I know, he takes it a little too far. I'm all far supporting your team and even giving other teams a hard time in good fun, but he takes it to the next level. Whatever.

have to agree with Kingranch. We should enjoy our win, but we have more to prove beyond beating WYOMING before we put ourselves in the status of the recent Bison teams. Drake should be a game to clean up mistakes and prep for NDSU. Pull off a win there and we can start talking about a power shift, but not until then. Super pumed about our win, and it is awesome for bubba and the boys, bit let's not get ahead of ourselves.
-
Doesn't really matter. Want to get ranked, win your next two. I judge this over way more than our win, but the way we won. Glad to see our D lived up to the hype today.
-
Quite the meltdown on Wyonation, and I guess it's understandable. Frustrating to.lose to a lower level team, especially one without recent success. The are some pleasant bison fans on the WYO forum pointing out how terrible we are, and the the is rock bottom for Wyoming. Also that the loss must be because of Wyoming and not Bohl. Kind of funny there. Reality is that Bubba had are guys ready to play. D lived up to the hype. RB was a pleasant surprise, and Studsrud played well and limited mistakes. This team will continue to improve, and while this win does not make us a playoff team or even narrow the spread against the Bison, it is another step in the right direction. Way to go bubba and way to go team. Dominate Drake and cleanup some mistakes before the Bison.

haha I tought the same thing. More so when he had the mustache though.

Finally, it is gameday! Hope to see some nice surprises from our offense and a solid game to start the season. Get the win the build off of. Sioux pull the upset 21-19
-
Exactly, really disappointing to seem them lose that game in that fashion. Play well enough to win the game, then make just enough mistakes to ensure you lose it. Fumbling inside the 20 was bad enough, but fumbling as you are about to cross the goal line took away enough point to win the game. Doesn't mean they would have won if they score there; that could have changed how the rest of the game was played, but it would have been a huge momentum shift. Should be interesting to see how they do the rest of the season. As a MN I have no problem pulling for the Goofs (as long as it isn't hockey, and they aren't playing UND in an other sport). Especially in Football though; Jerry Kill is a pretty likable guy.

http://www.mwcconnection.com/2015/9/4/9254965/north-dakota-vs-wyoming-familiarity-toughness-makes-for-interesting This just showed up on Siouxsports twitter feed. Gotta love that they list us as the North Dakota SIOUX

exactly, makes me a little nervous throwing an unproven QB out there, but we have improved the WR spot, so we'll see how that helps. Plus Studsrud has actually had time to practice with the starters. I think we have good enough athletes at RB, that we should be able to make some noise there, IF the O Line plays like they did at the end of last year.
-
What are some realistic numbers for Studsrud. I don't see him putting up huge passing number, but he will need to be efficient and limit mistakes. Really hoping he has had significant improvement and gain confidence over last season. I understand he was really thrown into the mix last year without being ready, but hopefully we don't see those types of numbers at any point this season. Really excited for the season to start, and hope to see some surprises from this group; both as a team, and with individual performances.

Not understanding all the quotes ... Are there comments to go with those?

I don't live in the region anymore, and don't see all of this news. Not sure what you are referring to, but it doesn't sound pretty. Frankly at that point I don't really care about University affiliation; actions like that speak loudly about the individual not the school. I don't recall any sort of character test when I applied for school, they go purely off of academics. Students all over the country would be rejected from colleges if character/personality was in the equation. Ted Kaczynski was accepted to Harvard, then Michigan, and taught at CAL. Wouldn't change my opinion of those schools based on him. Everyone wants their alma mater to be painted in the best light, but unfortunately every school has those who tarnish the name.
-
Hey, lets not go there. Lets not associate the dumb action of someone with an entire campus of students. We all know there are moron students at every school. We'll see what comes out of this, but I don't think anyone condones physical assault, certainly because of sexual orientation. Personally I think drunk kids who get in fights for no reason are morons, but if you are really going to target someone because of their sexual orientation then you deserve whatever comes your way, I don't care where you go to school. Now if we're going to insult school based on sports teams that one thing, lets leave the rest of the crap elsewhere.

Sort of ... they are legal .... just not if you play for UND ..... not if you play against NDSU ...... not if you are tackling Carson Wentz ....... and not if he has a high ankle sprain.
-
I think it has been said enough on here that if Wentz is THAT injured, he has no business on the field. If he does, it is at his own risk. The game is also played at a fast pace, and I don't think any player is going to go out there focusing solely on Wentz ankle. You have taken one post from the message board and completely derailed it into the entire UND fanbase being the bad guys, as though we have any control over what coaches do or do not do. And enough with the Bison fans are angels and would never say anything wrong stuff. There are plenty of obnoxious fans in every fanbase, even UND, and even the Ag School.
-
This was exactly the point I was trying to make to him. Pretty much in one ear and out the other. He is ranting over on Bisonville about how he hopes Wentz doesn't play against UND, cuz apparently one posters comments are indicative of not only the entire fanbase, but also the game plan of the coaches. Ridiculous.
-
Let the fans underestimate us, but I guarantee the coaches won't. Kliemann is their coach because he is smart enough to take it one week at a time. Will UND be NDSU's toughest opponent, probably not, but I think it should be a competitive game, and I think our Def (as shown on paper) should give them a hard time (we'll know more after we have seen our boys play a game). I don't think they are totally wrong in saying that Stick needs to get some reps, and would be better to do that against teams who have not proved to be dominant yet. I hope in a year or two UND is considered dominant, and I think we are moving in that direction, but we are not there yet. As for an injured player, especially a QB, let him fully heal, or he could end up with a lingering issue the entire season. Can't wait for this game. Hope it is entertaining and competitive, but even if it goes pear shaped, it will still be fun.
-
Not disagreeing with you. I guess when I said you don't target the angle, I meant more, don't go out there taking cheap shots to hurt, re-injure, extend the injury of a player. Truth is, I wouldn't want to see my team taking cheap shots against anyone injured or not. I think we are on the same page relating to go hard after the player, especially if they are willing to take the risk and play. I'm just not for playing cheap to injure, not that I think most people are.

We were having a 3rd birthday party for my daughter, so I didn't get to watch the game as closely as I normally would. Completely missed that part. Which quarter?
-
Hahaha hilarious, I almost made a karate kid reference
-
Does anyone know at what point in the game the injury happened?
-
There wasn't a single person that didn't get pissed when the Iceland player took that monster chop at Adam Bank's wrist right after he came back from a wrist injury!! Or when Gordon Bombay got taken out with the knee injury!! Intent to injure is not cool!!
-
Seems like this issue can probably be put to rest. Did NDSU make it out of that game fairly healthy, other than the Wentz injury?
-
In a sense, but there is forcing the QB to hurry on an injured ankle, then there is actively trying to dive at, or attack, that same ankle. I guess the best way to look at it is if the intent is to force the QB to be uncomfortable (ex. run or scramble on a bad ankle) OR is the intent to re-aggravate, re-injure, or extend the injury of the player. I think there is a pretty obvious difference, and what is acceptable vs what is not is pretty common sense. Unfortunately, it seems like some posters don't understand this. If you are walking on the field with a sole purpose of injuring someone, you have no business out there.
-
Hahahaha a Bison fan just posted a 41 point spread on Wyonation for the UND/Wyoming game. Hilarious ... If that were to actually happen, we would be doomed for the season!
