  1. The post was half serious. I don't know who he is really. He must have been here or around either before 1998 or between 200 and 2002
  2. Who is this guy? Maplewhatever? He doesn't sound like anyone connected remotely to UND let alone NCAA. Or am I wrong?
  3. YaneA-- Not going to be at the games, and I am not sure if the guy who is going to replace me will hold signs. He claims he's better behaved than I am though Oh well. At least he'll show up at least 30 min pre game. I made him promise.
  4. Don CHerry dislikes any non Canadian hockey player except those who play on Canadian teams. I think it visibly pains him to admit that a player who isn't canadian is good. Especially if the team for which the player plays is not Canadian.
  5. last time I talked about East Vs West I got snubbed But still, I wouldn't have been able to live with myself if UNH won the NC last year so. Down with the lEast in with the WCHA. P.S. I love Chicago thus far but man, do I want to be there this weekend. P.S. Forecheck, I MAY have a ticket for sale for the Friday game vs SCSU. I'll let you know more when I get back into town.
  6. Geez you two! Don't you realize that you are ENEMIES? Quit flirting and start dishing Ok, I'm kidding, but I couldn't resist
  7. Probably the same reason forecheck was in love with Durno. Oh wait. That was his hair I am optimistic. I think Schneider is on crutches and will be until Friday just before game time. Why? Because I'm stupid enough to believe that if you keep the weight off of it for as long as possible, the faster it will heal. Anyone know the rules on dressing and not dressing a player? My question regards the warmups 30 min before game time. If a player dresses and skates during that warm up, can he still be scratched for the game and another replace him? In other words, if Schneider tries to skate in the pregame warmups and cannot do it, can Foyt be added to the roster and Schneider scratched?
  8. I would have thought we'd hit all the evil teams in the WCHA, greyeagle. UND and MN are two. No love for UW? Guess my assumption that MN fans dislike UND and UW equally are wrong. SCSU has really improved then!
  9. My apologies. I guess I was out of line. I do care really if the general public comes to games. I never want to see an empty arena or stadium. But let's face it, when do they cheer? I don't ask that they stand up and raise a rauckus like the students. They don't even have to chant. They just have to look alive that's all. Cheer for the Sioux even when they haven't scored a goal. It was a bad generalization that I made and I apologize. I do know that there are some great great general public fans of our sports.
  10. Great! Nice to see the dedication. Could you imagine if there were 12,000 cheering fans in the Ralph every game? Imagine what that would sound like!
  11. Yeah, well... It's not like those lumps who sit behind the benches do anything aside from showing up to the games.
  12. I may be the only Sioux fan to say this, but part of me wishes that no one was hurt on either team. When both teams are 100 percent, there really is not reason to make excuses for a loss. With Ballard out, it gives those gopher fans an excuse "If we had Ballard, things would be different." Honestly though, I do hope Ballard plays again. I didn't hear if it was very serious. Greyeagle or sagard, is it serious?
  13. Irman is from Fargo, not GF.
  14. I'm not able to think something up, but what about doing the old MasterCard thing? Priceless or whatever... I hear the Gopher fans will show up wearing pull tab necklaces. They're really stretching. Maybe we can hit on that some? Definitely need something honoring Brooks. The guy was a stud. He's also the only man who I'd openly admit was a better coach than Blais. Says a lot. But then again, Blais learned from Brooks so.... Maybe a sign that says "Brooks and Blais: Best Darn Coaches... Period. We'll miss you Herb!"
  15. It's not often stated but I think it should (at the cost of me sounding corny). I'd like to say thanks to all those fans out there who are not able to make it to Grand Forks who support the Sioux. Especially those in the Twin Cities. Not a lot of fun being surrounded by goophers. I wish you all could be at the Ralph. Maybe it would liven up the other side of the rink.
  16. I hear this same debate on the hockey board. The question I have is this: Why do we, as students, care about the attendence of the general public to our sporting events? The vast majority of them (more so with hockey than football, I admit) are just lumps that occupy the seats. I say that as long as there is a good turnout of students at any of ND's facilities, that's all that matters. After all, who is going to argue that the public likes to get out of their seats for anything other than a touchdown or goal anyways? The prevailing attitude as displayed by their actions at games is thus: Leave the cheering to the real fans of the sport: the students. We just want to sit in a plastic seat that cost $18-$30 a game so we don't have to watch it on our puny 19" Daewoo TV. I hope a lot of NDSU students turn out to NDSU games just like I hope the same for UND students. A full student section is worth more to me than a full General public section.
  17. CRR- You are correct, however, he has a point. You see, that game counted as a non conference game. Being that we haven't played any in conference games yet (Our first is this Friday), UMD is in first place in the WCHA because UND's WCHA record is 0-0-0.
  18. Count on it.
  19. How about: Prpich, Greene, and Smaby -- Pest Control (Or something like that?) On the mullet quip, how about: Loo Loo LooCHIA! (Like Chia pet?) Corny, but to replace the "Yale Sucks" sign could be "Pelt the Gophers"
  20. Using that logic (which I'm not doubting) anyone wish to bet that happens at the Ralph this weekend? Also, anyone want to bet that Porter, Greene, Smaby, Prpich, and gang take exception to that? And on that note, anyone want to bet that, after the ensuing melee, Shep gives Minnesota the benefit of the powerplay? I can't wait to hear how many times that is going to happen. I expect Brandt to start both games. Parise backs up Friday, Ziggy on Saturday.
  21. Last I checked, an assist is an assist is an assist regardless if it comes off Murray's stick or Bina's stick. This is a game of production. Bina has produced. Since you question assists as points, I'm curious to know what you think of Brady Murray? After all, except for one goal, all he has is assists. I agree with your position of standing behind Brandt. And I admire your stance in support of Foyt. I think he's a good player, however, scholarships mean more in DI hockey. After all, if you consistently start a walk on over a scholarship player, you wonder why that player is on scholarship. So far, Bina has only two things running against him: his size and his history. Foyt has more experience when it comes to juniors. He also has a little more size and he has experience playing with Bochenski. He also has somewhat of an advantage in hype between Bina and Foyt. Blais has recruited some duds in the past, sure, but no one is a dud before they've played more than 5 games at least. And so far, Bina has had the advantage of having more ice time than Foyt. There's something going on behind the scenes at practice that makes Bina more attractive as well. We all know Blais will bench someone who isn't performing. Maybe I'm too quick to side with J Parise, but I'm not calling for him to be starter either. I am saying that so far, he, like Bina, has the advantage over Ziggy in ice time.
  22. I wish we could have chanted "Harvard Rejects"
  23. He better watch out though. Shep doesn't like Greene and will send him to the box within the first 5 min of the game. Smaby showed that he can lose his cool yesterday too. It won't be hard for Shep to let him know that he doesn't like the freshman class equally to the upper class
  24. Like I said, I'dd admit Minnesota is a bad team the very second they are eliminated from NCAA regional action. Until then, I'm standing pat.
  25. Lee Goren was sent down to the AHL today
