a fantastic job. The guy is so enthusiastic in his job. Doesn't commentate with bias, and altogether puts together a quality presentation that is lacking in so many other NCHC school. Not saying he is perfect, but he does a damn good job. I also enjoy his football pxp.
