  1. Alabama plans for it ... I though NDSU was basically the same?!?! Just joking, of course
  2. Curious what your thoughts are on Entz? Do think his style, methods, attitude may cause some issues with the players? I obviously don't know the guy, but have never been as impressed with him as I have with Kliemann or Bohl. Entz has seemed to have this bit or arrogance to him that I don't care for. Maybe I'm off base with that.
  3. I was going to say, not sure what he would have had to do to be in the doghouse. Didn't is net a few the other night.
  4. Not sure about Mesa, but I was just in Scottsdale for the past week. Hiked Camelback Mountain while wearing my UND shirt and got about 5 "Go Sioux!" comments on the way down. Also ran into some Yotes fans at the top.
  5. These kids may want to look at a different career path. It is like these two went on to Wikipedia to learn about football before immediate going on air to do PxP and color commentary. This is just absurd. It reminds me of the Big Bang Theory episode where Leonard learns about football rules so he can try to watch a game with Penny and her friends, then spews out the rules word for word. Wasn't there a radio simulcast they could have used?
  6. OMG when I watched part of the game this past weekend, I was traveling and watched on my phone muted ... Just starting to rewatch now, and the commentary is even worse than I expected based on the comments here. Are there no standards to this stuff? This is like the "boom goes the dynamite" level of crap.
  7. The Grady Train! He still has some eligibility left!
  8. Not saying NDSU still isn't a good team, but name another team (other than possible UNI) that would be ranked this high after the thumping they took to SIU? Whether we lose to them, or beat them. The W/L resumes are far different right now, which is what rankings should be based on.
  9. So they can spend another 3 years in the basement, not throwing to their tight ends?
  10. This cannot be a close game. UND needs to get rolling from the first drive and never look back. I'm sure we will be able to get the run game going, but we need to start connecting on some of those deep passes that we have missed. Get the W, and build the momentum going into Fargo.
  11. Still makes no sense to have the Bison at #2. Haley is playing historical data here, which is completely irrelevant. It is almost like he is trying to setup for a crazy UND/NDSU matchup .... this is why polls are dumb. Undefeated team at 3. Team with 1 loss at 2, and that once loss was a blowout to the team ranked number 3. Team names aside, the math doesn't add up.
  12. Tychonich is kind of an a$$
  13. Who unplugged the cord?
  14. Not just me hun, hope it’s back soon.
  15. Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. Skokna almost hit a home run ball had he not, just barely, stepped out of bounds as well. It bodes well that we can beat a talented team like that, while still missing on quite a few opportunities.
  16. Only going to get better with McNeal coming in to.
  17. right! I would love to know what else he has in his play book, and I'd be ok with seeing that one again, especially when Brock is back.
  18. I have to imagine that the way UND is playing, in conjunction with the way NDSU is playing will really help balance the regional recruiting IF the trajectory continues through the spring. Wins over SDSU and USD already help, and a win over NDSU would be big too. A strong spring season is great, but if we can back it up with another nice season in the Fall we will really be positioning ourselves to win more of the recruiting battles we need. I am well aware that I am looking way to far ahead with some of this, but from a recruiting standpoint, it would certainly help. From a playing standpoint, all focus is on Western.
  19. probably, but it would still be nice to see some of the other back ups get some playing time. Certainly need to get Quincy on the field a bit more if possible. I thought he could have had the 4th quarter against SIU, but it was probably more important to get Tommy some good reps that early in the season. haha, I'm ok with being a little greedy. I was just looking back at some scores and schedules from my freshman year of college (03), we expected that team to win every week they were out there. It is fun to start seeing those expectations work their way back. This is a good team, and there is a lot of youth. Bright future here! I had plenty of doubts about Bubba, mainly in how he hired, but he has certainly made some improvements there. We don't have this team if Rudy is still on the staff. Kostich has certainly done a nice job of proving people wrong too. The team just needs to keep doing what they are doing. From play calling, to recruiting, to lifting ... everything seems to be trending in the right direction, not just for winning, but for sustainability. Sustainability is key .... I want to see UND as a perennial power, not a team that is good for a year and then falls to the back of the pack for a few years. Wow, I am greedy.
  20. If I didn't dislike Sean Payton so much, I would agree. Great coach, but as a Vikings fan, I just don't like the guy, Point made though, this team needs to just keep being who they are. They started at the bottom, and if they don't take care of business, they could end at the bottom. Have to maximize the opportunity they have here.
  21. It would be nice to see just one game this year where we could put the team away by half time, give Quincy the second half and even get Reid Neal on the field a bit. Game time experience is so valuable to the development of depth.
  22. I think it is also worth putting out there, Tommy may look like he misses on quite a few deep passes, but he is also attempting more than I think we have seen in recent years. He has connected on a few down the field; I think it was last week he dropped a dime to Maag running down the right side of the field. I think Freund is more confident taking deep shots this year, because IF Tommy misses, it is usually in a way that nobody can get it (though there have been a few close calls), and there is more confidence that if we miss deep on 2nd and long, we will still be able to get the 3rd down, which seems to be getting better every game. All of that being said, if Tommy can increase the number of connections on those deep balls, Otis and Co. are going to start finding a lot more room to run.
  23. Exactly, the mentality has to be there are no easy games. The first game we take it easy, is the first game we lose. I would have to think the boys are enjoying this winning culture, and don't want it to stop. It would be all too easy to look ahead to the SU game, as that will be plenty hyped, but lets take care of Western and get game going on the road.
  24. I was hoping Vaughn would be the starter, purely because of size and strength, but Tommy has gotten the job done. I would still like to see a little more of what Quincy can do, but Tommy is doing just fine and will only get better. Needs to make a few more of those throw, but for a young kid, he is VERY promising.
