  1. Is it Saturday yet?!?! Clearly I'm excited to watch some football because I'm getting distracted from work. Ultimately we all want a W, but I would love to see more of a statement game. Not a blowout, but a game we we can win TOP and turnovers, and just look the part. Surprise some people and show that we have some dangerous tools, not be a questionable team that got lucky. Winning by two scores would be ideal here, and maybe that is very doable. Should be good: Pass D, O-Line, Linebackers, Wide Receivers - Secondary should not be a concern, plenty of skill and leadership here, so long as they don't have to step up too much to help with run coverage. - O-Line finally appears to be a big, strong, seasoned group. Keep building depth here Bubba! When it was first announced we were moving into the MVFC this was a big area of concern, but the staff has done a nice job of improving the OL. -Linebackers barely makes this more me. Noah Larson is a stud, Ray Haas is experience and has the great size, and Turner is lights out. Krzanowski is a question mark, purely because we haven't seen him. My question here comes down to depth, I just don't know much about some of our back ups. Sounds like Urweiler could step in nicely and get some great experience. These guys could be called upon a ton, depending on how our DL play. -WR is a fun group. Maag is a stud, and not just because of his size. The guy has skill and appears to have the work ethic and mentality needed as a leader. I'm really excited to see what Jake Richter brings to the table. Hoping to see guys like Preston and Belquist get some opportunities as well. These guys need to help the QB out early and make some plays. Question Marks: QB, RB, DL - Are the QBs boom or bust? Do the coaches make quick enough decisions to rotate guys if they aren't playing well? Several factors here. I'm 100% behind Schuster if the coaches think he is the guy. BUT if he gets out to a slow start, the coaches need to be prepared to give Vaughn a look as well. Game time play is just different than practice. Regardless, its nice to have some depth and potential at this position. These guys should get bailed out a bit by their WRs, and for the love of god, could we please use our TEs more this year? - There seems to be talent in the RB group, but its unproven. Gee has the experience, but I'm looking to guys like Skokna and Weah to be impact players. Skokna needs to get some pass catching opportunities in space. I'd also like to see Mitchell get to use some of that speed we are hearing about. Behind what should be a good O-Line, these guys need to step up big time. - Mason Bennet will be missed, but there is still some experience on the line, I just wish some of these guys had added a little more size. It would be nice to see more Morrison and Johnson playing with another 15-20 lbs; though maybe Johnson has enough speed on the end. I'm looking for a big year out of Devore. Hoping to see Orlando get some reps to, though not on the 2 deep yet. Concerns: Special Teams - ST will continue to be a concern for me until proven otherwise. Kicking is the first issue. We need to make our PATs and we should not have to cringe every time we line up for a 30 yard FG. Could we please please please get some touchbacks this year? And I really hope Kostich has done something to improve kick coverage. I would hate to see us lose a game, or even get into a close game because of blown kick coverage.
  2. 7am hockey with my rookie mite too, it'll be a very long but fun day.
  3. Get the Grady Train to GF! haha this one will continue being mentioned for years.
  4. agreed
  5. Anyone else’s feed cut out a few times?
  6. Pretty high praise from Tom Miller on Jake Richter. Definitely excited to see what he can do.
  7. I have to think ESPN3/+ will still be streaming the games, even if they aren't up yet. Super pumped that we are just over a week away from UND football. It seemed like it was never going to happen! That being said, there have been too many season since going D1 where I am been totally pumped for the potential of this team only to get some early disappointment. Lets go get a big win in week 1! There is talent out there, I hope the coaches maximize it!
  8. Yeah, I had to unfollow her a long time ago. It was just too much to sift out of my feed.
  9. Sounds like I needed to watch this one.
  10. Only just realized there are no games this weekend. I totally though DU was this weekend, not next weekend. bummer!
  11. Hopefully to our benefit and not our disadvantage. Coaches need to be smart in the decisions they make. Just because a play is eligible for another year, does not mean the coaches are required to give them that extra year. For some players it may make sense, for others it may not. Coaches will need to evaluate position depth, current player, incoming player, and potentially even incoming transfers.
  12. Can UND pay for the players to attend kicking camps, or does that all have to be on their own?
  13. Have they updated weights on the UND website yet? I assume not, because there were some guys, specifically on the O and D line that had added more weight.
  14. Big opportunity in the first few weeks to get wins over team picked ahead of us, especially at home. No surprise we are picked low in the first year of the conference, with several new key pieces. That being said, we could absolutely surprise some people this year; doesn't mean we will, but there is definitely some talent there.
  15. Also, since this is a free year, what are the chances we see Evan Holm back again in the fall? Guy might have a PhD by then.
  16. Really excited! From what it looks like there are some really good tools in place. Hopefully the coaches use them correctly, and actually scheme for other teams (may be tougher this year). I feel like in the past the coaches have had the mentality of "This is our style, we aren't going to change it", the lack of adjustments has cost us games. For me, there are some question marks at QB and RB, only because we haven't really seen much from these guys. That being said, I think there is a ton of potential with Schuster and Vaughn. Hoping both get playing time. Neal has plenty of athleticism too. RB has a ton of potential as well; I know Gee is the veteran and a steady player, but I feel like he lacks in some areas. Skokna has shown flashes, speed shiftiness. Weah has shown his power and worked his tail off to get back on the field; I'm really hoping to see him get some big plays. Mitchell has the speed ... Last time we got excited about a speed guy, he transferred to a D2 school; hoping this one works out better. I think we would all like to see some flashes of a Santiago and big runs. As Miller wrote in one of his articles, WR is probably one of the deepest spots on the team, though we some older players that haven't all had a ton of playing time. Maag, Richter and BB will be fun to watch, but there is plenty of talent both young and old behind them. It'll be interesting to see who steps up. CB should also be fun to watch, and I really hope with the talent we have, we get back to a ton of INTs like a few years back.
  17. What are the odds UNO hangs a banner for this win?
  18. Agreed, but it really didn’t cost us the game. UND lost it themselves.
  19. Omaha goalie is a jerk for having some dark tape on the knob of his stick. I’ve counted about 8 phantom goals lol.
  20. Did mishmash get a penalty? Lmao
  21. I didn’t see that close, but I’m not sure the uno player actually did anything. Could be wrong though. I only half saw it.
  22. Just saw the score. How the hell did we steal this one, after how bad we were trailing? Glad to see a W, but would like to see this team control games more and not have to fight back.
  23. Omaha realizing how soft their season has been. Reality check for the cows.
  24. "Omaha has been to a frozen four" - Starman ... thats cute
  25. Get those brooms ready for tomorrow night boys!
