COMMITED SIOUX RECRUITS - 2009-10 Updates, Stats and News

I believe that's the "other" Matt White. The former UND recruit, IIRC, plays/played for Lincoln? -
BTHC - Alvarez and OSU want to make it happen?
redwing77 replied to star2city's topic in Men's Hockey
It's funny because Maturi was dead on. It would kill college hockey outside of the BTHC. I think Alvarez is making a push to replace Myles Brand. I mean, with one retard gone, might as well replace him with another retard, right? Now, a BTHC that actually tried to even out the talent out west might be intriguing. Something like: BTHC: Michigan, MSU, Minnesota, Notre Dame, tOSU, Wisconsin, UND, and Miami WCHA: DU, CC, UAA, UAF, UNO, BSU, MSUM, SCSU CCHA: BGSU, UAH, WMU, NMU, LSSU, MTU, and UNO Of course, that's not cool because then we might as well call the BTHC the WCHA, the WCHA can stay the same, and the CCHA the CHA. -
No, nothing boring about 40 cars driving in a circle for 2+ hours (NASCAR) or whatever for WoO.
-
I once listened to what had to be about 2-3 laps of NASCAR on KFAN and I almost crashed trying to turn the channel too fast.
-
You must be drunk a lot then. That's the only way I can imagine actually enjoying racing that's longer than one lap. As for rally races, they're always racing to get somewhere, be it across the desert or up Pike's Peak, and so on. NASCAR and WoO is just going around in a circle.

Gopherz has a point and so does brianvf. Last year, the Gopher Team D was among the worst in the league... probably THE worst in the league if you took MTU and UAA out of the WCHA. They are what Lucia coaches them: a puck possession, puck movement team. They are finesse through and through. You give the Gophers enough time in your defensive zone and they WILL score. However, you play physical and keep them out of your defensive zone, they will inevitably screw up and you'll score. Let's do a racing analogy shall we? The Gophers are like a dragster. Sleek, fast, sharp llines, somewhat ugly looking (). The Sioux are like one of those rally racers. The Gophers can outspeed and outfinesse anyone over short distances, but one misfire and they're just blowing smoke or careening all over the arena in an ugly fireball. The Sioux can speed along with the best of them, but they are more rugged and can dish out punishment physically. If they have a blow out, they take time to recover (which can burn them badly) but they will recover. I've yet to see a dragster blow a tire mid race and recover to win. The Sioux blew a tire with 8 minutes left in the first period on Friday and came back to win. The analogy is horrible, but it makes sense to me, and that's all that matters.

HA! What it DOES do is establish precedent and a foundation for further sympathy mongering and victim card waving. Because of exactly what you state. "If you meant it you'd give us <this> and establish <that> and provide us <this>...etc. etc." It seems (and it warms me to no end to say this) that the masses are just working through life doing the best they can. However, the vocal NA in the spotlight are the ones who expect us to, through remorse and thinly veiled if not overt accusations of racism or just plain entitlement, provide every need for them like some communistic idealism. It's funny really.... look back at GrahamKracker. He called us racists and he called those NAs who spoke in favor of the nickname "hang around the fort Indians." Yet... those who speak so much against the nickname want those very same "fort dwelling white men" to provide for their people. Who's really hanging around the fort?

Aw crap. I am reading Desmond Young's biography of Irwin Rommel... I read recently a nonfiction account of the early Russian Revolution, about a mutiny on the Battleship Potempkin...who voted against Obama. I guess I'm a Nazi loving communist leaning racist ultra conservative hate mongering Jew. I think my head is going to explode from all that internal strife!

I agree.... the Yankees are one of the few teams I dislike more than the Twins.... but the Twins have 2 players, one injured. The Yankees have a lineup full of them. The Twins are competitive. The Yankees are winners. The Twins will (and have) made a game of it every single time, but ultimately, the best team win. The Yankees are worlds better than the Twins, even though Mauer is 1. the AL MVP and 2. 1 trillion times more likeable than anyone the Yankees have on payroll (ok, I like Joe Girardi but still...). By the way, it warms my heart to see that Kubel has an eating buddy in Mujales or whatever his name is. He makes LeCroy, Silva, Reyes, and Ponson proud too.

Anyone else glad they sat Toews tonight? #18.... get used to seeing it as an active player and not a scratch.

As one of those "Lemaire-hating Wild fans" (except I'm no fan of the Wild), I don't think it can be best put in that black and white type. Really, the reason why the Wild sucked was 70% Risebrough and 30% Lemaire. I think Lemaire sought to get the best out of what he was given to work with. If that means providing Minnesota fans with Eaves-esque snoozefests and 2 and change goals per game on average, then that's what it meant. Lemaire can only do so much with Risebrough's Retards. He's only slightly less incompetent than McHale when he was GM of the T-pu$$ie$. So, there's my opinion and remember: You asked for it.

Cannatta just made the save of the night. Period.

Yankees sweep, but at least the Twins make them sweat a little. Sweeney said tomorrow isn't televised? Is that really true? I thought every home game was televised!
-
I think Hak will enlighten them in the lockerroom. It's too bad though. This team should skate circles around Merrimack. Instead, we're just playing their game. 2nd Period will speak volumes. I'm optimistic that we'll stop playing soft and start playing Sioux hockey.
-
Yeah, that's the chump.

I watched the game. It was pretty good. Johnson made an insane save on Doan. The other thing that was amusing was the announcers being surprised at Cook's penalty that nullified Goligoski's goal. I mean... it wasn't like it was overt or nothing. If Cook hadn't cross checked that Coyote player, that same Coyote player would have blocked the puck. Cook is really overrated.
-
Sweeney called him Jonathan at one point too. In other news: On Schlossman's blog, Fienhage's already being edged closer to being the new Finley by the haters. Hasn't hit here yet.

I think most of the team played nervous the entire first period until the first goal was scored. They finally relaxed in the 3rd and started scoring. However, there were a few goals that were simply bad goaltending.... like Marto's goal. Christie should have had that one for sure. I'm almost sure Christie could have prevented the Lamoreaux goal as well. I don't know who is going to be the odd man out, but tonight's game isn't going to be the determinating factor. Remember, up until Genoway scored, the biggest impact Genoway had on the game was pretty much the fact that he went to the penalty box one more time than any other Sioux defenseman. However, whoever IS the odd man out, I'm happy to say, it won't be because he sucks. It will be because he was just beat out in practice or the matchup serves the chosen 6 better.

I don't think it will be MacWilliam. I think it will be Fienhage. He made a few mistakes out there and that's all it takes. If not him, then maybe Malone? I'm not sure. This is the first year in a while where there isn't a clear cut Fan "un-favorite." As for Kristo- Was it bright behind him or does he just not have that good of instinct towards eye contact with the camera? Or maybe the cameraperson wasn't very good looking? or had bad breath?
-
If I gave it to a D, I'd give it to MacWilliam. Yeah, Genoway has a goal and an assist, but he also has two bone headed penalties on top of it. MacWilliam played extremely well. Gleason also did well. LaPoint was quiet but good on the PK. All in all, I like what our D did tonight. We just need to work on passing, chemistry on the ice, communication, and finishing.
-
My 3 stars: Kristo Vandevelde Gregoire Snakebitten player of the game: Trupp. Yeah, he did get an assist, but I've not seen a guy get robbed more at point blank than Trupp did tonight. Not even Oshie his sophomore year.

I also object to Lammy and Cichy being on the same line. On the computer, I can't tell 8 and 9 apart. So... Hak, switch the lines. Thanks.
