They even had Todd Anderson as a ref and he didn't call 40 penalties! UMD blew it big time on a night that featured Anderson losing his whistle.

I was going to say make sure you mention how you get all your information from me, but..... well.... Have fun. Old fart.

He didn't look all that small when he was on the ice when I watched him at the Ralph. And he seriously was the best player on the ice. Period. Yes, better than even Chorney. However, Chorney still has a few years so he will improve (not that he was terrible). Whether or not Duncan takes a year in juniors or not depends upon many factors, but most importantly, who leaves this off season that isn't a senior.

We were awful in the first period. My neighbor and I stated that, if our defense wasn't as good as it was, I'm positive it would have been at least 3-0 SCSU after one. I agree, a loss is a setback, but a sweep would be catastrophic. Tonight is a MUST win for the Sioux. About the hustle, both teams had ton of hustle in the 2nd and 3rd, but one thing you must realize is that SCSU is a smaller and faster team. Some of their skaters are just plain faster than our bigger players. A lot of this SCSU getting the puck in the Sioux zone after a clear was because it was Schneider, Greene, or Smaby going after the puck along with some 5'9" dman or so. He was fast. Hill is fast too. The one thing I didn't like was Hendrick's leadership on the ice. Schneider will complain whe we are getting shafted but when the ref turns away from him, he realizes that the conversation is over. Hendricks almost followed the refs into their locker room. Suck it up, Huskies. Also, Coole's bitching about this and that. He's winning, therefore there is no reason to complain. This is a fast team folks. And one with EXCELLENT chemistry on the ice. They are not explosive like us, but they stay at home with their defense and they get the jobs done. Notice how Coole didn't wander very far from the net. Brandt nearly caused heart attacks last night.

You know, I don't know. I was so upset last night at the outcome of the game that I didn't think about whether or not they were usually televised. If they are not normally televised, then it's a semi-good thing what dataflix is doing. If it is usually, then my comment stands.

I would think Duncan would be here in 2005. My rationale is that he's at or around the same age as Chorney, who is slated for arrival at UND in 2005.
-
With about a minute left in the 3rd period I think the key factor in today's loss was forecheck locking her purse in her darn car and myself losing my ticket altogether.
-
If you think that is bad, guess what... Dataflix is the ONLY way you will watch the Denver series. It's not going to be televised. Looks like the Dataflix people want to deny students watching the games. Who knows, we'll see about the next series after Denver we play on the road.

Porter had no part in the loss really. The boding started when Lundbohm couldn't get the handle on the open net goal and the end was when Brandt got the penalty. The unbelievability of Brandt's stupidity stunned the entire arena. We had all the momentum until that point. The second goal was a fluke but they really worked hard. The entire first period showed that the Huskies came to play.

I'll tell you folks, we worked hard to lose this game. Yup, Schmidt may have reffed, but this time, it wasn't his calls that cost us the game. We flat out sucked on the Power Play. We had over 30 shots but how we got them defeats me. It ALWAYS looked like we were trying to go "cute" on the goals. We just need to throw the puck at the net and stop wasting time! Porter and Marvin looked horrible today but Canady and Fylling looked good. Murray looked good too. So far, Coole has lived up to the hype. I hope we split, but I'm pretty sure good bye #1 ranking. Whew. I'd rather stay in the top 5 and not be #1 until the end of the season anyways. We underestimated the Huskies and they bit us in the arse. Tomorrow is a do or die for us. If we get swept at home by the Huskies, I really think that we may not be true legitamite contenders because it isn't going to get any easier in Denver, or later on in the season.

I was in the hockey band at one point. Let me tell you, Miking the band is a necessary evil but the mike the WRONG instruments. THey Mike the drums, the trumpets and trombones, and then they have two Mikes for everything else. Or they did. They shouldn't mike the brass at all. Just have two Mikes set up for the Brass and the Drums and then heavily Mike everyone else. And the best thing that couldhappen to the hockey band is that the department gets some standards. Blais axes players who cannot play (Siembida, Fournier, etc) We should hack band members who can't play. Make the trumpets stop blowing hard. I think that if everyone didn't realize that they sucked (in other words, they improved) you'd see less piped in music

Goal Song? We could have a lame song for a goal song.... like "WHOOP There it is!" By Onyx (or is it Tag Team?) Whatever. One hit wonder. Or perhaps after a win they can play "Can't Touch this" By Hammer. Two lame songs, but the humor factor is there.
-
I wish they'd play more clips of SlapShot. Perhaps every time there is a big hit that stops the play we can have a clip while we chant "who's yer daddy!"

So have the fans of the six other teams he's been on. For a number one overall pick, he's been nothing but a disappointment. I'm hoping he produces with the Wild or I'd like to see him set the mark of being the only player to play with every NHL team.

North Dakota vs. St. Kloud (Nov 14th and 15th)

Keys for a Husky victory: 1. Zach and Murray get caught before the game at the Edge while Bochenski decides to take a weekend trip to Winnipeg leaving in about a half hour. 2. Siembida comes back for a one series engagement with the Sioux 3. Blais pulls the goalie for the remainder of the game... with 10 minutes to go in the first period 4. Everyone gets injured 5. Anderson is the ref (ok, winning with him as the ref isn't a sure thing, but it will give SCSU an advantage). 6. Greene goes psycho and whacks everyone on the Sioux bench. 7. An act of a higher power. Ok, seriously though, it should be a great series and I can't wait to see the puck drop. P.S. Does anyone think that Saigo looks a lot like Mr. Wong from Futurama? Mr. Wong is Amy's (the "cute" intern) rich father. -
Especially when the words "5 hole" come to mind

Or crashes and burns like Alexandre Daigle

Since Eddie is closer to retirement, I'd say him. That way he can be our goalie coach while he finishes his degree. Bear in mind that Karl already graduated with a degree in Marketing or Business here at UND. And, if I am not mistaken, he maintained close to a 4.0 GPA. I have a feeling that, even if his pro career fails, he'll stay in Hockey as part of the front office of some NHL team.

Shuttle bus to the Edge? COOL! Maybe we can ride with Zach and Matt! Ok, that's getting old, but I had to.... Ok, I didn't have to, but it still worked well.
-
I agree. Over used signs do not bode well on the side of being well recieved.

Oh and I say if I hear one more rendition of Sheryl Crow, I say we rise up like the Marxist prolateriate and throw the band onto the ice!
-
I am particular to "Get Over It" by Ok Go when the other team is squabbling with the ref. As for warmups, let them be the same as they are. . The Players choose it. One thing though: Under NO circumstances during the game should we hear pop/chick music No Hootie, No Shania, No Faith, NO COUNTRY, No COunting Crows. We're here to rock n' roll. Let's keep it that way.

Now if only the Administrator would say that

I'm not so sure. He has an assist, but what is going to stop him getting the same treatment that Roche got? Roche has an assist, doesn't he? Gosh it's hard to look at someone's performance when I don't get Devil broadcasts.

With a school like UND having a top notch aviation school attached, you'd think that this question wouldn't rise up, but then again, all aviation classes are about where they are going to fly this weekend and the location of the next party And, according to http://www.aoe.vt.edu/~mason/Mason_f/ConfigAeroDesignOpt.pdf , it should be swept 45 - 70 degrees. Seems high, but there you go. Sheesh. Sometimes I wonder if you guys can even function without me
