  1. My best guess: At Idaho State - Win At Utah State - Win Vs. Drake - Win Vs NDSU - Loss : UND is really good at home, but until we beat the Bison, its tough to pick against them. At South Dakota - Loss : UND is the better team here, but UND/USD games get weird, and playing in Vermillion can be tough. It is the kind of game we should win if we want to continue moving towards being a dominant program. At Southern Illinois - Win : This one will be interesting. Beating SIU on the road would be a really nice win. Not sure what to expect from them next year, as they have been so hot or cold this season. Vs Western Illinois - Win At Missouri State - Win Vs Youngstown - Win Vs Illinois State - Win At South Dakota State - Loss : The SDSU win was huge this season, but playing them on the road is a bit different. If my other guesses are correct and UND can head into this game on a 5 game win streak, potentially fighting for a Valley Championship, then who knows what happens here. Have to limit the Janke bros. 8-3 with an FBS win. Does this get you a seed with the playoff field going back to normal? The biggest issue I see with my predictions is, I don't see us getting swept by the Dakota schools and still having this good of a record, BUT until this team proves they can win on the road, some of these will be tough. I could maybe swap the USD and SIU predictions. Can't wait to watch.
  2. I just want to see this team take the next step forward. Can't take a step back and miss the playoffs next year (No losing to Idaho St!) ... this is a playoff caliber team, but that is not guarantee. I also get sick of hearing that we are a different team on the road, but it will continue to be a conversation until we prove otherwise ... which I think we will. I will be very interested to see how some of the new kids contribute, who stays, and who we can pickup via the portal; hopefully a safety and a speedy receiver, maybe a kicker/punter. We should certainly be a more attractive spot for transfers than we were a few years ago.
  3. I would take Studsrud over Ketteringham and his stupid corn rows. I also got sick of watching Kett try to fit the ball into a window that wasn't there. Studs may not have had the most talent, but he seemed like a good team guy and he played tough.
  4. Some more back shoulder throws outside. Those seemed to work when called, but was underutilized.
  5. How does he compare to this Mushila guy? and do we still have any openings?
  6. My sources say he is still just trying to get further away from Canada.
  7. That was the best O-Line in this program in like 20 years; lost an experienced player right before the playoffs and plugged in a Freshman. Even with the Freshman, I don't think there was much of a drop off. If you want to run on programs like NDSU and JMU, it isn't simply the O-Line needs to be better .... O-Line was fine, but you need to be able to stretch the field. If we have a threat over the top, the run game will open up against the good teams, and the floodgates will open against the mediocre ones. D-Line is talented, just undersized.
  8. Also had another long pass early in the season to either Maag or Richter which should have been caught.
  9. All of the trash talking about Tommy is a bit surprising considering the overachievement of this team over a strange season. New conference, new QB, new RB, some new receivers. Tommy has beat Sam Houston, Southern Illinois, South Dakota State, Western Illinois and Missouri State. That’s pretty impressive for a young kid who is still developing. Now I have been vocal about getting Quincy some reps, but not because I think he should jump up the depth chart. I just think you want your second guy ready to go (and maybe he won’t miss snaps in a big game). I think Tommy has proven he is the guy, and I only expect him to get better. He is clearly a smart QB and doesn’t turn the ball over much (1st turnover was not on Tommy, the other one was a bad decision and should have been 6pts the other way). Tommy may not be a huge downfield passer, but he has shown that he can do it when needed. If we want to see more downfield shots, we need some burners he can beat the secondary (as @geauxsioux has previously mentioned). Now he does need to make some better decision on when to pull the ball down and run, which he has shown he can do effectively at times. For those who think Tommy can’t be the guy, we could certainly get a bigger, stronger, faster guy; but then we might be having the same conversation complaining about the poor decision making. Tommy still has a ton of time to clean up other areas of the game, but at this point he isn’t typically going to lose one for you. Put some extra pieces around Tommy and he will thrive.
  10. I'd rather pick up a good transfer over Galvin. Other than his INT last week, he just hasn't impressed me. Maybe it is because I'm not an expert at safety, but he seems to get beat quite a bit. Had some horrible tackle attempts yesterday, though a lot of guy did.
  11. With the right player, yes! JJ was never that player; he stood to straight when he ran, and despite his size, he just never really got any push, and he seemed slow. Give me an Oliveira over a JJ any day. I still remember watching Brady take on a DL straight up and send him flying.
  12. Tough loss, but it was a fun Spring season. Lots of potential with these guys. O-Line has improved so much, now we just need to get bigger on the D-Line. I was a little disappointed in our secondary giving up a few of those long pass plays, without that maybe we have a chance. I'll take JMU to win over SHSU, but I'm sure that will be a good game.
  13. Way to reminiscent of the NDSU game. Guys playing tight and scared.
  14. Another win or two, could have huge implications in recruiting and making this team better over the next few years. Have to show that we aren't satisfied just to be there. Win the game and elevate the program. Win the next game and elevate it more. You want to big a top dog in the FCS, you have to be the top dogs in the FCS.
  15. This game can't come soon enough, so now I'm re-watching the Misery St. game again, haha.
  16. haha I'll give you a pass since it has been a weird Spring season. Appreciate the write ups!
  17. I think he also got an offer from Utah State. Would be funny to see him end up there next year when we go beat them in Utah.
  18. I'm just going to put this little preseason tidbit here. Picked to finish 7th in the Valley, and never given a chance at playoffs. I get why it may have been picked that way in a strange season, with no knowledge of how UND would perform in a new conference. Just fun to see what these guy have accomplished. Keep it going! Why not us, why not now?
  19. Isn't that the essence of a Vikings fan? To believe 100% that this is finally the time, only to be let down!?!?
  20. Now lets beat JMU and get Bubba to .500 in the playoffs.
  21. Favre should have a second one too, but the Saints are a bunch of cheaters.
  22. It was definitely nice to see that they didn't risk Weah getting injured.
  23. To be fair, its not like this conversation just started. It has been going on since game one, and there have been multiple opportunities. I just don't want to see our season fall apart, whether it be this spring or in the fall, because we have an injury to our QB and we have backups with no experience. Not advocating for Quincy to take over the starting job, Tommy is doing everything he needs to. BUT do you want to see a backup freshman QB go into this game, or the next game, or even the national championship without any experience, if needed? Maybe he would be just fine, I think I would just feel better if he had some more reps running the offense. At least get him comfortable and knock some nerves out.
  24. That's what I was hoping for. Glad its a bone and not an ACL. Hoping for a speedy recovery!
