  1. Very grainy. Almost like someone took a picture of a black, metal strainer in a dark room.
  2. WOW!
  3. I heard we're going to have an African-American President. Any truth to that?
  4. HA! You used "golf" and "play" in the same sentence all the while referring to us! No... smirking doesn't involved typing. Me thinks that somebody is tooting his own horn to the tune of the Hey Ya.
  5. You're killing me as your reading comprehension is hurting my faith in Bemidji's public school system (or wherever you came from). I said he's the shortest 6' player in the WCHA. Meaning, if he's 6' tall, I'm Joe Finley's height.
  6. Gleason is the shortest 6' player in the WCHA.
  7. Huh... where did I hear that GM styling? Oh yeah... Chicago Cubs (1990s)....Minnesota Twins.... Wirtz was just as bad as McCombs (Vikings), Pohlad (Twins), and a few others... But I do agree. Spending money on guys in their prime or entering it is a GOOD idea even though you will probably spend more.
  8. Hey RedFrog, would you be an awesome guy and record the goals in tonight's game? Just because Midco picked it up doesn't mean those of us in Omaha will be able to pick up the game.
  9. I like the player from <insert team name> that we got over the one they got.... That sounds familiar... where have I heard that one. OH YEAH! I seem to recall a certain Salmon Arm forward that we got that was better than the Salmon Arm player the Gophers got... However.... I think Olson will turn into a better pro at this limited viewing standpoint than Chucko.
  10. I tuned in for the second period to the end. It seemed like a roller coaster ride, but we did great. Much of the third period was rather stressful. UMD looked A TON like UND vs DU. Lots of penalties, lots of missed chances....at time playing better than UND. UND got a nice win. We're going to have to work even harder to win tomorrow.
  11. Um... those of you who dislike Kristo on the first line.... uh... might want to tune out pretty quick. He's heading right back to the first line.
  12. This is going to sound arrogant, but what the hell... Genoway is a complete defenseman, but I think what we really are missing from him is on ice leadership and the offense from the blue line. We are NOT lacking on defense. I still think our D can handle UMD's top line. The question is who makes more mistakes and can the other team make it count.
  13. Not always. YouTube search Steve Downie. The one on Jason Blake is simply outstanding. I dislike Avery with a passion, but Downie.... wow. Every day now, he should be thanking the hockey gods for still being in this sport. What a cheap shot artist. Ok...I'll say it. It makes Matt Cooke look like a Lady Byng candidate.
  14. I'm inclined to say Ballard made a foolish mistake and one that will haunt him for a while. He was angry. Perhaps because he got burned (I didn't see the play leading up to the goal). In any case, I think both sides are right. It's retarded to break your stick or hit the net with your stick after a goal (or any time). However, calling out Ballard for what obviously was a mistake and not intentional is also not that accurate either. Ballard has worked hard, so I've observed. I think he's better now than he ever was as a Gopher. I saw the look on his face. The camera showed him looking up at the scoreboard for some reason (counting down the seconds?). He wasn't even sitting on the bench. I wonder what happened after that. Did he play the remainder of the game? How did he play? I personally would want to get out on the ice and stay there. I'd want no part in sitting on the bench or going to the locker room. According to Twitter on Brad's blog, they talked it out and are ok now. That's only part of it. He has to work his way back in favor of his teammates and the media aren't going to be helpful.
  15. Yikes.
  16. Crap. I thought we were friends. Maybe I said something too harmful regarding the Chicago Bears?
  17. True, but I still can't take them lightly. Niagara would be an embarrassing loss to be sure. However, Notre Dame and Minnesota could idealistically play well enough to beat UND. Whether or not we see that ideal is hard to tell at this point, but it's not far fetched.
  18. It must mean Niagara because they, of the four mentioned, are the only ones who are truly soft. MSU-M always plays us tough....physically at least. (God forbid we get Don Adam that weekend). Minnesota and Notre Dame aren't very good RIGHT NOW, but who knows what they'll be like in January.
  19. And an interesting case. I mean... he gets dumped by Dallas and no one takes him for a while before NYR finally signs him again. He's almost an untouchable. For a time I thought he and Barry Bonds would hang out and console each other. In any case, I think he's beyond an instigator. He does have a penalty made directly because of things he's done on the ice.
  20. Imagine what would have gone down had I stood up! And, to be honest with you... not all rentacops were jerks. My lower bowl seats when I was a student were right above the hallway on the glass where the refs enter and exit the rink (the opponent's penalty box). The rentacop that stood in the hallway most games was from Hilsboro and I can't recall his name. However, he was a funny guy and I routinely joked around with him between periods and during warmups. There was another rentacop who, for a time, checked our signs once we got into the arena (not quite sure how this worked since I thought they'd check them as we entered... YaneA made the signs so I never brought them in). He was funny and a fair guy too. He never really confiscated any signs I was aware of (or remembered). Times must've changed.
  21. This is how I missed the Malone goal on Friday. Security guard noticed that some fans have moved up one row... I don't know exactly why that mattered, I don't recall anyone sitting in those seats. In any case, during play, he confronts them and tells them to move back, which they do and so it goes... Oh yeah, the puck was in play the entire time this was going on. I realized something had happened when everyone started cheering. I was livid.
  22. I'm on ignore?
  23. here we go again....
  24. Sweeney said that the next televised games they'd be broadcasting would be December 11th and 12th vs. UW. So, if there is a visual component, my guess would be UMD webcast.
  25. Are you addressing this to me? I changed my opinion on Lemaire. But in defense of my previous position, Lemaire was the bench boss of one, if not THE, preeminant power in hockey when it comes to boring style of play. When you look at a professional team, you don't judge a team's play by the players. You can't. Players come and go and they are all wildcards coming out of juniors. Remember, Stephane Veillieux could score in the CHL. Wes Walz wasn't bad either. Benoit Pouliot was amazing in the CHL. But teams relaxed in the NHL when they were carrying the puck into the offensive zone because they couldn't score in a $2 brothel that's having a 50% off sale. So you look at two people: The coach and the GM. The GM doesn't handle day to day on ice operations. So, that leaves the head coach. Right or wrong, that's how it is. Andy Murray, this year, is on the hot seat in St. Louis because his players aren't performing up to snuff. I think Murray is an excellent coach who is used to getting a lot out of very little (hey, he got the Kings to the playoffs a year... that's simply amazing). But he's the guy in the spotlight, not the seeming regression of Chris Mason or the slump of many a player. Lemaire is a good coach. Risebrough was a disaster, but that's nothing new. Minnesota sports teams love hiring morons as GMs. Risebrough, McHale, to a certain extent Terry Ryan, whoever was the GM during Red McComb's days with the Queens...
