It's ok guys. I'm pulling the whiskey out for the second half. It's all up hill from here.

Might be tied, but this is ugly!
-
That's what I thought too, but remember it's the first game. We knew it would look ugly.

Bold prediction

Anyone know what uniforms we are wearing tonight? Green and White?

re-signed ... my bad

Boom! Can't wait!

Thats a good one. That would be a fun way to open the season.

I just picked up my Roku, so I'm hoping that the feeds are a little better through that compared to my laptop.
-
I've also watched a few of these in the MSP area, but the quality hasn't been terrible. I like it over some of the issues that come with running the games through my PC.

I'd love to see toivonen get rolling early

Haha, I know right! I believe the "Dad Award" comes in bottle or can form. I'll be watching both, and probably flipping over the to the Gopher football game as well. It is truly a good day when there is so much football back on TV.

Stony Brook has a feed through their website, otherwise the game is available on the College Sports app on Roku.

Santiago was the obvious, and most likely choice, so I had to mix it up a bit. haha

I'm jacked! This is going to be a long day of work, and then I have to head to my kids open house for school (not sure why the school district doen't play around UND athletics), hoping I don't miss it; or don't miss much of it. Got my Roku yesterday and it is ready to go. Grab your beers fellas, the road to the playoffs start today!

If we're going offensive TD, I'll take Clive. If we're going defensive TD, I'll take Labatt. Pick 6, reminiscent of the Northern Colorado game last season. In the spirit of our new Hawks nickname: "Its not worth winning if you can't WIN BIG!!"
-
Who score the first TD? Obviously UND, but which player?

So Ratelle resigned with the Falcons.

Per Ian Rapaport, Torn ACL, done for the season.

I think the reason most people are nervous here, is not actually because of whom we are playing but more because for the first time in a long time there are some lofty expectations for the football season, and we don't want to see those expectations suffer an immediate hit. That is more of what makes me nervous for the game. When I actually look at the matchup, I feel a little more comfortable. Not a sure win kind of confidence; not like Sioux hockey playing Alabama-Huntsville kind of confidence; but overall I like what I see. They clearly have a strong defense, particularly in the run. I see Bubba sticking to the run game and wearing them down. Remember we don't just have an All-American in Santiago, we also have Oliveira, Norberg, Neverman and Gordon. That is a lot of big, powerful and strong depth to keep throwing at a defense. Keaton really took a step forward last season and proved why he was the clear cut starter; this year he has more depth at WR and TE (anxious to see Cloyd, but hope he redshirts). The only real question I have on offense is the O-Line. Naturally I wish we had Grady, but that is one guy. I still think we have a pretty good group. As for defense, we know what we have. Thin but strong at safety. Reyes and Arnell should be solid. Palmborg played really well for a true freshman last season. Front 7 don't need to be discussed. Definitely towards the top in the FCS. The only area that is suspect is a very young, unproven group of corners. Hopefully Stepps is having an impact, and hopefully our safeties can step in to hedge some of their mistakes. This worries me more in games 2 and 3; but we are playing a group who wants to run, and who's QB threw few TDs and several interceptions last season. Probably not going to be a huge lopsided score, especially in a first game, but I still take UND 24-10. If UND can create some separation early and get some momentum there is a chance they could roll. Again, what scares me is not Stony Brook, but the idea that our lofty expectation could take a hit early.

Agreed. Both defenses should be good, but I'll definitely give the edge to us in comparing offenses.
-
Hope it works! haha

Motion to ban nodak651 ...need a second .... j/k I obviously hope you are wrong, as it would kind of be a blow to the type of program we are trying to build. Programs that want to be at the top, should lose to teams like SB. That is not a knock on SB, they have a great defense. But this is a game that our boys should expect to win (NDSU, Montana, UNI would all expect to win a game like this, we should too). That being said we are not quite to that elite level yet, and botched snaps are certainly a possibility with Coe being new. Even against a stout defense, I see Santiago hitting a hole or getting outside. I also think we'll see a long connection from Studs to Clive. I'm going 24-10. Good guys win.

Winning the turnover battle will be crucial on Thursday. Could be quite a few in this game.
