I have said it before, I hate the idea of eliminating sports, as it is eliminating opportunities for students. UND has done a great job of making the women's program relevant, and I think a lot of that was due to the Lamoreux girls coming back home. Purely from a business standpoint, I think eliminating women's hockey would solve a lot of budgeting issues. Not sure what kind of crowd they draw, or how much revenue they generate.

While I would hate for Reyes to miss the game, I would hate even more for him to reaggravate it and be out longer. Arnell will need to have a big time game, and hopefully Palmborg is ready to go.

haha I'll take $1.50 for every usage lol

That's what I was goin for Biz, don't turn this into your own thing now jk, hopefully he looks as good at UND as he did in that clip. Smooth skating, nice stick handling, great presence of where he is.

Yep, just picture it next year, when UND is playing for its 3rd consecutive Nat'l Championship. "Goochi" or "Gooooooch", which I'm going to go ahead and trademark right now, will pull a move like that and we'll get to hear Bucci throw a "Holy Schnikes!!!!" out there.

Kawaguchi won't be as versatile as Lasch or Roe. Those two played well on the ice, but were stand outs on SCSU's diving team. Never seen anything like it.

Some pretty WACky ideas out here ..... see what I did there jk SV

Jost will be an interesting situation. There is always the risk of one and done, but I agree, I don't think him staying would be magic either. UND has been great at keeping these top kids for, at least, two years. Hopefully Jost looks at everyone around him, and who has played there before him. Parise, Oshie, Toews, Boeser, etc. all stayed for more than 1 year. I think most of these kids are smart enough to come into school with an open mind. They may know they won't stay for 4 years, but I think they are open to staying more than 1 depending on how the 1st year goes. That's where UND succeeds. Easier to have a kid want to stay when you are winning consistently, playing in front of a full house every night, and playing for such a great group of coaches. I think the "college life" is also a great asset that a lot of kids who go the "other route" miss out on.

That was my thought. Would love to have Bowers here, and I think they would find a way to make room for him, but I think he'll go out east.

What is the likelihood of landing bowers? I'm betting he lands in one of the Boston jerseys but we'll see.

Maybe we save the UND vs NDSU banter for when we make the playoffs and there is or is not a matchup. Bottom line, it doesn't matter what matchup we want. You play what you get.
-
38-17 UND keeps the momentum. Wins TOP, Turnovers and the game.
-
Sucks that we played soo bad the first few weeks. If we had played like these past few games, we would have cleaned up.
-
NDSU has 5 consecutive championships and are in a bigger city. They have more fans. Thats it. UND won't flip the switch over night, but we have definitely made more progress. Just have to keep it goin.

Didn't realize that Montana had a fairly weak schedule this season too. Other than Eastern Wash, MT doesn't have another overly challenging opponent. Would like to see them beat Eastern, and UND run the table. UND Montana Different Opponents Stony Brook Saint Francis Bowling Green UNI South Dakota Mississippi Valley State Weber State Eastern Washington Similar Opponents Montana State Cal Poly Cal Poly Southern Utah Sacramento State Sacramento State Southern Utah Northern Arizona Idaho State Idaho State Northern Colorado Northern Colorado Northern Arizona Montana State

Thanks guys, good to see the replays. also nice to finally see all of the goals from the Sat night hockey game.
-
I just want to see some of the highlights from the game. Do I really need to pay and upgrade my UND Insider membership, or are the highlights free somewhere?

It is pretty eye opening on how biased, and how much lack of detail there is in FCS reporting. I can completely understand that North Dakota is not a program with a lot of pedigree at this level yet. But reporting purely on historical success, rather than what is actually happening in a given season is just as bad as the pollsters propping UNI up in the top 25 with a losing record (6 weeks into the season). Its all based on history and what different teams have done in different seasons, rather than what is going on right now. In some ways we have see this with the Gophers in hockey, even on their down years; and I'm sure we will see some of it with UND hockey whenever UND has a decline or a down year, but it drives me crazy. As a reporter, you can certainly be of the opinion that Montana is a better team than UND, and I don't think that would be an outlandish comment, based on how good MT is this year, combined with some of UND's early season question marks. But to not even acknowledge that UND is 4-2 (3-0), ranked in the top 25, and a Big Sky contender who is currently sitting ahead of MT is just poor reporting. Also sick of hearing about UND's weak conference schedule. I don't believe the team chooses their conference matchups for the year, so what are they supposed to do? You're given a schedule, you're supposed to win those games ... that is what they are doing. Maybe next time we have a weaker schedule we should just say " screw this season, it doesn't really mean anything".
-
Also states that Santiago did not play. That's good reporting there.
-
This got me to lol at work. Anything related to that movie is just hilarious.
-
The whole team looks like a bunch of car salesmen with those zip up jackets over their shirt and ties.
-
I hadn't even see that one. Even more to my point about ranking based on pre-season potential rather than what is actually happening.
